I am 5 foot 5 and am aiming for around 150lbs- but nothing is in concrete. I have a large frame- and 150 is right in the middle of the recommended range when I add the recommended 10%. I am currently 185 - down from 250 so am please with my overall progress to date. I started this back in April and hopefully will be close…

My chronic disease is Crohn's Disease and I also suffer from chronic Migraine - which is really the family curse as it runs strongly in my family. Crohn's is also considered an autoimmune disease with manifestations mainly in the gut - but also causes inflammation in many parts of the body causing arthritis, and a…

Yeah - it makes sense that you pee more in the winter as you are not losing any moisture through sweating. If you maintain the same input all year around you are going to pee way more in the winter - especially if where you live gets warm or hot in the summer.

So well done to both of you!!!! I already sent a message to Kyak on the mobile app-and only noticed today that you have finished as well Mocha- so wonderful. I have to say the same Kyak- it has been a delight reporting back to both of you and having two lovely women to share the journey with. Mocha you will have to let me…

Really well done to both Mocha and Kyak- you have both done really well and are approaching the end at a rapid pace.I think it is kinda nice that you both head into week 9 together - as hopefully you will finish pretty close to one another. Mocha- my speed works out to be much the same as yours - and I am trying to work on…

I hope you are joking - otherwise you need to find another suitable forum. You have to be kidding!!

Just finished W9D3- so I AM OFFICIALLY A GRADUATE OF C25K----YAY!!!!! I still need to work on my distance and I will do that over the next few weeks until I manage to do the 5K within the thirty minute allocation. It is good as it will keep me on track and encourage me to keep going. Keep up the great work gang- I am sure…

Congratulations everyone for your great progress. Just wanting to say that this evening I DID MY FINAL DAY OF C25K - SO HAVE OFFICIALLY GRADUATED !!!!!!!!!!!Woohoo Thanks for all of the fabulous support along the way and I wish everyone the best of luck in completing the program. I am so pleased with myself and can't…

W9D1 finished - Yay - so first ever time I have run 30 full minutes. I need to focus on speed and running the full distance- but not up to it today as the weather was really warm and it made it very difficult. In that we are about to move into summer - it might prove to be a fair bit of a challenge. Debbie

Yay !!!! Today I did my first ever 30 minute run and was pleased to be able to finish it - although I have to say I really had to stick it out and I found it a real challenge. I don't think it had anything to do with the extra few minutes - I think it had more to do with the sudden very warm weather here. Even though I…

I just finished week 8 completely and find it hard to realise that I move onto week 9 next week. Wow- where did those weeks go? Keep up the great work Debbie
-
Wow- well I have just finished Week 8- and as Kyak just mentioned- that only leaves week 9- so three more runs and I am finished with the program. So staggering that we are all so close to completion. I pretty much did 4K today - so getting somewhere- albeit very slowly. I not realise that I probably will not reach the…

For me I actually like the new format as it is easier to track queries etc. I would notice in the old thread that people would ask questions and sometimes never get answers as they would be lost in the system once they moved off the page that was actually being displayed. I find that once people start a new thread and the…

Hi Darlene- welcome to our group. Where are you from. I am from Western Australia and am wondering if you too are over this way in the world considering the time you have posted. I am staggered that your doctors response was to live with it- it is almost funny. Have you been a member of MFP for very long- it has been…

Don't get too excited ladies- I found winter one of the hardest with regards to sleeping. I would snuggle up in all my bedclothes and wake up feeling like I was in the tropics and have no choice but the throw off all the bed clothes and sometimes discard nightwear. As the fire within me subsided I would fall back to sleep…

Wow - it is great to hear everybody's intros and fabulous that we are increasing with members beyond out old thread. It is impossible to comment on each of the intros here - but it reinforces that we are all travelling a similar road. As I read through I acknowledged most of the symptoms and realised that the intensity of…

Lisa- as I hit the button to post the last message I had another thought. Perhaps you should consider not going above the recommended running as you might be overtaxing yourself and causing additional fatigue in your legs, muscles and generally. I remember early in the course I was doing additional running after a session…
-
Good reasoning Lisa- but you might well be very surprised when you do your next run and it might go absolutely smoothly. For some reason there are just days when you know right from the get go that it is going to be a harder than usual day and try as you might the endurance is just not there. Do you run with music? Music…

Yay Mocha- so good for you- it feels so good doesn't it. Motivatedbride- as Kiyak said in a few posts earlier - it becomes almost as much a mental issue as it is physical. Once you get a mental set there is no stopping you really. You will get there- and I am sure it will be sooner rather than later so keep at it. I…

Lisa congratulations - it certainly feels like a fabulous achievement doesn't it:) Your son is so right - there have been serveral days where I have felt drained within the first 5-8 minutes and have just pushed through it and been able to push past and finish the session. As you mentioned - I remember feeling terrified at…

Imkram you are 99% of your way to finding your group- however as I posted a few posts back, we have actually moved to the new groups section of MFP. Please click on the link below and copy your post from this thread into a new topic and you will find you get way more responses.…

Birches thank you so much for posting the summary of the Dr Öz show- it contained so much great information. Debbie

I took the path of least resistance and opted for layered clothing , limited covers of a night time - oh and a hand held fan in my bag and near where I sit of an evening. Funnily enough when a good friend of mine visits who is the same age as me I place the fan on a small table between the seats and we take turns. Comical…

Mine is a photo I took at the beach less than 200 metres from my home. I live on the west coast of Australia- so it is a sunset shot- so peaceful Debbie

Just finished W7D3- yay - I am still surviving. Well done Kiyak - that is a fabulous distance you have managed - which is something I have not achieved as yet and will focus on building up my time slowly. I have the issue of age to consider and because I am 55 it is recommended that I don't have my heart rate over 150- and…

Yay for you Mochablu- you did really well. It is a really good feeling isn't it? Good luck to anyone else moving through this program. Debbie

KD- it might be a good idea to copy this post and post it in the new group of the same name as I think most people will be checking there from now on as we have a space there for the continuation of this group. If you follow the instructions provided in the previous post, you should have no problem finding us. Debbie

Just letting everyone know that thanks to the new Groups section offered recently by MFP- we now have an official Group that you can find by clicking on the Comminity tab- then choosing Groups and finding us with our name Near or Post Menopausal group. A big thanks to BlackwoodsMom for alerting me to new group facility :)…

I fully understand the calorie burns to gain a more accurate picture of your own expenditure or to map your heart rate - but why would you not give an accurate picture of your calories consumed?

What a great story- you are my hero! Happy birthday for tomorrow Debbie
