I'm 52 years old, 5'2", small frame, 116 lbs going for 115 and plan on staying in the 110-120lb range. I currently average 1300 calories a day, eating less during the week and more on the weekends. I am still losing, but VERY slowly, fractions of a pound each week, and sometimes not at all. I use a fitbit and average…

I love the OP's approach! You earned that meal! If it helps you stick to your weight loss/control plan than it's all good. I "calorie shift" too. I eat less during the week, more on weekends, but keep my average daily calories low enough to lose weight. It works and is something I can see myself doing for the rest of my…

I'm 5'2" and whenever I shifted to maintenance for a break (while still trying to lose), my weight went up 2-3lbs. That weight was gone the next week when I returned to the lower calorie intake. Going a few lbs below goal before transitioning to maintenance is a good idea. An alternative is to add calories very slowly. For…

Wow. My main point was the math. Sorry the rest of my posts repeated things. So shoot me.

Maybe I should have not used myself as an example. I was not suggesting lowering the upper end. I was just saying it is inaccurate for some people who are NOT AVERAGE NOT JUST ME. I think the math involved is wrong. Forgive me for suggesting that.....

BMI seems to be off mathematically. The relationship between height and weight depends on volume and density. Density is body composition, which is ignored. Volume is three dimensional. The BMI formula uses weight / height squared. Shouldn't a cubed measurement be used instead? I think this is part of the reason short and…

I have a FitBit One. I clip it to my pocket. If I look at it as I walk, it does track steps accurately. It can track steps with some cars, especially if they have stiff suspension. If you plug it into the charger while driving this won't happen. I set my MFP account to sedentary, and sync the FitBit to it. This way it adds…

Great work, congratulations!!

I wouldn't worry about it unless you are losing too fast. Short women can eat a lot less than most safely. I'm 5'2" with a small build. Although I average 1300 calories a day over the course of a week, there are some days I barely make 1000, and other days I hit 1800. I find varying my intake makes dieting easier.

I'm 5'2", very small frame, 52 years old. I reached 142lbs over the summer and got fed up with myself. I was 105 in early adulthood, gained over 35lbs in a year when I got my first job due to sitting on my butt all day. A few years later, I lost it and maintained 108-110 for 15 years by calorie counting, adjusting my…

Don't worry, you'll poop it out soon, if you haven't already ;) One day won't mess you up!

It's not just water weight, but food weight. It will take a few days before the contents of your digestive system goes back to what is normal for you. You can weight yourself now, but just know that most of your gain is temporary. Skip one weigh-in if you think it will bother you. I once took a week off and ate at…

I usually weigh myself every morning, expecting fluctuations, but only record it once a week, on Saturday. I also measure myself on Saturday mornings.

My arms, legs, face and neck are the last to gain and first to lose. Bigger forearms would be nice, but will never happen. As for my torso, I'm losing in my hips fastest, then waist. My chest is holding on, only went down a little bit. So, overall, my proportions are improving. I'll stop if my hips and waist stop shrinking…

5 would be great. Not gaining would be acceptable this time of year!

One day here. I haven't missed tracking my food in over 60 days, but with my bed time being after midnight, I sometimes miss a day by minutes. For example, I pre-logged some food last night, before midnight, worked late today, and didn't add the rest until after midnight. So technically I missed a day, but really, I…

I'm 52, 5'2", small frame. Highest weight 142, currently 126 with a goal of 115. I used to be 108-110 before menopause (at 43) and 105 max in my early 20s.

Incredible transformation! All that dedication and hard work pays off. You look fantastic, and being off meds is a major benefit to your healthy lifestyle. VERY inspiring!!

It varies greatly depending on frame size and body composition. I am 5'2" with a small frame. In college I never weighed more than 105, and was 108-110 for most of my adult life - until menopause. I got up to 142 and looked pudgy. I am now 126 and look OK, but I still have some more to lose. I'm aiming for 115. I don't…

A nice leather jacket. Something I would not want to "outgrow"!

I just joined. 52, need to lose another 13 lbs. I'm doing Weight Watchers at the same time, and have lost 14 lbs, but wanted to track calories too. Success to all!

I'm 5'2", 128 lbs (down from a high of 142 in June) and 52 years old. I want to get under 120, preferably 115. I'll re-evaluate then. I used to weight 108 before menopause at 43. I'm lifting weights with a fitness goal of being able to do chin-ups (ha!) so I'm not sure what my final weight will be.
