  • My moment of "enough is enough" happened a couple weeks ago. I lost 95 pounds and then gained all of them back except 28. I knew all along I was gaining the weight back but I didn't do anything about it until recently. Some of my reward clothes I had purchased for losing weight wouldn't even button, zip, or go over my…
  • My favorite way to eat oatmeal is in a protein smoothie with peanut butter and bananas. I don't really care for "mushy" oatmeal, but a big plate of fruit and granola are right up my alley!
  • That last picture SLAYED me, lady! You have done such an amazing job, and I just love seeing how much happier you look in the after pictures. The kind of determination you have is priceless. AMAZING job.
  • Every Monday morning, when I first wake up!
  • Good point! The scale definitely doesn't lie.
  • August 9th, Lioness. :p
  • I definitely didn't say it was.
  • Can you share how? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious about that. It could be that I need to rethink my strategy, but I always thought measurements were a more realistic approach to tracking how healthy one is.
  • I'll check that out! Weighing in weekly has worked best for me, so far. I could change my mind at some point, but daily weigh-ins sound stressful to me!
  • That's funny, yet sadly true. I can't even weigh myself every day, let alone multiple times a day. That junk messes with my head!
  • It ain't that serious, people. lol Let everyone research this for themselves and leave it.
  • Wow, do they really? I've always wanted to try that but I've never felt comfortable because of my size... but I definitely didn't know they charged if you were over 190. How much per pound would they charge a person? I mean, I guess it makes sense. (I know this is OT, I'm sorry. lol)
  • I keep trying to set a goal weight date, but it's difficult to decide. I don't want to overwhelm myself. I would like to reach goal by sometime next year, but the thing is, I've never been below 200 and have no idea what would be appropriate. So how will I even know when to stop losing weight and just maintain, ya know? I…
  • I'm 5'7 1/2" and my dream goal is a buck fifty. My grandma believes 180 would look healthier on me. I've been morbidly obese since childhood so my issue is, I don't know what looks and feels healthy. The lowest I've been is 213 and it felt absolutely amazing. I think I'll worry about picking an actual maintenance weight…
  • I accept requests from both. I've been known to clean out my friends sometimes, though. If someone never updates, talks to me, or whatever, they go. I've been on MFP since 2010 (but took a long leave of absence). I want encouragement, not someone who is just creeping and never posting!
  • I LOVE breakfast foods! Smoothies are awesome lighter alternatives for breakfast. Like another poster said, if you don't enjoy the traditional eggs/bacon/cereals/etc. then try something else. You can totally have sandwiches and soups if you'd like. I've had baked fish and veggies for breakfast before. If you don't like…
  • I've been a pescetarian since December of 2009. I've had other forms of meat maybe three or four times since then. I've often thought about quitting, and might at some point, but for now it's become very comfortable for me and I'm quite used to it. I made the change because I was afraid of the heart problems associated…
  • I'm 21, with 100+ pounds to lose. Anyone can add me. :)
  • I have that much to lose as well. A long, rough journey but we can do it! :)
  • You look beautiful, and it's pretty cool that you have a sense of humor about everything. This doesn't have to be so serious and depressing all of the time! Total inspiration, chick, thanks for sharing. (Your son is adorable).
  • I actually do. I don't stare at myself the entire time, but I do a quick mirror check to make sure my form and posture are okay. I've always had bad posture, and I wanna keep that out of my work-outs! There are definitely times when I don't wanna see myself working out, though! (Squats don't make me look purty)
  • Awesome stuff. I refuse to use the word diet. When I finally decided to change my life I referred to it as a "lifestyle change" and I stick by that. I was definitely killing myself, so the term seemed more appropriate than "diet." A diet is usually temporary, but a lifestyle change can be permanent. Myfitnesspal is a cool…
  • I'm a part time cashier at a Dollar Tree in a very crappy mall. lol I'm trying to find a better job... I've actually thought about substitute teaching or something until I finish my Bach in two years. I want to be a social worker.
  • I'm 5' 7.5" and my goal has always been 150. My dream weight is 140-145, but I have no idea what would be best for my body. I've never been a normal weight so it's hard to tell what would look/feel right.
  • I just made mine open. :)
  • I went from 304+ to 213 using portion control, but I also changed the types of foods I ate. For example, I switched to nonfat milk. I started using whole grains and wheat. I made a cheese or mayo rule, since I love both (basically, if I have a sandwich I can only have one or the other, not both. lol) I also exercised a lot…
  • EDIT: Just realized this was about kitchen scales. lol
  • I have a bunch of NSVs that I'm anticipating, but I'm really looking forward to a pair of jeans my aunt gave me. I've been morbidly obese my entire life, so as an adult I've never worn a lower size than 24. Last year I got down to 213 and could nearly fit into my aunt's size 14 jeans. She gave them to me and I was super…
  • Linkage? :)
  • Thank you.
