I'm 49, and looking to be as healthy as I can, and find a look I can be happy with. I know I'm never going to have the body I had when I was 18 (not that I was ever happy with it then!), just want to know I've done my best, and that I've not let age get on top of me. I'm hoping that's not too much to ask! Feel free to add…

It's all about the CHEESE for me! A friend (who will be here on Christmas Day) and I went to our local farmshop and chose some fabulous cheeses, and I've just typed out the cheese menu. Yes, there will be turkey, roast rib of beef and glazed ham, Christmas pudding, and banoffee pavlova, but I'll be holding out for the…

Already down three! Think I need to revise my Christmas goal

I'm in - if I lose 4lb I will be at the weight that MFP already thinks I am! (Don't record gains - too depressing!) Got a weekend away next week, but think I can still do it!

I guess the answer to that one is don't eat too many digestive biscuits! Keep them for treats and fill up on the lower cal stuff, like fruit and veg. And don't forget you can exercise to earn extra calories too! And no, all calories are the same. Lindsay

This recipe is a favourite in our house. It takes a bit more than just spinach, but is super good for you! http://www.aspoonfulofsugar.net/wp/2008/08/prosciutto-wrapped-salmon-with-herby-lentils/

Welcome Liz! Sounds like you're doing really well! I wish you continued success with the rest of your journey. Oh, and I lived in Berlin for several years, quite a long time ago!

You so will do it! You sound like you've got a great attitude and the determination to go with it. Set yourself some mini goals, so you have plenty to celebrate along the way. And add me as a friend if you like, Lindsay

Welcome to both of you and good luck with your weight loss - although luck has nothing to do with it! But you both sound determined so I'm sure you'll do great. Feel free to add me, more support and motivation is always good Lindsay

Each to his own surely? We're each on a personal journey here and should do what we feel is best for us. If your activity level is set as sedentary, then anything on top of that is extra, surely? And exercise doesn't have to be something you do in the gym. More important is constant movement, and nobody should be…

Hi! I'm Lindsay, 49, and hoping to reach goal (130lb) by Christmas (if only briefly!) Weight seems to be fluctuating at the moment though, so it's looking like a long shot! I'm a freelance journalist, married, with two daughters and two dogs.

I did mine on the treadmill, loved being able to control the speed.

That has truly changed your life - good for you for sticking with it

I'd love to join too please - it's always great to have friends in the same timezone! Feel free to add me, Lindsay

Sounds like just the motivation I need - if anyone has a spare invitation, I'd be grateful!

Why not add some raw veg as a mid afternoon snack?

I reckon she must have loaded up on water before the initial weigh in! Even so, that' s still pretty major. If she is always at the gym, then this can't be a new habit, and she must have been taking care of herself for a while so no reason for a huge initial loss! Whatever the reasons, it's certainly not healthy! How long…

This looks lovely - think my kids would love it to - thanks for sharing!

Just wanted to say well done on that 5k! That's really impressive! Sounds like you know what you really need to do about the evening munchies, but if you really can't switch to something low cal, why not just make sure you allocate some cals just for that, pre-plan what your munchies will be and stick to that? And…

HI Sara and welcome - you're in the right place! Lindsay

I run mine under the tap to dampen them and then coat them in dried stuffing mix and bake - delicious! In fact I'm going to do that tonight, now I've thought about it!
