What I personally wonder about this "starvation mode" is how anorexics get down to 70 pounds and you can count every bone in their body. I'm not 100% that I believe starvation mode exists - but I don't necessarily believe that it doesn't, either.

YES, absolutely. In fact, many people on MFP will tell you that even nutritionists and dieticians say you should have a "calorie spike" one day per week. I had one free day per week for 16 weeks and lost 55 lbs. Treat yourself - you're doing an excellent job. Oh, and I'm sending you a friend invite :)

What's wrong with eating pizza? I eat half a pizza from Domino's for a meal every week. If it fits in our calories, why does it matter? A large slice of cheese pizza from Domino's is like 220 calories.

My wife is 4'11. She was at 140 and over about 6 months she lost 25 lbs down to 115. She definitely cheats a lot more than me though lol.

Eat it in moderation. I changed many things, like eating turkey instead of cow and pig - but I never deprived myself of junk food. You really do have to have will power. I understand it's hard to look at a bag of donuts and not eat it, but if you are serious about weight loss, you won't eat it.

People talk about portion control because they were eating terrible foods. In other words, I can still eat french fries, as long as I get a small that is 250 calories instead of a large that is 600. I'm down about 30 pounds currently (in only 2 months), havent worked out at all. You can tell MFP that you are not going to workout and you live a sedentary lifestyle and it will give you a calorie recommendation.
