You should totally do it! I did the Renaissance Center climb here in Detroit. I"ve done it for 5 years now. The first year was still my best time, because I trained for 5 months. (the consecutive ones, I didn't train as well) Up and down stairs 3 days a week. And climbing stairs is an AWESOME workout!!!! Lots of calories…

Probably stuff that no one else likes.. I like listening to bands like God Smack, buck cherry, Kiss to get me going during workouts....The intensity of the songs helps. Of course, sometimes I throw in old-school Rap (Beastie boys, Run DMC....) for my cardio!

yes, I go slower, or I do something "less"..i.e. if i don't have the strength for a full blown workout..i do 'easy' riding on the exercise bike. Or tell yourself, you'll work out for 10 minutes and if you still feel like crap, then you can guilt-free, not workout for the day. 9/10 I feel better and continue the workout. On…

OH also, cut a grapefruit in half. Top with a bit of cottage cheese mixed w/your sweetener of choice. I use brown sugar. broil until melty!

For the cottage cheese haters..I put mine in a food processor, to get rid of the lumps (can't stand them)..Then do 1/2 c.c and 1/2 "diet" flavored yogurt. I like it becuase it cuts down on the sugary taste, but you don't taste/feel the cottage cheese

Don't listen to the haters. You do not have a goal that is unreasonable or unhealthy...You have to do what makes you feel good and right for your body. Keep plugging away at the clean eating. Also, maybe cycle your calories...1200 1 day; 1400 the next; or change the amount of carbs each day. Seems to be helping me. Higher…

haha...aren't they all???? !!!

PS good luck! It's tough being a caregiver, and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Yes, the doctor should be able to tell you. I think I was home w/my husband for about 3 days (well, 5 w/the weekend).. Enough so he wasn't on as many drugs and was coherent. He could hobble around enough to get from the couch to the kitchen to the bathroom. I had to help him upstairs for a while. I think he was off of work…

I use Stevia, but it does have a weird aftertaste. You have to make sure not to use too much. Too much=more aftertaste... And different brands taste different. I've tried a few different brands. I found that I like the Trader Joe's version of it. I can't stand Truvia. I would rather go w/o sweetener if I had to use that.:-)

it's like saving time putting all the forks together in the dishwasher, and all the spoons..so then you can just pull them out and put in drawer. Dont' you have to sort them either way? Anyway, I think it' s for people like me who get up w/0 seconds to spare in the morning, so watching my oatmeal bubble over int the micro,…

Also, you could freeze it and tell yourself you'll have it later, and then next week throw it out! Or donate it to work? I take all my mom's goodies to work.

A doctor can really de-rail you, since we are "cultured" to look at them as an authority figure. However, the good thing about getting older, is that you learn, that you KNOW your body and you KNOW you are smart. You learned a lesson that you got a quack doctor. And I've been there. And it's VERY upsetting. You know she's…

Love it! you crack me up! You will do well!

I feel your pain. I've been trying to lose 5lbs for 6 months now! It could be water weight..it could be more muscle holding onto the water (it needs the water to repair itself)... It's harder for those of us who do exercise regularly. You may lose 3 lbs next week...

Don't worry too much about it. The Red Cross standards for Iron are higher than say "average" iron levels. I would talk to the dr next time you go in. I don't like iron supplements, as let's just say, they screw up my gut. You know, in Ireland, for low blood iron, the dr's recommend a Guiness a day. No joke! it has a lot…

Yes! building muscle will help , and will help with your running! You may not see as much weight loss on the scale.. Last year,I joined a fitness class..my weight did not change, but i lost 4" on my waist ! Muscle burns more calories than fat!

It's because they are jealous adn they don't want to put in the work. Just keep quiet or I like lady raven's response..."I don't want it back"....If they are going to be rude, there's no reason you can't get a little quip in :-)

Hi Everyone! I'm Gail out of Detroit MI. 44 years old. Desk job. 1 daughter. Enjoy bicycling and being outside. Have always worked out and eaten reasonably well. I'm tired of dieting and seeing nothing for my efforts. This is it. Joined a "fat blast" challenge where they are measuring me EVERY week! and I can use all the…

Get through the workout? I can't get through the warm up without stopping! And this is my 2nd time through it! :-)

I'm in for a 100. This will be indoor miles though on the trainer. TOo cold outside (and dark by the time I get home) for me! I'll have to check to see what I rode last night! Great group! I find it hard to find other cycling geeks!

I can use this! Please add me! Gail
