I'm not trying to be mean, just trying to help you out. Look some things I don't weigh. I don't weigh eggs, low calorie vegetables, and honestly guesstimate low calorie fruit, but I'm also losing at a reasonable pace. If I stop seeing any progress, then I will tighten up and start logging and weighing more accurately. If…

As we keep repeating, even packaged foods aren't always accurate. According to you, you started in mid April and have not lost any weight. It doesn't matter if you don't eat potato chips or ice cream or limit your red meat consumption. If you're not in a caloric deficit, you're not going to be losing weight. Clearly…

The 'starvation myth' is often a misinterpretation of 'adaptive thermogenesis' which is a slowing of the metabolism when in a severe caloric deficit. While starvation mode (i.e. slowing of the metabolism) is a real physiological response to starvation, it is 1) not enough to offset the initial deficit that induces said…

Haha be thankful. It's actually quite sad how much petite women burn. Like even though I have the bmr of a small child, I still want to eat the same as a fully grown man.
-
I didn't mean to discount walking, and you're right that it can create a crazy calorie burn for some. But way too many people overestimate walking, and most people aren't walking 10 miles on the daily. Anyways I said I personally wouldn't count it, because as a petite woman I burn close to nothing walking. Depends on the…
-
Honestly I wouldn't. Even intentional walking isn't going to give you that much of an extra calorie burn. Personally I think I only burn like 100 calories after walking like 2 miles.
-
I would personally set your exercise level to sedentary and sync whatever app you're using to count steps with myfitnesspal. Then it should adjust your calories in accordance to how many steps you take.

Ugh don't ever buy Marantha Coconut Almond Butter unless you plan on finishing like the whole thing in a day.

Be happy in your progress. It's great that you are stronger, flexible, and in a better place mentally. I'm not trying to take that away from you. But don't be fooled into thinking that your plateau is because of eating too little calories. While hormones play an essential role in regulating the body, they don't cause your…

Yeah none of this is correct. I don't mean to sound rude, but I see you've fallen for a lot of the common weight loss myths. 1) You are not gaining weight because you are eating too little. I'm not going to go into why the 'starvation mode' is a myth, there are plenty of other threads that go much more (arguably too much…

Pork. Poultry. Seafood. Beans. Dark green leafy vegetables Dried fruit Iron-fortified cereals, breads and pastas. Or just take a multivitamin with iron.

Nope doesn't seem that high at all. At 5'4'' 108lbs I burned around 2100 a day (with strength training and cardio). Considering you're training for a marathon, 2200 seems completely reasonable. You should probably schedule an appointment with your gynecologist as well (your doctor will most likely refer you to him…

Personally after your marathon I would try gaining some weight. I've always been thin framed and super active, so I'm more prone to accidentally lose weight rather than accidentally gain. Whenever I got too low (i.e. 5'4'' 108lbs) I'd personally always lose my period and have to take medroxyprogesterone to medically induce…

Honestly, you really shouldn't be having so much anxiety over maintaining a 'perfect weight'. For me, maintenance is a certain range rather than a specific number. For instance this past fall I lost about 7lbs (unintentionally) from stress. This spring I gained 10 lbs (unintentionally), because I was focused on graduating.…

I'm surprised that they let you donate blood. I thought the Red Cross required females to be at least 5'5'' and weigh at least 150lbs for this very reason. I'm just curious, because I've always though I wasn't eligible to donate blood because of my height/weight/low blood pressure.

If you're talking about general fat loss, of course they would lose more fat eating 800 calories vs. 2000. If you're talking about fat to muscle ratio, they would probably maintain more muscle mass on 2000 calories. But when you're morbidly obese you have more serious health issues to worry about than cannibalizing muscle…

Go back and read my second post, I wasn't criticizing her in the slightest and actually provided the solution (poor posture) to her problem. If anyone's ignorance is showing here, it's yours.

I wasn't using cardio in a derogatory term at all. Besides strength training, I also love doing cardio. All I meant by this was low weight/high reps is more of an aerobic exercise, rather than an anaerobic one. While I suppose this is mostly semantics, I do think it's important to differentiate. Yes it does all fall under…

I'm sorry, 10-15lbs isn't exactly strength training, more like weighted cardio. On a separate note, OP check your posture when using the computer. I found that most of my neck pain came from poor posture when working on a computer, rather than strength training.

As the above poster said, muscle and fat are two separate things and cannot be converted into one another. When you lose weight you're unfortunately going to lose both muscle and fat. What you want to do is try and minimize muscle loss, while maximizing fat loss. Some things to help minimize muscle loss while dieting are…

What about coconut cream? It's 140 calories for 2 tbsp. It's not as calorically dense as olive oil, but significantly better tasting.
-
No problem. But again what are your stats (height, weight, and level of activity). 1,200 calories can be a reasonable deficit for some shorter women, but isn't reasonable for others. Supplements are fine, but they're meant to supplement your current lifestyle. If you're diet and exercise aren't in check, all of those…
-
I previously saw one of your posts about the supplements you currently use. I don't mean this to sound rude, but you really don't need to have a preworkout, intraworkout, and post workout for only a 40 minute workout. These supplements are really meant for people that are having long high intensity training sessions. I…

I don't even think we need to wait that long. Sunday is her off day, which in my opinion is a recipe for disaster.

Sounds about right. When I was 5'4'' 108lbs (I bulked up to like 117), I ate about 2,300 calorie, but I walked like 10,000 steps a day and did both weight training and cardio. In my opinion, if you are hungry don't be afraid to eat more or even gain some weight. From personal experience, I wasn't the healthiest at 108lbs.…

Always always measure peanut butter with a scale. It's amazing how a a tablespoon of peanut butter is never really just a tablespoon of peanut butter.
-
I agree with the idea that you should cut first instead of bulk. Since you're relatively new to lifting and a 20 year old male, you would probably be able to put on a bit of muscle while still leaning out.
-
I had a feeling that this would be the case. Thanks for the response.

Bone broth is normally recommended as a pretty healthy way to increase sodium intake.
