Is it whey concentrate or whey isolate?? I started off using a whey concentrate protein shake and I had the same issues... bloated and felt like I could explode. Did some research and read where a lot of people have that reaction with concentrate but not isolate, so I started getting whey isolate and lo and behold, no more…

Not I. I can tolerate Fall, but I love Summer and I despise Winter. Personally, I wish I lived where it never got below 75º F.

48 here and rapidly approaching 49! :) Who are you? Michael Where are you from? Born and raised in the great state of Alabama :) What struggles do you have? Wellll, my situation is somewhat unique in that I'm working hard to stay in shape while coming up on 22 years in a wheelchair. What goals do you have? My main goal is…

Hi there Scatty!! I'm certainly a communicator, provided I have anything worthwhile to say! Well, actually.... quite often I communicate even when I don't have anything worthwhile to say. :) Feel free to add me if you're still looking for friends!

Like a lot of others, I have tried numerous different brands.... Optimum Nutrition, Dymatize Nutrition Iso-100, Six Star Elite Series, True Nutrition, About Time and my current which is BSN Syntha-6 Isolate. I like the ON brand, especially their all natural line. About Time is all natural as well, but they're just a bit…

48 here and rapidly closing in on 49.... and probably in the best shape of my life and that includes the pre-wheelchair years! As Mark Twain said, age is an issue of mind over matter.... if you don't mind, it doesn't matter! :glasses:

My wife lived on the other side of Tennessee from you (Jackson) before we got married and she moved here to Bama... and we were actually just up in Chattanooga last weekend for a little weekend getaway. :) I can somewhat relate to have "medical" related issues that can interfere or hinder our fitness goals, but about two…

I normally shower in the evenings, but if I worked out in the mornings, I'd have to shower, so that's above and beyond my usual routine. Plus, it takes me just a tad bit longer to get ready in the mornings than most people because I'm a paraplegic, so if I were to workout in the mornings, there's just no way I could get up…
-
No, my workouts are usually in the 45-60 minute range, but if I tried to work out in the morning, I would have to shower and do all the other usual stuff to get ready for work as well.... so I'd have to get up about 2 hours earlier.
-
I can't do mornings either.... I get up for work at 4:30 AM already, so I'd have to get up at 2:30 to get in a workout and that just ain't happening. I get home from work around 3:30'ish in the afternoons and I'm usually out in my shop working out by 4:00.... a 45-55 minute weight lifting session and then I still have the…

I would find it very difficult to get the daily protein intake I'm shooting for without using a whey protein powder. I've recently discovered an all natural one that uses stevia instead of sucralose called 'About Time', so that one's my current brand of choice.... but, being "all natural", it costs a bit more than other…

I'm right there in the mix with a lot of other folks... I'll turn 49 later this year. I've been in a wheelchair now (paraplegic) for almost 22 years. I never had any issues with my weight prior to my accident, but it didn't take too long after I got of rehab for the pounds to slowly start adding on. I exercised off and on…

That sounds about right! I more or less drink mine plain. If I'm having it pre- or post-workout, I add in creatine, but it's flavorless so I guess that doesn't really count.

I'm not sure, but maybe watching a Lindsay Lohan movie will help......

I don't know why but I can't stop watching this gif.....

And to that I answer with a "ROLL TIDE ROLL!!" Defending National College Football Champions and going for a three-peat this year!

Yep, saving this one for later.... the originals sound good as do some of the variations that others have posted!

Like a lot of others, I've cut out the white bread and pasta and now only eat sprouted grain bread and whole grain pastas... and even those are not very often. I've never been a huge pasta fan, so it wasn't hard at all for me to cut back. Still have white potatoes on occasion, though.... it's just hard to find a substitute…

Been using the Beta app for about a week now and so far, so good! I have an HTC Evo 3D and thus far have only had one issue... the app locked up on me when I was typing in a food item in the 'search' bar. It gave me the option to send a crash report and I did, but other than that one time, every thing has worked fine. I…
