thanks all for the feedback! i had been looking at polar, because they are a big name and what are compatible with the work out equipment i have access to, currently. it looks like that might be the brand to go with. i was like I WANT TO GET ALL THE THINGS! a year ago when i started this, when it came to fitness…

polar seems to be the brand to get... i think that's the brand that works with the treadmills and elliptical in the gym here.

for videos, my collection is fairly limited, and suggestions on that are very welcome as well! i don't know how much access i'll have to fitness equipment from august 2012 to august 2013, so stuff i can do at home will be great. i have the billy blanks "boot camp' collection (4 DVDs + resistance bands), a few leslie…

i started to notice it at about 20-30 lb lost, when i got to 50 plus i didn't notice it as much (but it was summer time then).... then i moved and gained back half of what i'd lost in the crazy stress and going from a very active job to being unemployed. now i'm losing again and it's cold again, and i'm freezing again...…

i want to use the heart rate monitor to track heart rate/calories burned through both strength training and cardo/aerobic training. because i have no way to check my heart rate at its peak during the exercise (esp during 45 mins of cardio), i really don't know whether to trust MFP or the machine or the multitude of…

i eat about half of them back, if i'm hungry. i've found that if i go several days without eating exercise calories then i don't lose as much weight as if i eat some of them back.

only compare your present self to your past self, not other people.

i love jigsaw puzzles, documentaries about the universe, and sci-fi books and movies... especially firefly/serenity. i don't know how many times i've watched that. i can't get enough of any fantasy RPG you put in front of me (but i never buy them for myself). every guy i've ever been in a relationship with has either been…

i was at a cook out and someone offered me a plate of cookies and said "these are amazing you should try one!... oh. right. you don't eat. never mind."

i count gym visits and workout videos... i only count cleaning the house if i've got crazy upbeat music playing and i'm dancing around and getting my heart rate up in the process.

if you ever watch castle (show on abc staring nathan fillion) he makes lots of references. halloween 2 seasons ago was by far the best :D http://youtu.be/3Q3pdj9p6yI

my spoiled brats: pixie has the stripe on her nose in the back, brownie is the one in front. we adopted them in september 2011 from a shelter. they are about two and a half years old, litter mates, and much much more sociable than they were when we got them a few months ago.

mostly chicken breast, though i do throw in white fish (like tilapia), lean cuts of pork, and extra lean ground beef on a regular basis. my husband loves turkey kielbasa, so we have that on occasion, but not very often because of the sodium (thought calorie content is roughly the same as lean ground beef).

those look really good... i have some light cream cheese i might try it instead :)

1700ish on days i don't go to the gym, 2000ish on the days that i do.

it's a wonderful sound, and when i told my husband about the reactions he says "does that mean i'm worthy of the great wife i have?"... seriously, i win in the husband game :D

i used to work in customer service, and came across this very very frequently. anytime anyone said anything to me that i found offensive, i would just stare at them like they grew a third head. when it was against "crazy church people" i'd let them know my husband's a pastor. or if they bashed on military, "my brother's in…

i haven't denied any friend requests sent to me. and i've only had to remove one for posting things i didn't agree with our found generally insulting (early on in my time at MFP)... the only thing that would make me deny a request would be some kind of insult in the message.

i like this method. it's how i'm working things too!

thank you to my wonderful husband for: - taking care of the cats' litter box even though i wanted the cats - telling me dinner is delicious every night, even if it's just a quick fix freezer meal - saying "i love you" every day, and then proving it with all the little things - always asking "can i get you anything?" every…
