Morning Ladies! Friday check in. I hope to see more of you here. But I will report. Sept 2: 166 (-3.5) Sept 9: 166 (-0) Sept 16: 166 (-0) Sept 23: 163 (-3) Sept 30: 163 I bounced all over this week. High of 167 and finally back to the low again. Still need one more lb for loss of "new" weight. Bouncing is so frustrating…

Exercise really does help blood sugar doesn't it? I am contemplating all the gluten filled things around here. And working on ignoring or giving away. Like sugar and lactose, it is hidden in lots of processed foods. I don't eat much in the way of processed foods. About 5 soda crackers a week and some fish sauce in recipes.…

Thanks for the book reference too @Roseygirl1 . My town library (town less than 2000 people) won't have it but maybe I can borrow online or put it on my Christmas list.

Please have a look at the launchpad. Under the general area there are 8 different vegan or vegetarian links for those who are looking for vegetarian low carb advice. This may answer some questions. I have not looked deeper because I am struggling with other issues but it may help.

Fabulous! So much hard work and such a smile. Congratulations for staying the course every day. What an achievement.

i ate the cake at the golf club celebration. Spent last night and this morning in the bathroom. Do NOT eat the carbs. I am with you, Donna. We all do it; once.

Bump again. always get new insight when i visit the launchpad!

Thank you @kshama2001 for the website link. I am both gluten and lactose intolerant. My husband is diabetic and the doc wants him low carb and me to lower my fats. I have been struggling in finding recipes that fit all that and it is turning into separate dinners except for green veggies.
-
And @Roseygirl1 thank you too for the discussion on low carb bread. I have thought I was lactose intolerant for years (I may still be) but I have been struggling with mouth ulcers and other problems since going keto some months back. I was encouraged to go slow carbs to help and it has. But, I had the same reaction to…

I get into soups and stews as the weather changes. And cooked veggies over salads.

Now putting it in by weight. How very clever. I would have more hair if I was smarter. Thanks!

Interesting and thanks for doing this experiment and posting. Last check up, the doc said my ketones were fairly high. I was worried about A1C and asked and he muttered that he did not think I had a problem as he got the report out. A1C is good. Duh! I never put the two together.

Hi Pam, Yes, Christmas season is a coming! I know what you mean when you read the fine print. We are now making ice cream at home. Eggs, cream, and the sweetener we prefer. Tastes terrific and it is lactose free for me. I think homemade is the problem with their advertising but maybe they have to put the additives in by…

I think you will find a very helpful group. It is a large, friendly and a very knowledgeable group.

Frosty in the morning here in Ontario. Got to finish the garden chores before we get buried under a blanket of leaves.

Yeah @PamamaJane , there are lots more tall girls today that there were 50+ years ago. And for us shorties, they are unfortunately driving the length of leg in pants. When you have to cut half the pant leg off to hem, you end up buying only straight leg pants. I know, flood pants are problematic too! I sew now. And the…

Thanks @jbandsb2 . Sounds really good and I will try it soon. @magic18, I put my check in in week 4. You put yours in week 5. I will move mine. Please let me know if I am wrong.

Thanks guys for the support. The shorty club really has to watch the macros and the calories. Even mouthful has to have proper nourishment because we just do not have room in the diet for carbage. I had a blow out dinner tonight with lots of good things to eat. Nothing terribly carby except for a half cob of corn but I…

I too am using it on their site. No phone involved. It is right sometimes. And it imports correctly, sometimes. But I have found its arithmetic is wrong quite often when I eat 1 portion of a recipe that serves 4. For naming conventions, I use the main ingredient, and then the source in the name. It helps a bit. For…

Thanks @kmn118 . I had forgotten that trick. As I lose and get smaller (I am only 5 ft nothing) the serving sizes have to get smaller too. Good one that he can do. Otherwise, we get into that, "well I tried to do it right, I give up" discussion.

I found that the recipe thing was a bit weird about macros when it came to portions. I find the old one off to the right side of the recipe screen to be more reliable. Also the recipe box does not seem to be searchable. (I might be missing something though) so I am careful about naming conventions so that I can easily find…
