Hi jeancricket!!! I got an eatsmart from amazon for about $40. They have one for about $50 that does body fat too. Not sure what the reviews are regarding the accuracy. I like mine and it seems to be consistent. I can message you with a link to the one I got.

I love this idea. I have a troll bracelet (but that is not why) and my beads are reminders of other things, but I like the idea of one that is a reminder of successes. Here are some more ideas: Pedicure or other "pampering" Fitbit New Clothes (maybe for a bigger loss) Tickets to a show or other (non food related) night out…

Once a week. First thing in the morning every Sunday. I've been maintaining since May and I think weighing daily would make me crazy. Its better that I DON'T see the day to day fluctuations. When I first started I would weigh Wednesday and Saturday but even that was too much so I went to 1X a week.

It's still there. I just tried it and I'm under 1200 right now because I am not done logging. I am sure that in 7 months of doing this, it has never been accurate even though the first 4 months my calories and deficits were VERY close.

If you weighed yourself without clothes and before you ate or drank anything and this time it was late afternoon with a lot of clothes and after lunch, you would be up at least 5 pounds if not more. You also weighed on a different scale. Scales can vary greatly. I always weigh on the same day, no clothes and before eating…

ZOODLES! Spiral them and use them as noodles instead of pasta. Search pinterest for ideas! Add other cut up veggies (peppers, broccoli, etc) and pasta sause.

".....European's not wearing sneakers anywhere but in the gym..." Maybe the way I wrote it was hard to understand, but I meant that the only place Europeans would wear white sneakers is inside a gym, not on the streets. I wore dark tan Rockport walking shoes and my husband wore his white or tan Rockport walking shoes. He…

I bought a pair of tan Rockport's (at the outlet) before a trip to Europe. They are basically nicer looking walking shoes. I wouldn't wear shoes that don't have a lot of support for all the walking you will do! No one will care what you are wearing on your feet. It's so true that you will look like a tourist no matter what…

I agree with what Rosebette said (for the most part). I am 5'2", 53 years old and was 116 pounds when I started. I put in my loss at .5 per week and MFP came back with 1200 (or I set it manually to 1200). So 1200 isn't "always" too low. I also see posts that women should have 2000 calories a day. I would gain everything…

Get the map my walk app. It syncs with mfp and uses gps to track distance. Or manually enter based on mph walked.

Since you are traveling by car bring along a cooler. Fill it with fruits and cut up veggies & baby carrots. Also pack some granola bars and protein bars. I know a lot of people say stay away from them because of the sugar or to eat "real" food, but thats not always possible when traveling. An apple and granola bar is…

I never know either, so I log as "calisthenics". There is a vigorous effort and a light effort choice. I don't "eat back" calories, so it doesn't matter much for me. I think this is the closest option and I like to see that I logged something. There is also a listing for circuit training, general.

I'm in! 53 5'2" and maintaining. Lost the 12 pounds (plus an extra 3) I gained after turning 50.
-
I have an eat smart and it's been very consistent. The one that does body fat too is now only $10 more than the one I got. I would have gotten that one for the extra $10. It was a lot more when I got mine.

You can manually enter calorie goals. If 1200 was too low and 1500 was too high (assuming you gave it some time at that) try 1300 and see how that works. Adjust by 50-100 calories but give it time. Some weeks I gained and some I lost even though food and exercise was very similar each week.

Stop going to this dietician. It sounds like you are comfortable with what your physician is saying and I would rely more on the medical doctor who you feel comfortable with. A therapist whose specialty is eating disorders may not be a bad idea, but it sounds like you are figuring this out on your own and do not want to…

I have heard of putting a marble in a jar for every pound loss. Seeing the jar fill up is motivating. Maybe put a line on the jar 1/2 way and 3/4 of the way up and reward yourself with something when you hit each line.

If there was a magic pill, NO ONE would be overweight. I agree with what everyone else said. I do remember dexatrim and like Kalikel said it was like legal speed so forget sleep. And feeling anxious was no fun either. Yes, I tried it in my 20's. Notice it wasn't the answer. I am still doing this 30 years later! "Alli…

I have an Eat Smart that I got from amazon. It got good reviews and it has been consistent for me. I keep it on the bathroom floor and weight 1X a week 1st thing in the morning. I wanted the fitbit scale (I have a fitbit), but didn't want to spend the money.…

Zits along the jawline and chin are from hormones! UGHHH.... over the counter creams don't work. All they do is leave bleach spots on my sheets and towels! Mine are big, red and they hurt. I think I have a permanent scar on my face where one keeps popping up in the same place! Oh, and speaking of popping....you can't.

Happily maintaining since mid-May! I am inspired by all the responses from people who have been maintaining for a while. I often worry about the maintenance part:smile:

I am also a vegetarian and I lost 15 pounds, but it took about 20 weeks. I couldn't get enough protein and carbs averaged 70% a day!!! I am also a 52 year old female. I really tried to up the protein and ditch more carbs.

I agree that plateaus are normal and they don't last forever. Clearly you know how to log if you lost 36 pounds. That's awesome. My loss stalled a lot or did the 1 pound up and down thing. Just stick with it. Don't eat all your calories back. I didn't eat any back and I struggled. It eventually comes off if you stick to…

First of all congratulations on the huge weight loss. That is awesome and something to be proud of. Give yourself a break as you have been through a lot. You didn't say you have been exercising so I would add that. It's also good for your mental health. Don't go below 1200 calories a day. I found that going below even for…

I agree! VERY helpful!

You took the first step and joined MFP and asked for support! Good for you. You should feel proud of that. 10 minutes on the bike was the first step. Challenge yourself to do 12 minutes tomorrow. Watching TV or even talking to a friend on the phone can help make the time pass. I wouldn't last more than 10 minutes on the…

Map my walk is very accurate in terms of distance because it uses GPS.

Wow I see a lot of good suggestions already. I wouldn't confront her in a way that would lead to an argument. She's your sister and if she is coming to visit it means she doesn't live near you so you might not see her a lot. I agree that she is jealous and competitive. If she complains about what you made rather than say…

This! This is what I would do!!! Run in at the last minute...... I am sensitive to strong smells too.

Night sweats and zits!!! Ughhhh..... I get a big red zit in the same place on the right side of my chin.
