  • I agree with Wadesha about eating a banana. Try drinking water up to 1/2 hour before your workout and chew some sugar free gum during your workout to keep from getting dry mouth.
  • Before going to the Doctor, I iced it and then used a heating pad, slept on the floor, slept with pillows between my legs on my side then a small pillow under my lower back. I never thought about an air mattress. Thanks for your response hopefully you'll get some good helpful ideas too.
  • Thanks this was very helpful. I'll check out that website.
  • Go to your foods section and add in the Cappuccino Blast and Ice Cream. Once you see how many calories are in that and how long it'll take you to work it back off, hopefully you'll realize it's not worth it. Drink some water and chew some gum. That sometimes helps me with my cravings.
  • Hahaha! I would tell myself that those things are moldy and maggoty. Try the visualization, it works! If it doesn't work for you than pick the lesser of the evils and go for a Tootsie Roll.

There are some great motivational stories and discussions about different exercise DVDs and such. Feel free to add me as a friend for…

  • I have been totally addicted to Zumba for months. The Wii isn't as much fun as the live classes. I am currently looking for a kickboxing class in my area to change things up a bit.
  • Bump - Thanks for sharing, sounds yummy!
  • If you don't take care of yourself and your health you won't be able to care for your family either. He is probably acting that way so you WILL go back to your old ways. I'm not sure he wants to separate but wants to go back to the way it was. Change isn't always easy on people. Have you talked with him about your health…
  • I would recommend that you always try to eat back as many of your exercise calories as you can. Try some post workout protein smoothies. My current favorite is EAS Chocolate Fudge protein drink put in blender add banana, peanut butter and 4-5 ice cubes.
  • Try a handful of almonds or a can of green beans. Green beans are low calorie but any vegetable would probably work.
  • You are making great progress with the 1 pound a week. Try taking your measurements to so you can track inches lost. As you are dieting and exercising your body shape will change and the scale isn't always the best indicator of those changes. This way you can see that while you may not be losing pounds as quickly as you'd…
  • Since you're not a big meat eater try to add more nuts - almonds are a great choice, low-fat cottage cheese, string cheese, natural peanut butter or almond butter. Also try making smoothies with protein powder added. One of my favorites is 1 cup almond milk, 1 medium banana, 2 TBSP Natural Peanut Butter, Sugar free…
  • I know how skipping an exercise when you're on a roll can be depressing. I know you don't want to slack off to much and lose the momentum you've gotten going. So good for you that you plan to walk at lunch. Can you walk somewhere and get a salad, lowfat cottage cheese or a gas station that might have some protein drinks…
  • I agree with the others nuts, protein shakes or lowfat cottage cheese and my personal favorite natural peanut butter would help bump up your calorie intake.
  • I sent you a friend request. You'll find lots of encouragement here. Keep checking the Introduce yourself section throughout the day and add other people that post about wanting support. That is how I started off, then you can look at some of the blogs about different challenges if any interest you try to join. Usually…
  • Here's an article that might be helpful: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/sclark48.htm Give yourself a break, more of us have had these days than you'd care to count. Sometimes the weight loss journey is long and bound to be filled with pitfalls.
  • I just saw this article on Livestrong about Lambrusco. Sounds good, I'd say go for it! http://www.livestrong.com/article/319172-calories-in-riunite-lambrusco/
  • Sounds like you might want to go see a different doctor. I switched doctors after mine told me to join Nutrasystem because I had gained 30 pounds in 1 1/2 years while still maintaining healthy eating and exercising daily, sometimes twice a day trying to lose the weight. I went to another Doctor and requested that she have…
  • Your diary doesn't show as open. How much water are you drinking? Try adding some Benefiber to one of your drinks for the day. It doesn't have any flavor or funny texture.
  • I'll send you a friend request! I've had a similar experience.
  • How about chopping them adding them to you ground beef and rice mixture and putting it all into a casserole dish and baking it altogether? You might want to add some V-8 or tomato juice so it won't get dried out.
  • I do a handful of raw almonds or a can of green beans with pepper no salt.
  • "And again, how do people with eating disorders lose so much weight by starving themselves if the body has the whole "self-preservation" mode?" Well, I'm not an expert but my daughter struggled with anorexia starting at age 11 she is now 18 and is at an acceptable weight. She too has a hard time looking at herself when she…
  • I like to have grilled chicken, strawberry, mandarin oranges and sliced almonds. I used spinach for the base salad. My favorite dressing with this is light poppy-seed dressing but a raspberry vinaigrette is also tasty.
  • Looks like you have already have gotten lots of great advice. I have self esteem issues as well. First off we need to love ourselves not hate ourselves, easier said than done. Start off by telling that little voice in your head that says all these negative things about you to sit down and shut up. It'll never leave you but…
  • You' re an inspiration to the rest of us! We all want to feel sexy again. I'm all happy for you and you give me hope. Thanks!

  • Back in 2003 I did the Body for Life diet and exercise program. They advocate for a cheat day where you don't exercise. The first few weeks I lived for those days. The key here was that after a week of totally clean eating when I did eat whatever I wanted like pizza or fast food, I literally felt physically ill the rest of…
