  • MY BOOKS ARE HERE! Well. Almost here. They are sitting in the campus business office and I can't pick them up until Monday.... But I will have them in my greedy little hands within 48 hours :D Also, my body fat monitor should be here Monday, both of them just in time for me to start tracking things May 1. :)
  • i like the videos on www.fitnessblender.com just go to the workouts tab, and search for kettlebell. there are 4 videos. no cheesy music. just a voice over trainer, and a woman doing the exercises so you can see form. :)
  • I have been thinking about the possibility of changing my day from 3 meals/3 snacks to 4 meals, and 2 snacks... and just separate my dinner into 2 smaller meals (one before the gym, and one after) thus turning my "evening snack" into a post-workout meal, with the protein shake as soon as I get home.
  • I am a not-quite-typical Christian with a non religious background married to a pastor. We disagree on many of the religious/political points you aren't supposed to discuss anyway. (On the political spectrum I'm pretty much purple, and he's pretty solidly red.)
  • congrats to you! also, your son is adorable. :)
  • Name: Curtis Relationship: Husband for 1 year, together for 3+ Physical: His gorgeous big blue eyes and his sexy booty. Non-Physical: He's just amazing... goes to the store when I need something for meals, does the dishes and puts them away, cleans the litter box... I could go on and on, but I'll just say he's the perfect…
  • I started at 300, and am currently at 270 :)
  • all i can do is laugh at this. considering how much of a "good girl" i've been since i got the tats compared to before...
  • i pretty much love this response. i get my tattoo for me first. it's for me to enjoy, and if my clothes cover them or don't cover them, then that's that. i don't buy my clothes to fit my tattoos, and i don't get my tattoos to fit my wardrobe. occasionally covering them, for me, is necessary. but i don't go out of my way to…
  • in regards to healthy sustainable weight loss... it's more a marathon than 100 yard dash. slow and steady pace will get you to the finish line much more reliably than going all out for a little while and giving up (that's what i did, and as soon as i went back to eating like a normal person after starving myself... i…
  • I started cooking with olive oil again... the flavor is great, the smell is awesome, and it's healthy fats. So it's a good way to add in healthy fat calories without adding a lot of volume. I also eat a lot of eggs with cheese, nuts, and recently discovered how awesome avocado is when mashed up with a little olive oil and…
  • i'm also part of the FT4 crowd. :)
  • I am currently planning a half-sleeve tattoo. a representation of the footprints in the sand poem, and later if i want it to be a full sleeve i can do an ocean scene from the elbow down. i vote awesome :)
  • i vote for pistachios, cashews and almonds... my favs. :)
  • Hi and welcome!! It took me a year to realize that starving myself wasn't the answer, and then another month of research to jump over here. You are far more trusting than I am ;) ~Mandy
  • Hi Mike! :) *waves* I'm 5'9, 270 and female... my TDEE is around 3100 and my cut is around 2600 (I like the round numbers) so yeah, it seems like crazy amounts but bigger bodies need more fuel to move around (like gas in an SUV vs a prius) yay car references! Try not to focus on pounds so much... I'm focusing more on body…
  • this thread makes me hungry.... and i just had a big ol chicken boob smothered in cheese and tomato sauce seasoned by yours truly :P
  • you might gain some poundage in the beginning, but you will likely lose inches in the process. if you gain 5 pounds, but lose a few inches, your dress will still fit better ;) i always log my exercise to make sure my net is above my BMR *always* i use an HRM to keep track of calories burned, and i plug that in every time i…
  • i put cheese on my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches sometimes... does that count? :)
  • I don't like using the calculators online for body fat percentage, just because they seem off. I'm 270 pounds, and fairly certain my BF% is up near 50, and the thing told me I was at 32%?? I wasn't buying it. If you use the same one though, the trend should show your progress, even if the numbers are off. I purchased a…
  • This was me when I was trying to eat less than 1800 a day.
  • I'm closer to 300 pounds than 200 pounds (271 at last weigh in)... and if I don't have my protein shake in the morning (2 scoops protein powder, with 2 tbsp instant coffee, 2c skim milk, 1tbsp splenda, and 1tsp cinnamon) I have issues with getting the rest of my calories or enough protein during the day. It's hard for me…
  • 100% agreed. I don't know how I managed to survive on 1500 per day!
  • When I first upped my calories from 1500-1800 up to 2300-2600 I was stuffed all the time for several days. Then I was ravenous for several days. And it has since dropped off to normal hunger cues and satisfaction with meals and snacks. It's just your metabolism revving up because you're feeding it more. It'll go away soon.…
  • eggs white fish chicken breast lean ground beef skim milk protein powder string cheese lightly salted nuts (unsalted would be better, but sometimes i need my salty snack!) salad mix onions potatoes green peppers squash zucchini eggplant avocado olive oil greek yogurt bananas grapes strawberries oranges apples frozen…
  • love this :) very well said. as a recently married woman, i can honestly say the perfect wedding isn't the trimmings, it's one that has you legally married to the person you love at the end of the day. that's all it takes. not a perfect dress in the perfect size with the perfect flowers and an elaborately designed cake.…
  • No problem! :) I'm hoping that as I chronicle the progress it can be a tool for people in the future :)
  • Hello Pina!! Welcome to the group :) My only suggestion would be to make sure you are at least netting your BMR. Your TDEE - 15% is about 2100 calories... If you are eating 1700 and burning 1000, you are netting 700 and should be eating at least 800 more to make sure you are netting around your BMR. I hope that makes…
  • This is the one I have so far, but I've got several more in mind... a dream catcher on my other calf, and feathers down the inside. nod to my native american heritage. I want to get one on my lower back that is two sets of foot prints on the ends, with a single set across the middle and the line "He carried me" from the…
