one of my favorite recent recipes is a 'honey pecan' chicken recipe i found on taste of home. it's a little higher on calories than a lot of 'light' chicken dishes because it's got honey, nuts, and the recipe calls for a bigger chicken breast. when i made it i didn't use any butter when browning the chicken (just cooking…

i did. between my birthday (on october 9th) and a week after new years day. lots of traveling, lots of potluck style parties, general holiday snacking, etc... i managed to gain 30 pounds. so yeah, major fail without the logging. :-\

i will have to try these... but with blueberry filling :) thanks for the post!

the only thing i really miss is not having to take the time to measure/weigh to account for my calories, it does take some extra time when preparing meals. not much, but it can get a bit tedious.

i have 100-110 left to go, depending on where i stop :)

there are times when i'm just like 'feh. gym. whatever. don't wanna...' but then i go. and always feel great afterwards. it helps that there's a big screen TV and nobody else there when i go with my husband.

raw baby carrots are a favorite for me to snack on. roasted brussells sprouts drizzled with a little garlic infused olive oil YUM. leafy greens in my salad (all kinds) the rainbow of bell peppers (particularly when sauteed with onions) recently, spaghetti squash as a bed for stir fry (veggies on top of veggies anyone?) and…

i tend to eat the bulk of my calories between 7pm and 8pm. then hubby and i go to the gym around 10pm. and i usually don't eat a thing at all before 2 or 3pm. why do i do this? because my major problem that caused me to GAIN weight was stuffing my face mindlessly at night when unwinding before bed. i even edited my diary…

it sounds like a very good idea :) i have clothes from where i started at a size 24, and i hope i won't ever have to see them again! last fall when i hit 50lb lost (and subsequently gained a bunch back over the holidays *sad*) i took a pile of clothes into the salvation army store, and then restocked (for all of 35…

yep! i signed my husband up a couple weeks ago... though he still hasn't quite got into it yet ;) i met him online 3+ years ago and we've been together since our first date. we started talking because of common interests in music and movies, and we grew from there. i don't see why that would be any different than dating…

YES. they are great. i've also made them with fruity pebbles and smacks... cereal + milk is probably one of my favorite 'junk' foods... i have to stop myself from eating 4 bowls at a time. just about any kind.

my husband and i planned when to have that talk, shortly after we got serious in our relationship, and after we learned he would be moving away for school. knowing it would either be "get married" or "four years long distance"... i told him i wouldn't wait 4 years for a 'maybe' without some kind of commitment. he…

raise your glass by pink. it's not what i typically listen to, but that song always puts me in a good, energetic mood!

skydive with my husband even though i've adamantly denied any desire to do so. hike a good portion of the Appalachian trail with my best friend.

i'm currently in the middle of the 2nd book of the 'outlander' series by diana gabaldon. time travel. romance. history. politics. the books are huge, too. i think the 7 books total something like 8000 pages!

"classic telephone" for general calls... (i'm so boring) "smile" by unckle kracker when hubby calls. :)

wow this got a lot more responses than i was expecting. thank you all for your input! i am very excited to be married and start a family, however, with so much going on with my husband's grad school adventure we won't actually settle until after he graduates. we're moving basically every summer. this august and next…

We are looking to have 2, maybe 3 children. Hopefully close together. He's in grad school right now to become a pastor. Once he gets established in a church after graduation in May 2014 (thus leading to financial stability and health insurance!), we're going to start trying to conceive. I work from home selling Tastefully…

i picked 165 because it's the high end of normal BMI... i plan on getting there and re-evaluating. 150 would be nice, though. so i could say i lost half my starting weight.

Hott by Ralph Lauren... i had money to burn one day, saw this pretty purple bottle with teal writing and lid and was like "ooh that's pretty, i'll probably never wear it though" and bought it anyway. my husband absolutely LOVES it, and it smells really good. sort of a cinnamon/vanilla scent with a light floral mixed in.…

and now i can't get "we're off to see the wizard" out of my head. thanks for that.

i wish i could run. i love the feeling of "yes i'm moving this quickly under my own power!" but unfortunately i'm too fat to do it comfortably as yet and my knees and particularly my right ankle which is still strengthening after having a torn ligament, do not like me running. so instead i do the elliptical or stationary…

i'm 5'9... started at (probably over) 300, currently right around 270, looking for 165... though i will probably reevaluate when i get below 200 and can actually get an idea of my natural shape.
