25 kcal for daily coffee (50ml of semi-skimmed milk, sweetener) 55 kcal for day cup of hot cocoa (50ml of semi-skimmed milk, 1 tbs of cocoa powder, sweetener) The rest is green tea or black coffee without sugar, or lots of water.

Not exactly replying to the thread, but I am FT working mum with two small kids, I have a husband but the main duties are on my shoulders. I found that giving up sleep for exercising does not work for me – lack of sleep makes me a zombie, a very hungry zombie indeed. As a consequence it is much more difficult to control my…

The day is now almost finished (off to bed soon) and I had 300kcal dinner and 60kcal hot cocoa drink (the cocoa may seem unnecessary but it has a major calming and rounding of the day effect to me, much greater than those 60kcal). I have been active with my kids as always - it was too late for a park, but played some…

2 more minutes running upstairs and only 230kcal remaining overeaten... not sure if I manage any more stairs my legs shaking from the strain.
-
I understand that is purely running up the stairs (not down) and hearing my heart jumping and sweating like crazy I believe I burnt those calories. Maybe a fit person would not burn much but the fat mountain like myself probably will…

True with the comment that if we eat crap, then we just want some more crap. I tend to punish my overeating with more overeating, and first time I feel motivated enough to stay on track. For the record, I was losing weight until August 2012, then slipped off the track, and never got back – until now… Just did 1 more minute…

Unfortunately it is true.. I am a maniac on large quantities of food and it is something that I need to work on.. that’s the whole packet of sprouts. I just did 4 mins of running upstairs (I am desk-bound at work so this is little time that I could afford for the time being) and retrieved 97 kcal, according to MFP.

Spot on. Those cookies were sitting in my work drawer since Christmas (received as a present) and finally got me. Thankfully, they are now finished and I won't be buying them myself.

Thanks guys I value your support so much. I often end up in a cycle of overeating, starving, overeating – and often fail in my diet in this way – I guess it’s time to change the attitude and just continue to eat (light dinner) and move around home as much as possible.

Do we actually need to decide a cut off point « from now I am going to be vegetarian ? » Last year I decided to eat much less meat, especially red meat, because 1) I want to make a change environmentally 2) my belief is that the mass meat produce with all the hormones can do more harm than good. So it is better having a…

I posted a similar thread last week! I just realised that I had PMS last week. It is probably emotional hunger, not the real one... My help is 1 tbs of peanut butter or 1 boiled egg or the latest favourite - a mug of hot cocoa - 1 tbs cocoa powder + 1 tsp sugar or sweetener + 50ml milk = apparently cocoa powder is a…

Oh guys you are so supportive. My diary was done until August-September... (to my own disappointment). Thanks I will check out pinterest. Eating 5-6 times a day is a good idea.. in theory.. practically I could be eating every 10-20 mins.. Now I am thinking to cut all sugars so maybe it will help to break the habit. Oh and…

I am glad to hear that you manage to break the habit. I actually had brought some celery for today, but it had a terrible pesticide taste even after a thorough wash, I had to throw it away. It is not as feeling thirsty but more needing of something in my mouth or a taste on my tongue. I have done most of the right things…

I logged for some time in MFP, lost about 6-7kg, went on holidays (in August), lost my track and gained all and more (+6kg during last 2 months). Now starting all over again... I was in the right mentality when I was losing, eating about 1500-1600kcal with some exercise. The problem is that there is ALWAYS a cycle - cycle…

Thank you guys. I am not very keen on gum as it can be damaging to my teeth. Endless amounts of water and tea, yes, but the need to have something in my mouth ALL THE TIME is horrendous! I normally bring sufficient food (for the working day) from home, but mostly finish everything by the end of lunch time and if I don’t…

I am a terrible binge eater myself.. to the point where I am thinking that I probably want to kill myself with food! I had lost to 89.6kg in August 2012, lost control after my holidays in August, weighed 91.5kg in October and 98kg today! I have undone all my hard work with bingeing and have to start all over again. I…

Fav No.1: fat free cottage cheese, half of grated apple, 10g of raisins < 300kcal Fav. No. 2: cup of boiled rice + 1 teaspoon of pesto ~300kcal (I cook rice in the evening and happily eat it cold).

You look great, and by the way nowhere near 40!! When I saw your pictures, I thought 25 at the max!!!
-
You look so beautiful! I was going to screw up my calorie counting for today, but have read your story, checked your diary and I am again determined not to give up! Thanks for that!

I don't have a sound advice as I have just started myself, but what helped me to stop the useless cycle of losing-gaining-losing-gaining, was upping the calories to a long-term maintainable level. I used to be on 1400kcal and it was really hard to stick to it. Now I am on 1620 and it is so much better. I allow some treat…

I love my cottage cheese and have it every morning with some cornflakes mixed in. Other option I like is cottage cheese + orange pieces My children love cottage cheese pie from cottage cheese, eggs, butter, some raisins, milk and half-cooked pasta Our new hit is cottage cheese & spinach lasagna – we love the taste and it…

I am originally from eastern Europe and yes, cottage cheese is very different in the UK. Though, I got used to it and have been eating Tesco natural fat free cottage cheese almost every morning for the last couple of years. I bake cottage cheese pies and cakes with Tesco natural cottage cheese and it turns out just fine…
