I started on Sunday, and I'm really enjoying it. What weights does everyone use? I'm using 2.5 kg dumbbells, but I'm finding them too easy, so thinking about going up to 5kg. From a calorie point of view Day 1 - 471 Day 2 - 456 Day 3 - 339 I'll only be doing 30DS 5x per week, as I'm also doing pilates 2x per week and…

Wow, that's a great loss! You look like you've lost more than 10 lbs. I started the 30DS on Sunday, can't wait until the month is up! Well done on sticking to it!

That's an awesome, yet gross, picture! Thanks for that! :D I took my measurements so if I don't lose weight this month, I'll be able to check if I've lost cm.

I did day 3 of 30DS (I started on Sunday) - I loved it, and I did 2 sets of 20 pushups!! Sure, they were girly pushups from the knee, but that's way more than yesterday when I barely made it to 10 before my knees hurt! I'm going to try "proper" pushups tomorrow!

When I began, I started with seeing a PT 3x a week (had to reduce it to 2x a week after 2 months because it was getting expensive) so that I'd know what I was doing. I love it, so I spend my money on that instead of buying shoes all the time :) I also had really bad balance when I started, so bodyweight exercises have been…

Thanks for starting this group!! My exercise goals are: - Walk the dog for (at least) 30 minutes each day - 30 Day shred 5 days a week (not going to do 30DS when I've got the gym, unless I have the energy for it) - Gym twice a week - Pilates twice a week My dietary goals are: - Follow a low FODMAPS goal 80-90% of the time…

I've sent you a friend request - good luck :)

I rolled my ankle about 2 weeks ago, and the physio still won't let me run on it because it hasn't healed - injuries take time to heal! I've been having problems with the amount of jumping (jumping jacks, skipping rope, etc), so I'm being careful and listening to my body. I did more of the squats with the punching instead…

I do this as well - once a week, I ignore my calorie goal and eat what I want, and make sure that most days I'm a bit under my calorie goal.
-
I do this too - I weigh in everyday and update my fitbit account with it, but only update my MFP account once a week.

Sounds like a great idea! I started 30 day shred today, hopefully this gives me some accountability to actually do the DVD every day!! And I'm also trying to reduce my sugar intake at the moment - I just found out that I'm fructose intolerant, so no more sugary snacks for me! Feel free to add me, always happy to have new…

I eat greek yoghurt with about 5 strawberries cut up, or 10-20 raspberries. If you limit the amount of fruit, it's not too much sugar, and I pick low fructose fruit, because I'm fructose intolerant. I've been reducing the amount of fruit I put in because of my intolerance, and it takes a few days to get used to the less…

I love that article - thanks for posting :)

You could try taking measurements every month instead? That way, it doesn't matter where you are, and you only need a cheap tape measure :)
-
WOW! You look great, congratulations :)
-
That's awesome! And congratulations on your success!
-
OMG your story is amazing. Congratulations on sticking to it with all the challenges you faced!!
-
Congratulations, you look great!! I'm trying to lose 100lbs, I really like knowing that other people have been successful :) Thanks

Sent you a friend request - my goal for this year is to get to 99 kgs, but given that I'm currently 113, I don't think it's going to happen (but I'm still going to keep trying!) All the best for the VLCD - I had a friend at work that lost a lot of weight on it, he was put on it by his doctor, I think he did it for 3 months…

I agree - my friends know that I want to lose weight, and I've got a lot of weight to lose. When I lost the first 5kg (11 pounds) and told one of my friends, she said that was all she wanted to lose - when I said I wanted to lose 50kg (110 pounds) in total, I'm met with disbelief and questions of how much do I weigh, and…

After you log your food for the day, don't click the "complete this entry" button, and then it won't appear in the newsfeed. You can still see what you logged at the top. Just remember, the calories you're eating to are already at a deficit, so if you only go a little bit over, you'll still lose weight. If you've got…

Agreed.

I've been poaching chicken in mushroom stock, and steaming some broccoli over the top

About 18 months ago, the gym I was at had a boxing class, and i LOVED it. It was torture, the trainer worked us really hard, and I'd be sore for days, but it was great. I got really sad when they stopped offering it.

I'm going to start this very soon - I'm all prepared to start, but I hurt my ankle a week or so ago, so just want to rest it a bit more before I get back into doing things - mainly the cardio part of it. I'm a bit heavier than you, I'm 115kg / 253 lbs, but I'm not fussed by that, up until I hurt my ankle I was doing C25K…

My favourite is the ginger bulmers - SO DELICIOUS!

I'll send you a friend request - I'm trying to lose a bit more than 30, similar story- been married a year, put the weight back on plus a bit more....
-
WOW you look great - congrats on all your hard work paying of!!
-
I had a fitbit and I loved it! I paid more attention to the steps and flights of stairs each day, I wasn't too fussed with the daily calorie burn - if I wanted to know the specific burn for a specific activity, I'd wear my HRM.

Mine's hanging in the closest, it's been there for the past 14 months. Didn't get it cleaned, keep forgetting to Mine was made by a dressmaker, it's a tea length 50s inspired dress, so I will be able to wear it again if I want, I've thought about dying it another colour. Loved my dress.
