Don't they have a clam bake? Maybe, get a salad. If you have room with cals go for light beer. They also probably have a grilled chicken sandwich too.

I think it goes without saying that we speak in generalizations here. Of course there are the exceptions, i.e. people, for example, who are physically unable to exercise. Or those people who shouldn't have had kids who have nothing to teach them about life, etc. But for the MAJORITY, we need to put personal responsibility…

I would have a couple of really good days, well, 3 probably before I weighed myself. That would probably be a more true reflection of any gain, minus water weight! I would wait on figuring out how much you've gained!

It is all about being honest. Stop lying to yourself. I lied to myself and others all the time, getting real works.

Actually they do, it's called health class. Most schools have them. Doesn't work, obviously. It's not the school's responsibility. It's the parents. Why don't people get this? Ah well, keep on keepin on! Just for the record, I still remember my state capitals.

Consider yourself blessed! Good work!

I always cook extra food at dinner, like extra chicken breast etc. I put together my lunch for the next day as I clean the kitchen that night. It's so easy! As far as snacks go, I keep frosted mini wheats with me at all times. It is my breakfast and usually holds me till lunch if I eat it slowly throughout the morning.…

My mom was a "mean mom" too  But she did it out of love. Whether it came to food or anything else, bargaining was not an option. I cannot tell you how often I hear parents bargaining with their children. Example, "you can get that candy only if you do x, y, and/or z" Or "If you sit quietly I will buy that for you."…

People (adults) do know better. They just choose not to care. You would have to be blind and deaf to NOT know that there are healthy foods and unhealthy foods. If you are fat, then you probably eat unhealthy foods. Then you do something about it. Or you don't. People know better, that's an excuse. It takes effort to cut…

I love looking in people's carts, I'm judgmental, I don't care, I'll admit it. That being said, I am going to go to the grocery store soon, I hope people aren't going to think that just because it's Jan. 1 that my cart is full of healthy things...hmm. I wonder if on Jan. 1 grocery stores see an increase in healthy…

I think we've ALL been there. Thanks for being so candid. Our feelings aren't always pretty, they are dark and they run deeply into every aspect of our lives. It isn't easy and I really feel that you have to get to a dark point in order to make a change. This site is a good first step, setting goals, and using the message…

It turned me from a tired, lazy slob on the couch to running a marathon in less than a year. Exercise is awesome, it's what we're meant to do. Look up "veal fattening pen" aka cubicle, so unnatural. Keep trying to find an exercise that you like, trust me. I never played sports in life at all, I like running because I don't…

Well, according to your pic, you've been on since Jan 2009? How much weight have you lost? If you haven't lost any, than you should probably change what you've been doing so far which is eating too few calories if that's the case. Plus, chances are you aren't here to gain weight so eating more calories than you're supposed…

It isn't anthrax, just do what you would normally do, only do less.

It should come with a pack of adult diapers, a spare pair of underwear, and an extra pair of pants-black of course.
-
Now is the BEST time to start! Best of luck, this really works!
-
Are you wearing pants in that picture??

Let's lay off the "unhealthy" remarks. Chances are, a person cannot sustain weight loss for a long period of time by not eating all their calories or working out too much. Our bodies will tell us when it's time to even off. Also, let's stop calling these people unhealthy. They are probably having a really good day, but as…

I hear you on that one. I ran a marathon in October and cannot get myself back on a consistent plan. I went to the gym today, ran for 5 mins, and left. I have lost my workout "mojo." What is worse is that I know what i am capable of and just can't seem to get it back. :(

I know that Ambien exacerbates the problem, perhaps other sleeping aids make it worse too?

I ran chicago this year as my first. It was the best day of my life! It was so emotional for me. I loved every minute of it and am looking forward to Illinois Marathon May 1st and then Chicago again in 2010!

Sounds fine

Running the chicago marathon this year was the best day of my life!

Before you know it you'll do a marathon. I started running a year ago and finished chicago this past october. It's addictive and the marathon was THE best day of my life. GO FoR IT! My pic on mfp is from the best day of my life, by the way.. :)

From what I understand, when you gain weight the size of your fat cells increase and they will also reproduce. So once you've "earned" that fat cell it's there for life. The size of it is what will change as you lose weight. They shrink and expand at the same rate.

phentermine?

It's all in how you order it. Go ahead and get the large (black), add sugar free vanilla and two creams on the side. You're good to go, never order anything in restaurants how they make it.

If you want to run, don't get a beagle. I have one and she stops to sniff everything constantly!
