Good plan, besides if you're new to lifting you can still put on some muscle mass in a deficit. It's only when the newbie gains stop that you might want to consider recomping.
-
Honestly I wouldn't recommend a recomp for someone who still has weight to lose. Recomping is a slow process. It certainly works, but only if you train hard and maintain proper nutrition. With that high a bodyfat percentage, you probably aren't going to see the results you want by just eating at maintenance. If anything…

@Gemini61454 I normally start off by cooking the oats and grated zucchini together on the stove top (you could microwave it, but I think the texture's better this way). Once it's almost cooked, I'll add in the egg white. The trick for adding in the egg white is to keep stirring to avoid it turning into scrambled eggs. Then…

I think I bought my digital scale for only $20 at like target. When it's digital, grams are just more accurate because (at least with my scale) it only goes to the tenths place for ounces. So basically if you're measuring something like olive oil, if the scale says 0.3oz it could be anywhere from around 5-8g.

Calories/ Carbs/ Fat/ Protein/ Sugar/ Fiber Something like this could work nicely. Under 300 calories without any additional toppings.

Yes, but you try and remove the most optimal variables first like inaccurate logging, incorrect TDEE calculation, incorrect exercise calories burned, water weight etc. Even if starvation mode is a thing (it's not though), it shouldn't be the first thing we consider. But according to a quote from the OP: "Thanks all... I…

OP is 5'2'', female, and 65 years old. Unless she's extremely active, 1200 is a perfectly reasonable goal for her.

Unless you're diabetic/insulin resistant/have specific health issues going over on sugar isn't a problem. Since you're a beginner, I recommend you mainly focus on your calorie goal. At the end of the day, weight loss is calories in vs. calories out. A lot of people on here get caught up with counting carbs, fats, etc. but…

Since they are just body weight squats I highly doubt you put on a significant amount of muscle during this squat challenge. Your legs probably look fuller due to either increased blood flow to the area (if measured sometime around exercising) or water retention for muscle repair. Women shouldn't be afraid to lift heavy in…

Honestly, the smith machine is probably hurting your form rather than helping it. It does a really poor job at mimicking the motion of a deadlift. Plus it supports a lot of the weight for you. Ditch the smith machine and start with a relatively light weight (even if it's just the bar). If your gym doesn't have bumper…

Bench pressing will actually increase the size of your chest, by increasing your chest muscles.

I thought I was the only one who occasionally craved tofu lol

I agree with everything rainbowbow said My observations are 1) You're pulling mainly with your back (notice how it curves even on the first rep) 2) You're rolling your shoulders 3) You're overall very unstable. Rainbowbow already addressed the back issue, so I won't repeat. But as for your shoulders, make sure your arms…

Bulking while getting a six-pack lol, good luck with that.

A calorie deficit, exercise, and willpower. No supplement or powder is going to make you lose 100lbs. Sure some may marginally help, but at the end of the day they're supplements not magical potions.

The least offensive walden farms product is their pancake syrup, it's a great replacement for honey. It's much thinner and waterier, but hey it works for me. Although I personally don't mind their other sweet syrups, they do have a very chemically taste so they're best when mixed with other things. I don't really buy the…

Greek Yogurt Cookie Dough calories/ carbs/ fats/ protein/ sugar/ fiber

Not true, I eat one every day and I'm not even trying to lose weight. At the moment my favorite is smoked salmon, avocado, edamame, beets, spinach, goat cheese, and balsamic vinegar.

Back when I was a gymnast I could eat anything and not gain a single pound. Think family sized frozen lasagnas, whole stacks of pringles, cartons of ice cream, multiple slices of Cheesecake factory cheesecake. Not gonna lie my go to lunch every day of high school was a giant croissant with approximately half a block of…

I make this amazing greek yogurt cookie dough with a cup of plain nonfat greek yogurt, 1tbs coconut flour, 2 tbs powdered peanut butter, a tbs of chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and stevia. Definitely not the same thing, but it's a pretty healthy way to satisfy that cookie dough craving.

I actually grate zucchini into my oats. It gives them so much more volume and doesn't affect the texture at all. On top of that I normally add egg whites and protein powder to make it a more filling meal. The trick with adding egg whites is to add them right at the end and to stir often.
-
I must be a very lucky person than considering the amounts of raw cookie dough I've eaten in my life. Actually salmonella is quite rare in eggs. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the risk of an egg being contaminated with Salmonella bacteria is about 1 in 20,000 eggs. It's chicken you have to worry about.
-
Raw cookie dough also doesn't have any calories when baking. ;)

Lol this reminds me of when my friend and I were eating breakfast on vacation. I got a cinnamon roll and she comments. "Maybe you should get something with more protein in it, we're going to be walking all day." This would have been solid advice if she weren't eating a nutella croissant. According to her nutella is a…

It's just poor wording to say muscle weighs more than fat. It all has to do with density. A pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat. Just like a pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of lead. https://media.licdn.com/mpr/mpr/p/6/005/071/084/06b8238.jpg

I'm surprised no one mentioned Cellucor. I love their stuff plus it bakes really well.

I'm not sure if your wordplay was intentional or not, but this made me laugh way too hard.

How high carb low fat vegans can eat as many calories as they want without gaining any weight. Basically anything Freelee the banana girl says...
