I am 5'7" and the highest from the scale was 240.5 but I know there was a time it was higher but I didn't look because I didn't want to know. 311 days on MFP and I'm currently at 181 with a goal of 160.

I think you should go for it. If he isn't interested in you because of your size, he is a shallow person and probably not someone who is good for you. Too much emphasis is placed on appearance when it should be about what you are inside.

I ALWAYS use my food scale. Now that I use it all day every day I have realized that prior to using it I had no real idea what a portion size was. Now I know.
