Ditto, amen, I share your sentiments EXACTLY! Well, maybe not quite 'exactly'. The only difference is I have a family I have to cook for and a husband who is supportive verbally but nothing more. He says he'll encourage me to eat healthy but still expects his unhealthy favorites. If it's in the house I'm done for. I'm…

Count me in! 20 by Christmas sounds very doable =)

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I made it out for a jog last night. I wouldn't quite say I'm back on track now but I at least have a plan to get back on track, which is a start. I had been struggling in my second week of doing week 3, so after a week of doing nothing I thought I should start back up with a week 2…

That's the beauty of spaghetti squash! You can have seconds. Spag. squash = ~42 cals / 1 cup Spag - whole wheat = ~174 cals / 1 cup Spaghetti = ~200 cals / 1 cup

spaghetti squash is a great alternative. I cut it in half length-wise, place it face down into a glass casserole dish with about 1/2 of water and microwave it for about 5 minutes. You can use a fork to scrap the squash from it's shell. Microwave it longer if you want it softer. I also sometimes use zucchini instead of…

Don't give up Delph. I thought week 2 was easier than week 1. I did week 1 two weeks before moving on. I'm stuck in a rut. I've fallen back into old habbits of making everything but exercise a priority. I need to get back to it fast. My 5k is coming up at the end of September and I'm behind. I still haven't completed week…

Ooh, I was wondering about the sprinklers too. The route I take goes through the neighborhood and a park. The park has those kind of sprinklers. I've never run through when they're on so I had no idea what you were experiencing...until this morning. I can completely sympathize now - they are awful! I ended up…

Sorry to hear the ear buds aren't working out. I think your effort to push through the uphill finish will payoff. You're doing great! I use the podcasts from runningintoshape.com. They keep in the 3 minutes for a full 8 min walk at the end. There's a lot of pop/hip hop (eh, not my favorite but...) and a bit of 80s. I have…

I like cycling on the days I'm not doing C25K. Careful starting off with too much weight if you haven't been doing strength training. Your muscles will become sore faster and you'll be less inclined to continue. Water bottles make great substitutes if you don't have weights. A 20 oz. bottle is about 1.3 lbs, 24 oz…

Pixie you make me want to try harder when I do W3D2 tonight. I wasn't able to finish the full 3 minutes on Saturday. Tonight I'm determined to complete a 3 minute interval. Keep up the great work!

Picked up pair of Asics last night. They are awesome! I really liked my New Balance but I don't think I will were anything but Asics when I go jogging. W3 will definitely be a repeat week for me. I'm able to manage the 90 sec jogs no swe... no problem, lots of sweat but no problem  The 3 minute jog had me very…

Only made it about half way through. 9:00 and it's still 103 degrees out...between the heat and my lousy shoes I just couldn't make the 3 min jog. Walked the rest of the way. At least I did that much. I'm not going to count it as a complete W3D1. I'll get new shoes tomorrow and rock it Saturday morning! I CAN DO IT!!! Good…

You're doing a great job Pixie! Sorry I've seemed to abandon you...too much drama going on with the family :ohwell: It's totally thrown me off my routine and I'm struggling to stay motivated. I haven't gone out since Saturday. :frown: I've been going on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I missed Tuesday cuz I was up late…

@Bru - You are fabulous! Thank you for sharing! @Pixie - I'm glad those are working a little better for you. I'll let you know if I come across anything better. I struggled getting out of bed this morning so I didn't get my run in. That means I MUST do it tonight. I really hope we get some rain so it cools down a bit…

That is great Pixie! You can do it! I finished W2D2 this morning. I think W2 is actually easier than W1. That extra 30 seconds on the recovery seems to make a world of difference. That was what held me back on week 1. The podcast would cue me for the next run when I wasn't yet recovered from the previous one. I hope you…

Keep at it Pixie you're doing great! I just finished W1D3 round 2 last night. I didn't feel ready to move on to W2 last week, so I repeated week 1. I guess you could say last night was actually W1D6 =) It's getting easier. I think I'm going to go ahead and try W2 starting tomorrow. Good luck to you! You can do it!

@jrh5249 - That's awesome! Good for you! I wouldn't go back either =D @PixieGoddess - I sprained both ankles awhile back, 1 in September the other in February. I didn't even think about it before starting this so after doing W1D1 they were killing me. I've been using the darned braces ever since. It has really helped. BTW…

Congrats! I started last week. Day 1 was really tough. Like you mentioned, I thought my chest would explode. I'm not quite ready to move on to week 2 so I'm doing week 1 again this week. I'm planning on doing a 5k at the end of September. I've even recruited a couple of frinds to do it with me so I'll be less inclined to…

I've decided to do week 1 again. I can't do all 8 intervals comfortably yet. I think I can get it down by day 2, surely by day 3. Congrats to everyone who made it off the couch this week!

Actually most of them download as mp3. I just converted them. My son has a Disney mix stick, which uses mp3 format, and I was able to put it on that so he could do it with me. They are great! They prompt you at each change of pace...no stop watches.

I just started the program last Saturday. I'll be doing W1D3 tonight. So far it's been tough but I love it. I'll probably do week 1 again before moving to week 2. I'm not quite ready to run more than 60 second intervals yet, but I'm much closer than I was last week =D. There are a lot of podcasts available online that…

That is fantastic! I'm so happy for you!
