Not a jerk at all. It's kind of pissing me off that I decided to do this and the guy that I'll be there with loves beer too. But, I gotta do what I gotta do. I guess it's a "keep your eyes on the goal" kind of thing.

According to my doc, it counts as sugar. Not as bad for you as refined sugar and plenty of fruits have a low GI, but it is sugar.

I've read on body building (.) com that it works well. I haven't tried it because it has caffiene AND 1,3 D. Caffiene I avoid because of my heart and from what I've read about 1,3 D, I avoid that because of my .....little friend. I've also read that one can crash (physically) after, beacuase of the 1, 3 D. Don't know why you would want to but..... I would watch your protein intake (don't cut it, but make sure it's not excessive) Cardio that increases your heartbeat to the 40-55% of your max rate. Nuts are a good way to up your calories. Plenty of good fat and protein; walnuts have a nice dose of Omega 3's in them.
