We all need to look at the labels when shopping. It's scary what is in the foods we eat. I wish was able to grow my own produce. I am concerned about the recent articles published about "baby carrots" being bathed in chlorine prior to packaging. People eat these like candy and the scary part is they are giving them to…

NO! Not at all. Actually, I'd have done the same thing. Instead of helping you (supporting you) it seems they want to keep you from succeeding. I'd have tossed the "garbage" in the trash if it landed on my chair - actually I did that before. Just because people want to abuse their bodies doesn't mean you have to. Maybe…

Donna, I absolutely agree with you. Protein has to be a part of breakfast for me too.

Hi. It's hard to not crave sweets. Just don't buy the stuff. If you are still at work, take along some fresh vegetables and snack on those during the day with some hummus. An apple with 2 Tbsp of peanut butter. Popcorn - (air popped - no added salt). There are so many choices out there. Try to stick to 3 oz of protein and…

all I buy are sports bras. Just out of habit. I own five. Need to buy new ones though but they are SOOOOOOOOOO expensive and I'm in process of moving. Would rather put the extra cash toward healthy fruits and vegies :-)

I use the hand weights in addition to stretch bands. I also ride my exercise bike (when my knee allows). I still mow my huge front and back yards every two weeks with a push mower. Keep up the good work!

I don't even know she obtained the Phen!!!!!!!! It was outlawed. If she lost weight, that's great. Congrats. However, I hate see the overall impact on her cardiac status. Best to do it the old fashioned way - exercise and portion control. It takes longer, yes, but in the end, it will teach us to take control of food and…

How are you even getting phen? It was deemed "unsafe" and "outlawed" multiple years ago! Stop, please you don't know what you are doing to your cardiac status!

I'm 62 and was an avid runner until May of 2012. My left knee "just gave out on my" per my profile. The rest is history. I can appreciate your dilemma though.

You can do this! WE BELIEVE IN YOU. ONE DAY AT A TIME!

I agree with your advice. Eating good food - from ALL food groups. Taking a daily supplement may be helpful too. I love Myfitnesspal. It's realistic and I love the feedback!

I know what you mean. I eat very healthy. I weigh everything and do not deviate. What I do realize now is that any type of exercise is crucial and as much as I hate it, I force myself to drink water.

Well done! I am so very Proud of your effort. So much inspiration on this site!

Absolute perfection. I am SO VERY PROUD OF YOU! Well done!

Hi Stacey: I would love to offer you support. I have much to lose as well. I've been a member now since the 3rd of September. If you don't mind a friend from the States, I would love to be of support to you.

That will work for me too!

GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You're an inspiration for sure.

Be honest with your diary. Write down exactly what and how much you eat.
-
Hi Elliot: I get the same message too each time I submit my diary entry daily. Since my retirement I have put on almost an entire person regarding my weight. Like you, I KNOW I eat a good diet (okay, sometimes I go overboard - usually when watching football with friends and family!) but I also try to watch what I'm eating.…

Gosh. I wish I had that problem. I have trouble eating 1200. I'm always under. I eat a good diet too.

Maybe it's because they are "dieting"????????????????????

Invest in a food scale that measures in both grams and ounces. Same goes with measuring utensils (Tbsp, tsp, etc., and round them off with a knife. When I am cooking my grains for the week, I measure out by kg and place in baggy for future use. That way, I don't have to bother with measuring stuff all the time - it's gets…

Yes, you absolutely need to count them. No need to add salt to your pasta. It comes with it's own sodium count (look at the ingredients). Throw away the salt shaker and stick to herbs.

Depends on what kind of carbs you're eating. I'm sure you're eating all the right things - fruits and vegies?????? Better to cut down on sugary stuff. Carbs give you energy. NO. NO NO. Do not cut out carbs - that's a myth. If you're not gaining, you've probably just hit a plateau. Exercise more - tone up. Build muscle. You…

Tomato sauce:smooched:

Yep. I do that with fresh green beans (wash and dice them in in little baggies). I do the same with squash and zucchini.

Hi: I only get to the store once every 10 days. I buy frozen fruit and vegetables all the time. Lettuce I buy in bulk when I can't grow it. Same with cukes and tomatoes. I always buy a bag or two of apples and have one a day. I just can't eat produce fast enough if I buy more than that. I also try to keep on hand Bob's Red…
