Not all healthy food is expensive. It’s all about shopping SMART! I have six kids and my house is not filled with boxed food and junk. There’s fruits, nuts, yogurt, etc. I can feed my family of 8 on $500-$700 a month ( I am not on food stamps) and my friend gets almost double that on food stamps.

I believe there should be a restriction on what food is allowed to be purchased with food stamps. The WIC programs tells you exactly what you are allowed to have. Plus they also hand out forms on Healthy eating choices when a person picks up their checks.

Sometimes the deals are not that great. We do it for fun, I bring my daughters with, it a challenge to see who can get everything on their list before the items are gone. It's just good times and great memories. A bit crazy, Yes, but we laughed and look forward to it each year! Last year we stood in line for a couple hours…
