  • My brother and sister always told me growing up that I needed to lose weight and all it did was make me want to down more brownies. The only thing I remember that has been even remotely motivational was when my brother sincerely told me that I'd look so beautiful if I'd just lose the weight. And I look forward to seeing…
  • icecreamdream, that's cheating :P NonnyMary, the recipe is the link I posted. I think that it's more than that though...I didn't count how many squash or zuchinni or anything, but I'd guess I put in 2 squash and 1.5 zuchinni and 2-3 tomatoes per pan...hmm...
  • I don't like the label "cheat" because then I feel like I have something to be guilty about. I decided though to not log my foods on Sundays....it's my day of rest spiritually and physically. I still try not to go hog wild but if there are some desserts and non-diet sodas involved now and then...I survive :) Honestly, I…
  • No worries...I seriously ate half of a large pizza for dinner....granted it was a papa murphey's delite ...and I did jog my first 5k today and then biked for 40 minutes. but between that and a church picnic....(hot dogs) I'm literally 19 calories over. Guess who is going to do a couple songs on Just Dance before heading to…
  • Well...it was a lot of speed walking with spurts of jogging. I have to learn how to jog properly though...my brother kinda laughed and commented on how I only have 2 speeds (he said my jogging spurts were a little fast...I thought if I jogged any slower I might as well walk or I'd be jogging in place lol).
  • I usually go over too. I figure as long as I keep in my calories I'm good. I'm not going to feel bad about eating fruit! Also, I changed my setting from showing daily sugars to daily iron since I'm personally more worried about anemia than I am sugar intake.
  • Oh, and for the record, I saw this and loved it: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151917055108465&set=a.146378783464.135586.129446698464&type=1&ref=nf
  • Don't know if it's been said, but I feel bad that I'm contributing less to the fuel industry as I'm trying to bike and walk as much as possible instead of driving. Along the same note, I hope I don't offend anyone too much when they keep offering me rides places (really, I know I still have a lot to lose, but I've gotta…
  • Awesome :) I'm supposed to be "training" for my first 5k...between injuries and scheduling I haven't had much time for trying to jog lately. I have a feeling there will be a lot more walking than running, but the point is that I'm doing it!!! Congrats :)
  • Thanks for the help/clarification/support. I have over 100 lbs to lose, so no, 7 isn't a ton, but it's a start :)
  • Just do a google search for their nutritional facts and write down a handful of 500 calorie or less (or whatever your goal per meal) meals from each place.
  • #2 too! "I already showered today"
  • I know the whole "no one wants to date the fat kid" routine. It was never enough to motivate me though, I defiantly felt that they were all too shallow and should give my awesome personality a shot. Eventually, I met a wonderful man that loved me, body fat and all. Now I have the power with my best friend helping me lose…
  • I'm kinda a noob...what does nsv mean? Congrats!
  • Time. Time. Time. Money...sleep....but mostly time.
  • Quinoa for breakfast! 1/2 cup steel cut oats 1/4 c quinoa 3 c water in crockpot on low for 6-8 hours. Add butter/brown sugar/dried cranberries, etc to your taste and calorie liking ;)
  • I suppose I can see the motivation in competition. I don't know that I'll be there, but I know I have some friends back home (going back today after 5 weeks out of town) that we'll be getting together for workouts, would be awesome to do a biggest loser between us ;) Some people here say that they are neither a kick in the…
  • Good job :) I just walked about 7 hours over the last 2 days....it's a break day for me tomorrow as we have an 8 hour drive back home....but I'll be thinking of you and cheering you on! Anything is better than nothing!
  • *Sigh*.....I guess I'm *almost* alone in my feelings. I'm done looking at the comments. Thank you for your recommendations, I'm glad we can all lose weight how we feel we need to, whether it's vegan or paleo or shakes and supplements....by weighing our food or "eyeballing" it. I will say for future reference, that it's a…
  • Oooh, love dill from when my parents grew it when I was a kid and we'd can our own pickles. Never just ate it straight though..... On a side note, I would pay good money for a "tomato stem candle", I absolutely love the smell of it when it gets on my hands while picking.
  • My absolute favorite lately has been chopped tomatoes and cottage cheese, salt and pepper. A little ground beef warmed and added (taco leftovers) is nice too if you need the protein/can spare the calories. Of course, I've had homegrown tomatoes lately, sooooooo much better than the store-bought!
  • No prob. That's what I did when the bag of tootsie rolls was calling my name from across the room the other day ;)
  • It might not be bad to try weighing yourself in a couple days instead of waiting another week and see if it was just water weight or something like that, so you don't feel bad all week....
  • First, I let someone know I'm struggling (like my hubby) so you did good there :) Now we'll hold you accountable. Second, move, get out of there. Out of sight, out of mind.
  • I'm not in maintaining...still losing here....but if I know I'm going to go over, yes, I try to eat smaller during the day. But more than that, so I'm not starving, I make sure to exercise more.
  • I guess that answers my question as to whether or not any of you have had this happen :( I plan to see our doctor soon... I just was hoping someone else had gone through this.
  • I originally bought my wii system for Just Dance for a work out :) Good way to involve the kiddos too.
  • Not really. I took a pregnancy test not long before I started...don't remember exactly how long before. Hubby and I have been trying for a year and a half though. This doesn't bode well :(
  • I'm 5'7", 289...so I'm about in your boat. Except I've only been walking for the last 2.5 weeks...no other exercise, so I'd say you're better off than me (out of town for the summer so I don't have my bike or any equipment). I'm going to try a 5k "run" 9/21 and I'm a wee bit scared. I know I won't be able to jog the whole…
  • Rackies, That sounds so hard and I understand it's been a tough journey! I wish you luck on this new journey!
