I think it looks like a good plan  I'm curious to follow along with your progress as you should be well into things by the time I'm finished doing my rest and ready for phase two!

@haybales Thanks for the advice  I'll work with my Fitbit TDEE for now and slowly inch up to see if its accurate. I'm going to stay at 2000 calories per day until my weight stablilizes, then work up from there 100 calories at a time until I start gaining again. The advantage of dieting for the last year with…

Yep Haybales spreadsheet says 2595! Eeep! Seems a daunting amount of calories, but one week at a time I suppose. I'm going to do some meal planning this weekend to try to make eating a bit less stressful, as I feel like I'm always thinking OMG I've how much left to eat?!? LOL This will also let me be a bit more purposeful…

So after reading and watching a lot of the information and threads around here this is my plan for my metabolism reset: I plan on doing a 12 week reset which maybe more than I need but considering my long history with sever calorie restriction I think planning to take this very slow is going to be wise, both mentally and…

Great thread!

Thanks ladies! I've been reading/watching a ton of the content here, it's been very helpful in reinforcing I'm heading in the right direction, and helping me put a bit more structure around my long term plans for the health of my metabolism

Thanks! One day at a time! On the plus side even though I'm still overweight I've a positive body image, I'm proud of what I've accomplished. Due to my arthritis 2 years ago I couldn't walk more than a few hundred steps, I've strengthened my body day after day until I can now run 5km straight :) This all kind of caught me…

Thanks for the advice ladies :) I'll discuss with her dad the best way to approach the diet issue (we've 50/50 custody so we need to have a united front on this or it's pointless) as well I want to be sensitive on the whole concept of diet/body issues. I was put on my first diet at not much older than she is now and it…

I have a daughter that displays issues with anxiety already at 8. I most certainly had PCOS while I carried her, I had many complications in my pregnancy including preeclampsia, and every time I've had my hormones tested my testosterone levels are extremely high. The kicker here? I knew I had PCOS long before I was…

The thing about PCOS is I find it's a moving target. I lost most of my weight, about 40 pounds, on moderate carb (50-70g/day), but then plateaued for about 7 months. Even when I dropped to keto (20g carbs) I wasn't losing. I've had to introduce calorie cycling (overall net calorie deficit but some days you eat in a…

Awesome when you see how good exercise is for you, regardless of the scale :)

Where is your PsA? I had very similar issues about a year ago. I've PsA in the lower base of my spine, and excessive movement made it swell and basically made me a cripple :( I started seeing an Naturopathic Dr who tested for food intolerances, once I cut out the foods triggering my PsA, I was able (gradually) to increase…

I agree with Dragonwolf, if you have Insulin Resistance, carbs may totally derail your efforts to lose weight. It's lean protein you need to build muscle not carbs. Carbs are an easier form of energy for you to use but once you are low carb, your body learns to burn fat instead. I only use carbs as fuel on days I want to…

Generally speaking the more weight you have to lose the easier those pounds may come off. Some maybe water weight true but good job all the same!

I've hit a massive plateau...8 months and the scale is finally starting to move again. It didn't seem to matter if I was strict or eating like a 'normal' person. Weight wouldn't budge. For me I think some of it has to do with focus and motivation, (so maintenance is certainly a win) and some has to do with a few medical…

Today I ran 5KM straight...for the first time since I was a teenager....

Today I got back running after a 3 week hiatus  I pushed hard and my muscles are feeling it! I am currently working on running 5KM in 30 minutes. I've regressed a bit but good to get going back in the right direction.

I've been with MFP for a little over a year, lost 40 pounds but have been maintaining/building muscle for the last 8 months and want to focus on finally losing "The Last 10 Pounds". Hoping this group will be what I need to keep me motivated day to day.

From personal experience, if you try to eat too little your body will overwhelm you with the need for calories! Some people can do interment fasting (fasting for 12-20 hours a day) but for a lot of us if we don't eat on a regular basis (for me if I miss breakfast) I'm way more liable to have overwhelming urges to eat later…

I looked at your profile, you're 19 and have 10 pounds to lose. Some assumptions will go into this advice so I don't mean to offend if they are inaccurate. I'm guessing this is your first attempt at losing weight, for many of us here it's been a life long battle with way more to lose than 10 pounds. Yes a scale and…

For me changing my focus was key. 'I'm not here to lose weight, but to get healthy.' Reframing why I need to lose weight was important. When I thought I'd be happier, and more successful if I was thin, my motivation was very results driven, crazy workouts, and diet that weren't sustainable in the long term. When I started…

My period while my weight is controlled is light and every 30 to 35 days and has been since I first started cycling. When my weight isn't controlled my cycle is completely sporadic going up to 6+ months without a period and having anything from light spotting to, heavy with large clots. Since starting to work with a ND and…

I use DIM with Vitex, inositol, a progestin boosting herbal, and an insulin control herbal. I'm seeking the advice of an Naturopathic DR (ND) and we've been slowly for the last 8 months adjusting the herbal supplements that I'm taking as my symptoms improve/are revealed. Here is a brief description of the path we took to…

So sorry to hear knit, I've been absent around here lately so I know I'm a day late and a dollar short with my comments :p I truly believe that our bodies are one whole unit and our medical issues are related to each other. I agree with some of the other ladies that have mentioned, by clearing up one issue it may be making…

I agree with Dragonwolf, this certainly isn't hopeless, but it is confusing and overwhelming at times. As you find out more you'll have more questions and the community here is awesome. I've learned so much from everyone here. So ask away, read learn and the most empowering thing you can do is take control :) good luck!

So many of our journeys have been very similar. I have to reiterate that loving yourself as you are has to come first before you’ll ever effectively be able to manage this disease. Let me give you a bit of my story. I was raised in a wonderful home, with loving parents. However my mother had (has) a weight problem, and at…

I've been pregnant once, and was fortunate enough to carry my daughter almost to term, and she's a beautiful healthy seven year old now  What has taken me by surprise is I had given up hope as to having a second child due to all my PCOS symptoms and the risk of carrying a baby to term again. However as I've gotten…

I purchased a Groupon deal today myself  was a few places offering deals, I picked the more expensive place as they had better reviews, plus they do electrolysis which since I'm fair some hair may need that added treatment.

I agree that home systems aren't as good as a professional one. But the ability to treat areas I can't afford professional laser on was worth the risk of it being a complete waste if money. Like I said it certainly isn't effective on my face but it's also where my hair growth started. I've been waxing tweezing threading…
