If I know I am going out to eat or to a party, I will try to plan my day around it to leave extra calories for the occasion. If I can, I look at the menu and nutritional values ahead of time. That has really made a difference for me in choosing wiser. If I want dessert, I have it, but I share. If I want wine, I have a…

Oooohhhh.... I forgot about Curtis Stone! I'd let him cook for me any day ;)

Monday QOTD - If you could have a celebrity trainer or celebrity chef come and work with you for a month, Who would you pick and why? I guess Rachel Ray because she is really the only one that I know. Her food seems pretty "normal" too.

10/24/11 weigh in - 143.6 - back on track!

What is the one thing you can do today, that you could not or would not even try last year at this time? Run. I am up to a little over two miles and my ultimate goal is to run a 5K next spring. Drink water. I drank diet Pepsi morning until night. Then I switched to Propel zero. Now it is plain water. Baby steps got me…

This sounds like fun. I am not good at this game at all, but maybe the "forced practice" of this challenge will help. What a great idea!

QOTD Friday: Since it's Friday, a fun question: Who is your style icon? Who's look do you admire, and how do you emulate it? This can include a fitness role model, but doesn't have to. I don't have an answer for this. I've hated clothes shopping for the past few years since I never liked how anything looked on me. Now that…

I love spending time with my two black labs, Chelsea and Mindy Lu. I also enjoy reading, photography and scrapbooking. And I love visiting all of the Ohio wineries near where I live. I also enjoy traveling and have two trips coming up: NYC in December and a Caribbean cruise in March. I can't wait. The cruise is what…

2nd QOTD for Wednesday: Is there a song, movie, poem, or painting that has inpired you in your weight goal quest? Not really. But I do notice that I run faster when I am listening to my Lady Gaga playlist. Now she has a body that I would kill for!

Not really. I'm just doing this for me. My mom, dad and sister have always been thin. I was too until I was diagnosed hypothyroid (there were some other things going on in my life as well). There were some people in my life that were having success with MFP so they gave me the idea to use this site specifically. One was a…

My new food - cauliflower! You are all probably laughing at me right now, but I have never tried cauliflower until this week. For the most part, before May, I thought I hated veggies and hardly ate any. Since then I have discovered that I like zucchini, broccoli and asparagus. And now I can add cauliflower to that list! I…

Tuesday QOTD: How many cheat days/rest days do you allow your bodies and how would you describe your cheat days? I don't have a set cheat day. When I have plans like I did last weekend (dinner party at my cousin's house), those types of days become my cheat days. As for rest days, I try to do at least some type of…

I think I would be 28, which is seven years younger than what I am. Not sure why I picked that age. I would like to get the spare bedrooms in my house organized. Right now they are mostly storage units that need to be cleaned out badly. I did get rid of a bunch of stuff this summer at my parents' garage sale so that was a…

Great job everyone!! And a special shout out to my blue team - Way to go!!! MONDAY QOTD: What exercise combinations work best for you/do you see the best results with?? For me right now, it is all about the cardio. I still have a decent amount of fat to burn. I have had a lot of success jogging/walking (c25k three times a…

I lost 5.8 lbs during the first challenge!! I am really excited, especially since my birthday was last weekend, and I definitely celebrated  I am excited for the new challenge. I do great with my water during the week (usually 80-96 oz a day), but I tend to forget to drink it on the weekends. This challenge will…

I don't limit myself to what foods I eat; I just limit portions and frequency. But if I had to pick one, I would say donuts. I have stopped buying them, and when I know they will be in the office, I try to bring a chocolate Vitatop to enjoy instead. But sometimes, like yesterday, I cave in. I did only eat 1/2 a donut,…

Love it! Thanks!!

I carry my weight in my stomach and thighs. Right now I am more focused on cardio to burn overall fat. I recently took up running (c25k) and am at the point where I now run the entire time. The days that I don't run, I walk fast. I will do squats, lunges, crunches, in front of the television sometimes and figured I would…

I am proud that I am a self-sufficient independent woman. I have a great job that I have worked hard for (I was the first one on my mom's side of the family to go to college). As far as recent accomplishments, I started c25k six weeks ago and ran my first two miles nonstop this week. I have never run before, never wanted…

My dogs are my kids and a priority, so even when I am really busy, I try to at least walk them around the block (1.5 miles) because I know they need the exercise just as much as I do. Also, if that isn't an option, I will workout while watching TV - treadmill or a combination of jumping jacks, squats, situps, pushups,…

What a great idea! Thanks for starting this. Walking/jogging (I am at the end of week 6 of c25k) is my preferred method of exercise. I love to come home, do the c25k on the days that I'm suppose to, and then walk the dogs. On the days that I don't have c25k, the pups get a longer walk :) Unfortunately, this is my really…

I am eating nonstop. Breakfast when I get to work. Mid-morning snack. Lunch. Two snacks in the afternoon because I tend to eat dinner later. Dinner and then a snack before I go to bed. I joke around that volume-wise, I eat more than I used to. It's just that I make better choices now.

Great first week ladies!! MONDAY QOTD: What tips can you provide to help stay on track when life get's hectic? When I know I am going to be busy (like this week at work since it is quarter end), I preplan my meals so that I won't be tempted to run out to lunch or stop and get something on my way home from work. I also keep…

Hello ladies, I'm Christi, and I'm from Mentor, OH. I participated in the last two Diamond challenges as a Little Diamond (my first challenge after joining MFP in May). I am very excited to be continuing the Diamond challenge with all of you. I have met some great ladies through the challenges and can't wait to meet more…

October 10 - 145.4 Also, I am going to change my goal weight to 132.0. I think it is more realistic AND it will get me to a normal BMI by Christmas! Hope you all had a great week!

Congratulations!! That must be such an amazing feeling.

Since I love sweets and am the resident baker of the family, I decided to share one of my favorites with you. It is so easy to make. I have found them in the frozen organic section at Giant Eagle (local grocery store) and in the frozen section at Target. They are a bit pricey, but for a once a week treat, I think it's worth it. :)
