I think about this a lot, actually. I went from wearing size 40 pants to almost fitting in 36, but I hope to be in a 34 by time its over with - and down from 233 to 185-195. I've had good success so far weighing in at 214 about 2 weeks ago (I *should* be less by now, but don't know because I don't have a scale) - but…

What is the Slap Chop guy like? Great job man!

LOL!

If you have more work to do, then please explain - I don't see anywhere that needs any work! Do you have before shots somewhere?

Actually, that's not true! K-State professor lost 27 pounds on the "Twinkie diet" and his bloodwork was impacted in a positive way! Hard to believe, but this story and MFP are my 2 inspirations (even though I'm not snacking all that much). http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html OP: Thank you…

I agree with you girl. People like me, who have always eaten as much as we possibly can without busting, just can't imagine people who psychologically CANNOT put food in their mouths. That is, of course, until you have someone in your own family who is going to lose their life any day now to an eating disorder. You realize…

This! Think of it like this - if you spend $8 on a fast food lunch, you could have bought 2 lunches for food you ate at home. I went from eating $7-10 fast food lunches daily to eating about $3-4 worth of food I brought in to work - Healthy Choice soups, Starkist tuna lunch kits, single-serving bags of chips (Sun Harvest…

Please, seriously - get help. I have a cousin who was obsessed and she is probably a couple inches taller but about the same weight. She has gotten so bad that she literally gets sick from drinking coffee or eating. I am fully prepared, and my parents have told me to be prepared, for her impending death. She has been…

I've always wanted a tattoo on my chest or side, but always knew I'd never have the confidence to show anyone - so I'd like to get something in one of those 2 spots if I can drop another 20.

I'm in Kirkwood - been in the St Louis area for about 4 years and have lived in Fairview Heights (metro east), the city for 2 years (Dogtown), and now Kirkwood for about a year and a half. Once we all reach our goal weights we can have a meetup to eat some salad without dressing or something! lol Oh, and in the mean time,…

Oh, and to everyone else's point - I do actually like veggies, but if you don't, look for the steamfresh packages from Green Giant. You can get mixed vegetables with cheese sauce and broccoli with cheese sauce - has a cheesy, good flavor, for very few calories!

Turkey, turkey, turkey! We buy turkey bacon, turkey burgers, turkey hot dogs, turkey smoked sausage (like polish sausage), turkey brats, groudn turkey (for spaghetti), etc. The turkey brats we buy are 170 calories - the regular brats we WERE buying had 290. I would eat 2 of them. I now put a single brat on an 80 calorie…

As well you should be :)

I'm only a calorie counter, but....I pack Healthy Choice soups (Chicken Tortilla - 280 cal, Chicken Noodle - 180), Starkist Tuna Kits (comes with a package of tuna, 6 round crackers, and a mint - 200 calories), bags of chips (individual bags for portion control - 140 calorie Harvest Sun multigrain bags), Lean Pockets (Hot…

Wow! 10 lbs really changed a lot on you!

Welcome to MFP! MFP has truly changed my life. I'm not working out any more but am very strict on my calories. I punched in 2lbs/wk in MFP and have stuck with it for about 6 weeks. My last weigh in over a week ago I was down 19lbs! I feel amazing, just as you do! Welcome and keep it up!

Thank you for saying this! I have a friend who constantly points out the research that artificial sweeteners can make you fatter because your body thinks its getting sugar, so when it realizes it didn't, it makes you crave real sugar. Baloney! I drink Diet Dr Pepper to the extreme (way too much) and have lost 19 lbs by…

Good call! We have several Goodwills nearby, perhaps I should just try to find a pair of 36s and wear them until I can hit a 34!

Oh yeah! And trying on my dad's 36-waist pants, and while snug and having to tug a bit to put them on, they snapped! I haven't been able to wear anything under a 38 in years, and many brands a 38 wouldn't cut it. Not to mention I had also given up any hope of ever being a decent size and always bought pants I thought I had…

Good question! I actually thought it was awesome when I wound up only eating about 1200 calories (when my daily allowance was 1630, now 1510). Then I started spending more time on the forums and got worried about the starvation mode that people keep talking about. The other night I didnt feel hungry but was under by about…

I know this answer doesn't help much, but one of my favorite places to eat before my lifestyle change was a Mongolian BBQ and buffet (with sushi bar). Now when I go I get the mongolian BBQ - veggies and sauce ONLY, no meat (because I know veggies are very low cal). Then, I get 8-10 pieces of sushi...or 12 :). Sushi isn't…

My mom lost aroudn 40lbs on WW, but since I am only calorie counting, I love being able to look at the calories on an item and decide yay or nay. I simply look and say "I've used 700 calories today...I have 800 remaining...and I still need to eat dinner. Do I really want to use 200 calories on ____________ right now, at…

My wife and I eat at Chipotle all the time on our diets. I am ONLY counting calories, so that may be the difference to some of you. Only counting calories thus far has lost me 19 lbs. This is about 560 calories, confirmed by chipotle.com; Chicken burrito BOWL, black beans, rice, fajita vegetables, corn salsa - NO cheese,…

I know nothing about fish, but I do know that shrimp that comes without the shell, with the tail still on, and frozen, is delicious grilled. We put them on a kebob skewer, take the tail off, put some 0 cal spray butter and chicken seasoning (its just what we have, so we use it :)), and grill it with some grilled chicken,…

I have lost the weight I've lost in the past 5 weeks or so simply by watching my calories. I put in myfitnesspal that I do little to no exercise and want to lose 2 lbs per week. So far I've lost 15-20 - not bad for 5 weeks. I have been snacking all along. The key, for me, was finding snacks that don't go overboard...in…
