All caught up! Beth, so sorry about all the Covid. Prayers that you all recover quickly and that your mom avoids it. Karen, best wishes for your meeting with your son. Still concentrating on protein goals. It’s going pretty good. Dave has decided we need new mattresses. Ours are over 10 years old. He says more like 15. I…

I am not caught up with January, but I am ready for Fresh Start February. Although I did lose a couple of lbs in January, I did not reach my goal. I did, however, take my vitamins every single day. That is a first! I did reach my goal of 10,000 steps daily, I did average 10,000 and walked 132 miles. I feel like I’m back on…

@LovePBandJ , i tried to figure it out by inviting you and I got to a screen that asked for your email, so I am no help at all. I don’t think we should need emails! I am friends with some folks on here but not many. Like Ginny said, we mainly just visit this thread to keep up. The ones I am friends with must have invited…

Welcome home, Bella! The story of Bella's return reminds me of an ongoing controversy in a Facebook local "talk" group that I belong to. Every time someone posts a picture of a found animal, there are two men who jump on the posters, calling them thieves and worse. Both of these men are of the opinion that an animal, left…

Allie, the course is called Take Your House Back. It may still be on sale. They were running a special. I’m not sure. It’s kind of pricey, but once you join you can renew every year for $10. I got in on the original launch of the course, so got a really good deal. If you think the price is too high, I suggest starting with…

Happy New Year! I loved the Brady Bunch meme. Thanks for sharing. I was late to the conversation in December, but I agree with everyone else, Betsy. I am usually very accepting of others’ faiths. It also takes a lot, and I mean a lot, for me to totally write off family members. In this case however, I would go no contact…

Flea, hugs and more hugs. You have indeed had a rough Christmas. My daughter gave me a new pair of pajamas for Christmas, and I don’t want to ever take them off. The pattern is not one I would have chosen for myself, but dang! They are comfy. Barbara, YNAB is a subscription based budgeting software. It stands for You Need…

Checkbooks… call me anal, old-fashioned, whatever you like. I don’t care. It is what it is and I am what I am. I only write checks to the church, a few charities, and a couple of service providers, i write them down in the actual checkbook register the bank gives you, but do not keep a running balance there. I have a…

Do you know if they sell something similar in the states? That might make a good stocking stuffer for my daughter. I could just google, but the quality of coloring pens varies so much from brand to brand.

Pip, I know the feeling. We avoided Covid for 2 1/2 then I got a cough and tested positive. Dave was negative, but it only took 4 days for his symptoms to appear. Prayers that yours and Kirby’s healthy lifestyles will keep the symptoms minimal. I almost have my house decorated for Christmas. I did everything but the tree…

Carol, you made biscuits from scratch for the first time ever today? Are you sure you were raised in Georgia? I am just kidding you. I said that like I make biscuits from scratch all the time. I do not! My mama and my grandma, on the other hand, had the biscuits in the oven before they got out of their nightgowns in the…

Tested negative today. Dave is still positive. I’m actually looking forward to PT and grocery shopping tomorrow.

Thanks for all who weighed in on my continued positive testing, i did a little research on it and as some of you said, it looks like 5 days from first positive then mask for another 5 days and you are good to go if your symptoms are gone. I am still not comfortable going in crowds like church, lay servant academy, etc. I…

I am still testing positive for Covid. How long does this last? I am going stir crazy. I have not really been sick other than the cough. No fever, no loss of taste or smell, I woke up yesterday morning feeling so good. I just knew I was going to have a negative test. Nope. Not yesterday. Not today. I am supposed to deliver…

Flea, I hope your case of Covid is as mild as mine and Dave’s. We are just staying in and taking it easy. Not pushing it. I still have the cough but it is sporadic. Watched church on FB.

Betsy, hugs. There are no words. Cry with us anytime. Mary, condolences on the death of your nephew. My sister lost her son at 30. All you can do is be there for your family. Well, after 2 1/2 years of avoidance, I finally have Covid. No earthly idea where I picked it up. We got our flu shots 3 weeks ago and our Covid…

Barbara, thanks for the birthday wishes. I was in a funk so kind of kept it on the down low. Beth, thanks for asking about my mom. She is doing well physically and has her good and bad days mentally. Overall, she is ok. Mary, thanks for the explanation. That is some crazy stuff! I’m so sorry it happened to you. I am doing…

I am feeling much better. I actually changed the sheets on the beds today and experienced no pain doing so. I’m doing my back exercises. They are really quite fun. Mainly stretches. Mary, are you saying the assault in the bathroom is what caused the $10,000 in medical bills? Goodness gracious! I need more details. That is…

Rosemarie, thanks for the prayers for my back. It is definitely better, although not well. Knowing it is just my regular degenerative disk and arthritis stuff is helpful news and relieves my worst case scenario fantasies. I don’t know why, but this happens to me every single month! I log on to catch up, see just a few…

I went to the orthopedic walk-in clinic today and had my back evaluated. It was as I suspected. My degenerative disk disease had flared up. The PA gave me a prescription for a round of steroids and some Flexeril to help me sleep. She also gave me some floor exercises to do and wrote a prescription for physical therapy. I…

Checking in. Big pity party whine in spoiler. Feel free to skip. I have been reading at least every other day or so, but have not had the energy to reply. Please know I think of you all often, rejoice in your happy photos and pray for your struggles.

Carol, good news from your sister. I love her name, by the way. Barbara, are you saying that taking the alendronate is what caused your teeth problems? Yikes! I may or may not have told y'all that my daughter and her husband bought a new house, in the same county (the county Carol lives in) but a better school district -…

Ketone Karen, could setting letter tray/paper organizer things on the existing shelves work for organizing your brother's supplies? Barbie, condolences on Bernie's passing over the rainbow bridge. Thanks for the suggestion, Heather. I am always looking for another good podcast. I am slowly but surely attempting to use up…

Barbara, you go girl! I love me some drawer organizers. Beth, prayers for you as you continue to help your mother. As for me and mine, I'm taking her to a lawyer on Monday to at least get a will in writing. She never felt the need before because everything was in Daddy's name. Even with a will, it's going to be a mess one…

Barb, you can learn a lot from just reading Dana's blog posts at aslobcomesclean.com. She has youtube videos, too. some people find them helpful. I love her, but she does tend to ramble. If I was new to her, I might like the youtube videos, but I find them too long. She has one where she goes through her five step…

Tracey, the course is on sale right now for $94. The all day declutter is this coming Saturday. I signed up when it first launched with a 50% code from Dana. It does have some good stuff, but can be overwhelming. I don’t participate in the FB group and the all day declutters have always been at an inconvenient time for me.…

Kim, I am interested in any and all information on estate planning, since we are in the throes of helping Mama with it. It is tough and brings lots of raw emotions to the forefront. I found a free on Kindle Unlimited book yesterday that was specific to my state that is being somewhat helpful.

Well, I'm bummed. I had to fire my house cleaner today. She has had trouble scheduling us in for our regular every two week Monday cleaning for a while. Today she said she'd be here at 2:00. Dave and I made plans to go do errands while she was here, but we couldn't leave until she got here. When she didn't show by 3:30, he…

Beth, hugs and prayers for all you are dealing with. Your poor mother! Barbie, I was thinking the same thing during the marker discussion yesterday. I do enjoy seeing the marker posts just as a reminder that my fitness pals are still here.

Beth, I am so sorry about the military failure. I don't know all the circumstances, but I feel like the funeral home was at fault there. I have heard of people not getting their ideal service time due the military folks being booked already, but never of them just not coming. There are people whose job in the military is…
