  • Yt happens with a consistent deficit, so the conrubuting actions are not exclusively limited to the kitchen.
  • Your posts highlights a lot of dysfunctional thinking imo, which is not only a waste of time, causes you more stress, but also undermines your effectiveness. You arent helping yourself and you need to change your attitude/ approach. 1. Learn from your mistakes, losing is only part of it, keeping it off with your…
  • Disagree on cardio. the high intensity v steady state argument is one that rages on and on, but i find a mixture works well. For cardio unless its VO2 you wnat then overall calorie burn is importnat. How much cardio are you actually doing and how many calories a day are you burning?
  • +1 and what the others said. Seriously stop makibng such a big deal of it as well as the its dreaful stuff. Reality you ate a bit of extra food over your tragets. Give yourself a break be a bit more mindful and stop fretting its a serious waste of time. Log the food and just be mindful of the overeating and gradually…
  • Already highlighted that for me there would be an out of control element for a significant amount of calories, so a bing would really be 2000 and more likely 3000+ calories. Anything less is just a bit of overeating or a pizza. A truly out of control binge would last for a sustained period. Calling it a binge when you are…
  • So what are your stats, age height start// current weight. How many calories a day have you been eating? Sounds like you are starving your way there.
  • Ofc as they said you dont need to workout in theory, but I think fitness is an equally as importnat as simple weight loss. Why dont you want to be fit and healthy?
  • Your ticker says you have 46 left to lose?
  • So you have decided to be miserable about a situation that no longer exists? That makes sense.
  • LAP why are you thread necroing mean people threads from years ago? You were asked not to do it last time and here you are doing the same again.
  • Yes you will lose them if you lose the excess weight. No spot reduction, but you can exercise the underlying musle.

  • Hydration, blood sugar, stress are my first checks.
  • I eat chocolate, quite a lot.
  • Its been very importnat for me as a part of getting fit and helping with the aspect jemh has pointed out. Being able to fuel your workout properly doesnt mean you have to eat 100% of your calories back. You do have to put a lot of work in to burn significant calories though. I'm all for a mix of cardio and weights.
  • This appears to be soemthing you have given great thought to, tell us more.... Btw the PT has to have something worth teaching and have a compatible style thats worth listening to. A lot of PTs are clueless or put differently they do not inspire confidence that its worth paying for their service.
  • Things that are anti social and affect my gym experience. Normally I dont care but: If im waiting to use a p;poece of equipment and they are ocupying but not using it for a long time, then thats annoying. I mean over 15 minutes and they are doing zilch, cept maybe surfing on their phone. The other one is where they get…
  • So did you actually eat an extra 7000 calories worth of food? You do realise its just a fluctuation. When you look at whats happened and why, then compare that with how you have decided to feel, it doesnt make sense and you are stressing yourself out over very little.
  • errr just have a normal varied balanced diet with 5 fruit and veg plus some lean protein, then you wont need any.
  • No worries OP it wasnt aimed at you and this is a recurring subject in which its a popular mantra to decry MFP and its estimates. Start at whatever estimate you have , then just judge by results over time and save yourself any worry. Your body gets the benefit of every single calorie burned whether you log or bot and its…
  • Can we not forget that the users are often very poor at selecting the right category and overemphasise their own effort.
  • Notwitshtanding the clorific deficit, which doesnt really get youy any furtehr forward and is a given, then you really arent appreciating the fact they are different and complementray which is why you do both. Once you understand that, then youll realise when you look back at it you are just looking at it wrongly.
  • This its a good strating point and it has some basis.
  • when you arent losing for an extended period its because: 1. You are eating more than you think. 2. Burning less than you think. 3. Your logging and weighing methods are inaccurate. 4. You arent being patient or accounting for the non linearity of weight loss including fluctuations. 5. You havent set the right calorific…
  • Yes some bikes and the rower come to mind. People love just to dismiss all machines, even the half the people dismissing them dont even use them. There are still some variations though, especually for the amount burned just sliding up and down.
  • +100 some of you just make it too hard and life is short enough as it is. OP relax and just keep an eye on your weekly or longer periods of whether you are in deficit or not. One day is just one day and a small part of your journey, keep it in perspective.
  • If you are at a consistent calorific deficit over time, then you will lose weight. You need to understand that its all about calorie counting and being able to create and control your deficit.
  • Log it and move on, the sky isnt going o fall in. If you wnat to or have to make up the deficit then do it in a healthy sustainable way. Maybe add a 20 min walk each day for a few weeks. Never eat below 1200 (unless long term 5:2) and dont cut calories in the way you are suggesting becayse its too reactionary and an…
  • As you are new then id go in person. Eah gym has a different character and the value of checking it out in person is that you cna look around, get a feel for the atmosphere, ask questions and see how friendly the staff are. You calos get to look at the equipment, see how busy it is and the clientele. Some of these are hard…
  • You can become more efficient at the activity you are doing by being a better runner, rower etc, which will mean you can manage the same distance with less effort all things being equal. I doubt the variation is large, but its still there. Ofc you have the potential to burn more by being able to go further or faster, but…
