  • Way to go! You're looking great!
  • I'm proud of u too for getting back. It's been an interesting 3 months, that's for sure:) so glad Kaden is okay!
  • Congratulations! I don't honestly know if I was lying last time I gave my weight, but I know it was 20 pounds under what I weighed when I started back here last year. My license is up next April, and I am so looking forward to telling the truth. I should be at least 80 pounds less than what my license says now:)
  • I agree that if you are truly full, you shouldn't eat more just because you have cals to eat, BUT, if this happens alot, you should look at what you are eating and when. If you eat alot of "low-cal" food, think about replacing some items with more calorie dense foods. They don't have to be low cal to be healthy. Also, if…
  • I use about 1 tablespoon brown sugar and some dried cherries. I know, that's fruit, but it's quite good.
  • I believe this is the kind of thing that should be reflected in your "activity level" when you are setting your goals. You work for a large part of your day, and it's most days, so it's not like extra exercise.
  • I used to get 9s, but now I'm able to get 8 1/2s. That was actually one of the first places I made noticable improvement. I was not retaing as much water as before, as well as any fat loss there, so my feet had gotten too small for my athletic shoes. My feet actually fit my shoes front-to-back now!
  • You are correct, those are just goals. Your calorie goal is determined by the activity level you choose (sedentary, etc.).
  • Awesome! Great work:)
  • When I make fajitas, I marinate the chicken or cook it in a marinade in the crockpot. I estimate that I get about 1 Tbsp of marinade per serving. I would tgink that you probably get about 1/8 cup with 1 whole chicken breast if you aren't taking any extra gravy.
  • Polar is a good brand. I have had 2 Ekho's that have been pretty good, though my current one has a glitch in the calculation which means I have to double the cal burn it tells me, unless I'm doing straight walking/biking. Kinda annoying, but I believe it was just a problem w/ a particular batch, and I chose to just keep it…
  • You could lose weight by just eating less, of course, but that won't help you build muscle. You'll be stronger and in much better shape if you exercise as part of the journey.
  • Way to go!
  • In my experience, I got so overweight by eating way more than I was hungry for. When I make the switch to eating less, I will get hungry because my body is used to getting more food. But as I stick to my plan, that decreases. As long as I'm making good choices about what to eat, and especially if I'm exercising so I get…
  • It looks like you're getting a lot of sodium. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and consider limiting your sodium a bit. I also will see a spike when it's that TOM.
  • Awesome job! You look great:) Keep up the great work!
  • There are lots of posts on the forums about why it is you need to net at least 1200 calories a day. Basically, your body needs at least that many calories to stay healthy. If it doesn't get them, it will eventually go into starvation mode, storing anything it gets as fat so that it is sure to have fuel for later. If you…
  • I took a look at your food diary. It appears your pre exercise calorie goal is 1000/day. You should at least be netting 1200 cals a day. Even though you are eating more from exercise, you look to be netting 600-900 a day. That is not enough. It's going to be hard to eat all your calories if you are burning 1000+ cals a…
  • I've lost 65 pounds, and still have 85 to go before I reevaluate. You'll do great if you take it one day at a time. It's so great to get connected to people on here who have similar goals:)
  • Thanks! I was just wondering about this!
  • Way to go! You're doing great:)
  • I'm glad you found your info:) When you are eating from a restraunt, I always try to find it in the database first. I looked, and that salad appears to be in there. Then, if they don't have the exact thing, I try to find the closest thing (they don't have Carlos O'Kelly's queso dip, but do have Applebee's), and if it's too…
  • I make this about once a week, then use leftovers (I make extra so I'll have some) for lunches during the week. Place foil sheets (I use the precut wrappers) on counter and spray w/ Pam. Place one salmon portion (approx 5 oz) on each sheet. Light salt and generously paprika each side. Top with 1/2 T butter (I use unsalted)…
  • Welcome! This really is a great site. It's nice to be able to talk with other people with the same goals:)
  • It seems to vary. Some people say that their calorie goal changes when they update their weight, but mine (and some other people's) doesn't. So I have to go in and redo my goals to get a new calorie goal.
  • There are several good posts in the forums on this topic, but basically, your daily goal is already at a deficit, so when you exercise that increases your deficit. You eat those calories (at least part of them) to maintain the deficit you have as your goal. Your body needs more energy when you exercise, so you eat more.
  • I was nervous when I sent Gideon (my autistic son) to Kindergarten last year. I worried about how the teacher and other kids would respond to him and if he'd be able to adjust to the school routine, and if not, how the school staff would respond. And let me tell you, it went wonderfully. I spoke with his teacher most days…
  • I have not changed my profile from sedentary, even though I was exercising regularly. When I'm not exercising, my life is still pretty sedentary. This also helps motivate me when I don't feel like exercising, because I can see what extra I can eat if I do it. But I do update my goals every 5-10 pounds so that my daily…
