Considering that I've lost 130 pounds, I'm very fortunate in the loose skin department. I'm bothered most by the slack in my thighs and butt. While I could totally use a tummy tuck and breast lift/implants, those areas aren't as bothersome to me. My arms have some looseness...but, again, not bad at all. Between obesity, a…

I like the Raw Rev Glo bars in Salted Caramel Nut and Chocolate (or something like that). They are almost like eating cookie dough...

I had gastric bypass July 2015. I was feeling great and had lost all of my excess weight a little more than a year following surgery. I got hit hard with fatigue, weight gain, and other symptoms since about September last year and it has been negatively impacting my running. My TSH has always been in the "normal" range so…

I also have a designation for each pair on my running spreadsheet so I can track the miles on each pair.

When you find a shoe or shoes) that works... buy a 2nd (or 3rd) pair to keep in rotation. I just added my 4th pair to my rotation...I do frequently run up to 10 miles every day andI believe it is important to let the shoe materials dry out and rebound for best life and performance.

Thank you so much!

@Aztec4Life I'm planning a full by the end of the year. I have my eye on a trail marathon in December.
-
Today marks 25 months since I made the decision to have weight loss surgery, my 41st birthday, and my sixth half marathon since completing my first in December.
-
I went from 0 to half marathon in a little less than a year. My goal this year is to run at least 1 race a month that is 10k or longer with a goal of a marathon in December. So far I've done a 25k trail run, a half marathon that went to the top of a bridge, back to back half marathons over two days, a 10k... and I have a…

@jcavanna2 Target carries Califia Farms!

So excited for you! I wouldn't mind having the chesticles tuned up... but I can't commit to the recovery time yet!

@jcavanna2 Did you know that Syntrax has some stevia sweetened products? Syntrax Naturals. I haven't tried them yet because I don't mind defiling the temple of my body with artificial sweeteners (and I just discovered them) but I haven't had a Syntrax product yet that I don't like! Chocolate Whey Shake mixed with Califia…

@jcavanna2 Thank you for the show of support. I think I've found it even harder because I don't get heartburn...I have other symptoms though (loss of smell, repeat ear and throat infections, mucus-y throat) and my latest EGD showed signs of ongoing gastritis. I've had to cut back on my running miles too due to fatigue and…

@NicoleL874 I'm going to get another DEXA scan soon to see what is happening with my body fat. I definitely feel like I've put on some muscle mass but, of course, paranoid about any weight gain. I am +10 from my lowest weight for no discernible reason. I do feel like I'm entering early menopause too and that could be…

Ask your doctor about possible pancreatitis. That sounds an awful lot like what I experienced.

I particularly like Syntrax Matrix and Whey Shake products. However, nearly all protein powders are too sweet for me; I add cocoa powder, peanut butter powder, pumpkin puree, etc. to make different combinations and cut the sweetness. That being said, I'm obsessed with PE Science Amazing Snickerdoodle right now to make…

Keep bringing the entertainment! I'm living vicariously through you and, unbeknownst to him, keeping me extra appreciative of my husband!

Which procedure did you have? I had RNY and it was months before I could finish one scrambled egg at a sitting. I had trouble with chicken breast in any quantity for at least 6 months. Eat less and eat slower. I would also suggest that you measure the volume of your food. Depending on the density of what you're consuming,…

I want to go skydiving!

Adding to the alcohol awareness should be the discussion about substitute addictions and the studies that show a increased risk for alcoholism after WLS (specifically gastric bypass) due to the direct path to the small intestine.

I haven't been able to wear my wedding or engagement ring for a year. I finally got them resized since my weight has been stable for more than 6 months...I went from a 7.5 to a 6!

I did several headstands...and balanced one for nearly 30 seconds! ...and I pressed into wheel 3 consecutive times!
-
Last week I hulk-smashed my previous weekly mileage record of 70 miles with a total of just over 73 miles in 7 days...that included a 2 hour run on the 7th day!

@jcavanna2 As far as I know, there are no contraindications for melatonin. I can't use it as it puts me into way too deep of a sleep considering that I still have two young kids at home. I do use it and other pharmaceuticals (like sleep aids) when I am on business trips otherwise I wouldn't get any sleep at all. At home,…

I set a new personal record for weekly mileage...more than 70 miles this week!

I use these too! I often dissolve them, along with my bariatric multi, in my flavored water.

I'd suggest getting a DEXA scan and getting some metabolic testing done. You'll get a a better benchmark of your body composition and the metabolic testing can give you a better idea of where your caloric intake should be...especially since some of the newer studies have shown that weight loss surgery patients can have an…

That show can "scare me straight" every time!

I'm 18 months out and do a liquid day from time to time. I think a big part of it for me is showing myself that I DO have control over what I put in my mouth. It does often follow a day or days when I feel like I've gone off the rails a bit and need to focus and be mindful.

My new one will probably be a cover up!
