These area great ideas. Thanks! I think I'll have to try planning for a snack later in the evening. I think it's awesome that people can not eat at night, but I think that way would just set me up for failure.

I was a sparkpeople convert too. Like most people I felt it was just too cluttered. I could never find where I wanted to go!

A HRM isn't meant to be used as an all the time tool. It should be used when exercising to help you know how many calories you're burning. If you walk around a lot at your job I would make sure that you have the right normal activities set under your settings button.

I love seeing anyone who's serious about getting healthier at the gym. :)

I find that I have to wear the strap uncomfortably tight at the beginning of exercising. It does loosen a little, but it stays in place and I forget it's there pretty quickly,

Hi all! I'm a relative newbie to the nursing world with 6 months under my belt. I'm currently in an adult med/surg unit, but I trying to work my way into peds or community health. My ultimate goal is NP, but there's too much to figure out what I want to do before I go back to school. I lost about 15 lbs on this site a few…

I have nothing to add, but bump.

I'll be watching this thread. I feel the same way, but about both my parents. Though my mom is much more unhealthy. :( And it scares me that she may not be around to see her grand-kids one day. Any tips are certainly appreciated.

I got the Polar FT4F off of Amazon. I think I paid around $70. http://www.amazon.com/Polar-Womens-Heart-Monitor-Bronze/dp/B001U0OFD2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311606602&sr=8-1 It's a more "basic" model of Polar, but I really like it. The most important thing regarding any HRM you get is that you want a chest strap. It makes…

Oh nooooo! I'm late this week! :( I'm a maintain this week anyway though. I'm sorry I'm late though!

Second to all of this. I've had my Polar FT4 for about 2 or 3 weeks and really love it!

A gain this week. :( I'm at 169.8. Though I'm still happy to be under 170! :)

I wanted to weigh in early this week since I'm not going to be able to weigh in on Sunday (or tomorrow for that matter). My CW is 167.2, which is a huge loss. But I think it's because my previous two weights weren't accurate. Feel free to use it on Sunday, or register me as a maintain if that's easier. I just wanted to…

This, this, this! Most of the bikers where I live don't understand that if you're riding on the road you have to stop at stop signs and red lights. And you have to yield when applicable and pay attention to the road. I love the bikers that understand and follow the rules though.

In your photo album, there should be an option to share your photos. You want the IMG code. Paste that into your post and then change the uppercase IMG to a lower case img.

I use Your Shape in conjunction with the gym. It helps me hit the areas I miss at the gym, and lets me work out in less time so it's good for busy days.

If I felt like the gain was a slip to my lifestyle change and not just a fluctuation I would log it.

bump! Thanks for the recommendation!

I end up having pizza every Thursday. Is it the best? No. Is it the worst? Certainly not. I get veggies on it, watch what I eat that day, and enjoy!
-
Weight today is 172.4. Down a pound from my last week of maintain! Also, I'm going to be incommunicado from next Saturday through Thursday. Should I just weigh in on Friday?
-
Mmmm... sounds delicious!

I'm glad to see this quick response! I've added everyone so far as a friend and am excited to share some great new veggie dishes!

I generally log it under dance, aerobic. Plus, there's a work out mode, that gives you an estimate of calories burned. So you can tweak the time to get close to the game's estimate if you want.
