There is a marginal of error for everything even counting the calories in your food. The law allows for a 20 percent error when creating those lovely little nutrition labels we all rely so heavily on. So yes nothing is 100 percent but to get the most accuracy, I think the HRM is the way to go.

I know what you mean cause I hate having to take a rest day, and I usually don't unless my body is screaming for it like today. I like to have a lot of calories to work with through out the day, which is why I workout at 5am so I know what I'm dealing with the rest of the day.

I always eat what I want, just in moderation, and making sure it fits into my nutrition allowances for the day. The only way to be accurate is to invest in a heart rate monitor with a strap. I use the Bowflex brand.

Well I was never fit, or real active. I started with Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred, her dvd's provide your with 20 minutes of cardio plus circuit training.

5 pounds a week is a lot, I'm curious as to what your meals consisted of, because without creating a calorie deficit I don't see how it's possible unless you lost a lot of water weight which people tend to do when they first start working out.

I personally think you will be okay with 64 ounces. I try to get as close to a gallon a day as possible for myself, to ward off high sodium levels. Try it for a week and if you notice any negative change in your weight you may have to up it again..
