  • Hello. We are the same age (38), both live in capital cities (London/ New York), and I like wine, photography and travel too! Let's be friends (request sent).
  • Congrats on your first R4L! Well done! I got my 5k time down from 27 mins to sub 25 in 2 months just by running a little bit faster each time. No complicated science, just running faster. To get my time down to 23 mins (my current PB), I had to work a bit harder: intervals, intervals, intervals, tempo work, hills and a…
  • I've logged in 450 days and counting! I also have my diary open to friends and I log every day, even though I'm now below goal weight. Add me if you like. I only have dedicated friends: I delete anyone who doesn't log in for a month!
  • Hello! I'm 38, mum to a 2.5 year old girl and I work full time. It took me a good year of hard work to lose the 35lbs to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and I'm now a stone (14lbs) lighter than that. I go to the gym every lunchtime on work days and run at weekends. It is possible to fit it all in, promise! Add me if…
  • Here's your motivation: your wedding photos will last a lifetime and be a permanent reminder of you and your husband on your happy day. In those photos, do you want to be 140 or 125lbs? That motivated me when I lost weight before my wedding. In fact, I went from about 145lbs down to 125lbs too, so it can be done. Good…
  • In a roasting bag. Shove anything you like in with it (veg/ spices/ herbs etc) tie the bag, bung in oven. gorgeous moist chicken. Serve with carb of choice. And no washing up if you can get the chicken out of the bag without spilling any :)
  • I love running. I'm a 5k PB chaser! I run parkrun most Saturday mornings, which is a free weekly timed run at 9am every week. It's an obsession! Add me - would love more runner friends.
  • I have the exact same problem: 5'3, 118lbs currently, hate my thighs so much which feel disproportionately big and chunky. I am a runner, so have muscle under all that fat somewhere! Add me if you like.
  • Everyone should have friends to share experiences with and acheivements. I log on every day (330 days and counting!), so feel free to add me.
  • Thing is, it was 11.25am in the UK, when the OP started this thread. A perfectly sensible time for posting questions.
  • <--- I'm 5ft 3 and 120lbs. I started off at 161 post pregnancy, my highest weight ever. I don't have any pics of this time though.
  • Great work Jo! And you have no reason to be negative, these are great results. Funny you should post this, as yesterday I worked about my 12 month comparison. In August 2011, I returned to work after my year’s maternity leave. I hated my body and the fact that I was still a stone and a half (20lbs) heavier than my…
  • Jennifer Pinches, Team GB, a gymnast. Go Team GB!! And also a Danish male wrestler. Not so happy about that one... lol.
  • Yep, I'm a mum to a toddler and work. When I'm at work, I go to the gym every lunchtime. It's my favourite part of the day. :)
  • Hi! Your story is so similar to mine. I am 37, 5'3", was 126 pre-pregancy, 184 pre birth (eeeeek!), 161 post birth and now I'm 123, so the lightest I have been for years, probably since my early 20s. I am proof it can be done, so if you want a motivating friend who has done what you want to do, then add me :)
  • Congratulations, it's a great feeling isn't it?!? I've been hovering around the 9st 1 mark for ages now and cannot wait to break the 9st barrier and for my weight to start with an eight. I started at 11st something post pregnancy, so I've broken 11st and 10st, just 9st to go! :) Great work fergie!
  • Hi, I'm not new (been on here almost a year), but like you I had a lot of baby weight to lose too. Post baby I was 161lbs, now I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight (128lbs) and feel like me again. My target is 120lbs. After that, we'll see! I'm a lot older than you :( and in the UK, but add me if you like - I'm proof you…

  • Unfortunately I miscarried a couple of days ago at 5 weeks. Still in a state of shock. We will keep trying so hopefully be back on here again soon... Happy healthy pregnancies everyone.
  • I found out 2 days ago, and I tested 4 days early (I just knew I was pregnant: sore boobs, craving for Marmite (it's a UK thing)), so I haven't even missed my period yet! So I am due 13th November (the same date my husband and I met 14 years ago). We were TTC, but it was only month 1, so we were a bit surprised it happened…
  • Name: Nicole, 37 Hubby/Partner: Simon, 41 How many kids do you have: A daughter, Eloise, 18 months Due Date: 13th November 2012 Do you know the gender: Only got my BFP yesterday. Don't know if we'll find out - we decided not to the 1st time. Have you picked out the baby's name: No Where do you live: London, UK Workouts you…
  • You say you've run 4 miles, that's 2/3rds of a 10k (6.2 miles). You can easily do it in 2 months. If you increase your distance by 10% each week, it will only take you 4 weeks to get to 6 miles: 4.4, 5, 5.5, 6 miles by week 4. You can definitely do this. And there will be loads of training programmes online to get you to a…
  • My scales tell me body fat. I stand on the pads and it send a little electric current round your body and measures the time it takes to get back. Obviously you can't feel this! I switched this function off though when I was pregnant, just in case! You can also get hand held devices (tanita?) which my gym also has.
  • Hello I am also 5'3 and weigh 133lbs. My body fat is currently 32% which I'm not greatly enamoured about. But post pregnancy, I was almost 40% (you store a lot of fat for pregnancy and breastfeeding) and 2 stone (28lbs) heavier than I am now, so it's progress. My target is 28% for now, though my PT says I should be aiming…
  • I went to the pub for lunch today with a colleague. It's my only lunchtime I don't go the gym each week. I enjoyed a glass of wine, chicken and stuffing sandwich and crisps (potato chips if you're in the US). Nice. And I don't feel guilty. I'm 184 over for today, but yesterday I was 515 under, so my week is still going…
  • Don't worry about it. Look at the week as a whole. I will be 184 over cals today (pub lunch and glass of wine, but it's my one lunchtime I don't go to the gym, and it was worth it), but yesterday I was 515 under. And the rest of the week I'm going to the gym and will burn off 400+ each day. You've got the rest of the week…
