3dogsrunning, yes I mainly see the biggest pace difference when on the treadmill. Glevinso, I would think making sure I give a good push off would be to make sure it is not under recording my laps, it is over recording my laps by 75-150 meters. Weird! Right? I guess I could pause it but man was a pita. I'm finding my…

We use wodify at our box. Love it!

I have been following his workouts for years now. Never was able to get big into the diet. I should maybe try again though now that I think about it. I just modify for my vegetarian lifestyle. Starting crossfit soon though so not sure how many days I will have available to do Body for Life. Based on my bad knees though not…

Looked into some duathlons today around my area. I found a couple coming up next year. I'm going to try that out! ☺

Sorry I didn't realize there was so many more replies over here. Wow, a whole bunch more great info! Love it! Thanks for all the great tips!

I have to admit, it didn't feel that weird going from the bike to a run last week. It wasn't as big of a deal as I was expecting. Not "brick" feeling thankfully. Of course it was only 3.1 mi but all the same. And I agree glevinso, I like the idea of adding a run after my rides, I think that is something I want to do…

That's not a bad idea Mrscanmore, I might look into that. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice about trying out an tri prior. I might look into doing one in the spring. I hate waiting till next Sept (that is when the one in Austin is). Who knows depending on how one in the spring goes, maybe I can push it try for the Olympic in the fall. ;-) Seriously thanks so much guys for all the great…

Oh by the way I did a brick workout day before yesterday (I guess that is what they are called??) to see how it went and how prepared I was for the Tri. I biked 20 miles, then came home and jumped off the bike, changed my shoes and shirt and grabbed the kids (they are homeschooled so it was their PE class), and walk/jogged…

Wow, and the great advice keeps coming! Thanks so much guys! The wetsuit idea was for use here at my neighbors pool so I could work on my swimming during the winter. But now that I think of it, I think a wetsuit might help me overcome some of my anxiety of swimming in open water (keeping more of my skin covered). I really…

Thanks for the info everyone! And jacksonpt, thanks, I found that tri/duo group last night right after posting this. Glad to see there is a group on here for that! Definitely going to work on the swimming. My neighbor has a pool I can use but it is now Nov. I wonder if I should go ahead and invest in a wet suit. lol. The…

I'm going to go ahead and copy my original post here.... I would love to chat with some people who have done any Triathlons. I am currently only interested in a sprint. Honestly that alone has me quivering in my boots, mainly because of the swimming. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE road biking. I have a Fuji Road bike that I ride about…

Great, thanks for the info... Well I got the biking covered as I bike 3x a week for an average of around 70 miles a week. Interval training I need to look into some more. I have never heard of aqua running. I will look into that. So from your statement that leads me to believe some people hire a trainer to train for these?…

I'm in! I'm going to commit to 150 miles. Not sure how many of these will be road miles as this is a really crazy month (AGAIN) for me. I will at least get my butt on the spin bike.

I have used mapmyride app now for about 5 months and I love it. I love how I can get online and see how I bike better or worse than the week before, along with other things. I downloaded a $4 app for endo, how different is that from the actual gadget? Cause I wasn't all that impressed with the app.

Wow! Just wow!

Sounds pretty insain. Lol. I'll have to try to find some around my area to go check out some weekend.

Really appreciate the tips! Yes I would love to have someone to ride with but I only know one other biker aside from my husband (who watches the kids when I ride), and this guy live 45 min away. He's a LOT more advanced than me. I really wish there was someone local a little more advanced than me that I could ride with but…

I have to workout in the morning otherwise I lose ALL motivation to. So I workout before the kids wakeup. Hubby works from home so when I bike they stay with him. If they wake up while I'm gone they work on chores while I'm gone so we can eat breakfast when I cone back. Then I shower while they finish any morning chores.

Oh. My. Word. You rock!! Where are you from (what state/country you biking in)? I would love to someday see myself hit a 100 mile ride in a day!

Hey everyone!! I am so glad I found this thread! I hope you don't mind me joining a little late. I LOVE biking!! I consider myself a slightly advanced beginner. Let me share a quick bit about where I began so you can see it is possible for anyone who wants to go far with biking! I am still at the beginning of this journey,…

I know exactly how you feel. I feel it every morning when I tell the kids I am going or for a bike ride or out to the garage to workout for and hr or hr and a half. It's even worse when they say, "Mommy please don't go!" Ahhh, it makes me feel so guity. But I know I need this. I know I need it for my sanity, my health and…

Thanks everyone! Yes I am sure I would like it after I got use to it. Thanks Speedtrap, I'll check that link out!

Yep. This is me. It may not work for everyone, but it works very good for me! It gives me something to look forward to. There is a lot of foods that I call no no foods during the week, but on my free day nothing is off limits. It's only one day a week, and yeah it takes me a day or two to recover from it, but by the end of…
