Vitex (and other supplements) made a huge difference for me. If my diet is low carb I'm acne free except for pms time. Once my hormones started balancing my pms acne has mostly cleared up too.

Since I was hairy before I was fat, I'm going with, nope weightloss isn't a cure. However, weight certainly exasperates the hair issues for me. 40 pounds down and working with a ND to help balance my hormones, my new areas of hair growth have slowed down, or completely stopped in about 6 months. Reversing that hair growth…

Yep Amazon.Ca here I can get that brand but not for 15 dollars

This is the brand I use for DCI. http://www.lornavanderhaeghe.ca/products/Glucosmart-for-Diabetic-Support.asp In Canada I'm paying 40 dollars for 30 pills so certainly not cheap. However I can't get the 15 dollar myo-powder in Canada either. Cheapest I can get for that same size is 40 dollars.

The key to low carb is fat  so try adding more fat to your foods, the good thing is there are vegetarian sources of fat, like coconut oil (which I personally love). We've been drilled to believe fat is bad for us, but epically when you're lowering your carbs you need to add those calories back to your diet in fats.…

Stats: 36, SW 222, CW 180 (ish) GW 170 (is) TBD What do you do for fun? I'm an introvert too  so hang out at home spend time with my daughter and BF. Are you following any particular dietary plan? If so, what? Paleo, Low Carb (not keto) and to make things more complicated I've a list of food intolerances an arm's…

I eat moderate carb, or slow carb as I've heard it called before. I basically took the idea of GI (Glycemic Index) and low carb and combined them. I eat about 50 to100 grams of carbs a day but all from 'Non-Carb' sources. (No breads, grains, and so on) So I eat a single serving a day of fruit that has a low GI (Raspberries…

Even low carb I can see close to that much of a weight fluctuation. As Dragonwolf says low carb helps mitigate that a bit but I can surly bet on a gain at least the week before, and sometimes two weeks before my cycle. :\

Totally agree knit :) working on hormone balancing, fingers crossed that the hair issues will fade in time.

Paleo, Low carb - slow carb (food combining to minimize the GI effects of higher carb foods) Inositol Moderate exercise Following those 3 things, first 30 pounds (of about 60 to lose) came off pretty much 'by the numbers' it's been vv slow going since. I'm losing a few pounds a month currently, and I'm ok with the slower…

I should have added I was hairy before I was fat, so I don't see skinny as a solution for me. That being said, I have consistently noticed new areas of hair growth when I'm having issues with my weight. So in my opinion, weight certainly plays a factor but I don't think it is a cure, at least in my case. Other people may…

I'm hairy like a man :\ I've obviously the worst issues are the places I can't hide. So my face mostly :\ I did a year plus of laser hair removal on my face among other places. It works moderately well on hormonal hair growth as long as you keep going. Areas I had treated with out hormonal hair growth, are still hair free,…

The thing to remember is we don't all have the exact same issues, causes, or symptoms. However from the studies I've read, as well as anecdotal evidence inositol is very helpful for almost all of us. I lost very successfully on it to begin with, and have a regular cycle for the first time in my life. I was anywhere from…

Yep I've been there too. I'd been married 9 years, and my sister who is 6 years younger than me and barely married a minute got pregnant. I certainly was bitter, and had a hard time too. But everyone else needs to live their life too, and it will get easier as time passes. Not a ton of advice to give other than I did…

Perfect thanks! I'll keep with it, and I'll experiment with dropping my carbs lower. That was my gut feeling but wanted a few other opinions.

I have inflammation based arthritis. So yes I have some physical limitations. What I mean by fatigue is day one I run quite well next day I do a anaerobic workout. Third day my leg strength in my legs is so poor I can hardly run more than a few minutes.

I echo walking, especially with fitbit or some sort of wearable. You find little ways to add 100 extra steps at a time, I can easily get my 10K steps even with a desk job, just by adding up the little bits here and there, plus a walk at during my lunch hour. Walking is easy, and it produces results. That being said…

DW yes I think you're absolutely right!

I had this very bad before my initial diagnosis of PCOS, staying low carb had taken this symptom away and it's never returned. My weight has fluctuated but I've not dark skin has never returned. And BTW, I think more doctors are @$$'s than not when it comes to PCOS

As you can see I carry most of my weight around my stomach. I've lost 40lbs and 11 inches off my waist. With clothes off my stomach still isn't fantastic, but in clothes it looks reasonable. I've still some weight left too lose but happy with my progress. As for exercise, I mostly walk, a bit of running, a bit of Deep…

I've lost 40 pounds since starting on inositol in September... Started Estrosmart with Vitex (dim and Vitex) in November and with in two cycles I was cycling every 28 days instead of 40 to 60 days.... I've been very pleased with the results.

Mine looks like a deflated balloon all wrinkled and saggy  I have seen pictures around on the site here that show after considerable time (and usually lifting) skin can shrink and get tighter. Certainly not a miracle cure, but marked improvement. But I agree I'd rather the loose skin over fat.

For me stomach fat is the first place I gain it last place I lose it. Even then I don't have any waist, from the bust down I'm just straight. I've little hope to ever change that fact. What I have done is come to terms (most days) with my body shape. My goals are around heath and fitness, and if my biggest complaint is a…

I've had laser hair removal. On places where I've non-hormonal hair issues it works very well. On my face and chest it does work but more dark hair keeps growing in, so without going regularly it's a bit of a losing battle.

Love love love this post! This *kitten* does blow! Lol

I too have issues with depression, anxiety and panic attacks. For me (everyone is different) my estrogen dominance exasperates those issues. I take I take Estrosmart Plus with Vitex, which has reduced a lot of my estrogen dominance issues. It hasn't cured my anxiety, but it certainly hasn't made ur worse either. Plus I'm…

I've also been reading about a potential link between early puberty, and PCOS. Interestingly enough I was put on my first diet at 10 because of rapid weight gain (though I wasn't actually fat), my period started at age 11. I've never really made that correlation before, but there very well could have been the trigger for…

I too have autoimmune and PCOS. I have psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis. I got psoriasis at 16. It's hard to tell definitively when my PCOS started, but was only able to control my weight by starvation tactics by the time I was 13 or 14, and needed to start hair removal on my face by 16. So my guess is I've had it since…

Just to add my two cents to the fantastic information from Dragonwolf  I couldn't handle estrogen based BC, it made me turn into a crazy emotional wreck, but do OK on progesterone based BC. So if you are on BC certainly can be a factor either way. I've also been doing better since I've started both Inostitol and…

You found the right spot, make sure now you've gotten a diagnosis that you've a doctor willing to help address the issues. One thing you'll find is that there is not 100% guaranteed way to address this. It may take some time, and trial and error. This is why it's so important you've a doctor willing to work with you on…
