  • Further west and just above sea level.... The vine maples are bringing lots of color to the gazillion shades of green in the rainforest.
  • No one wants to admit to living in the Palouse 😁😁😁😁😎😎
  • LOL, gotta help 😁 Moose harvest in Alaska is often a very social event once an animal is harvested. Family and/or friends often assist in post-harvest processing as it can be a daunting task for someone on their own. Traditionally, those that help are always offered some finished product as a thank you. As a fishing guide,…
  • Wish I had lots to share, but someone did with me. Did not harvest one this year, but friends did. Sent me south for winter (summer in Alaska) with a little stash of both summer and polish varieties. One of the local elk herds routinely visit my yard, will see if maybe get lucky with a legal bull there. I did not put in…
  • For those who hit the disagree button for me, don't read my diary. Lots of moose sausage in there lately 😱😱 😁
  • Deer season opened Saturday.... Not actively chasing, but keeping a close eye on clear-cut that adjoins my land. Had a nice buck trigger my Arlo system a bunch late this summer raiding my apple trees. Might be tasty πŸ˜‰ and good for keeping my protein up!! Duck / goose season soon.... Usually do a wee bit more of that!
  • I'm always game for new folks as well! Can be chatty if you like, or just a read of your status and a thumbs up if that's more your style 😎
  • Dang that looks good.... With only one grocery store up here though, guessing I'm going to have to drive down your way to get some though πŸ€”πŸ˜
  • Depends upon time of year 😁 I summer in Kenai, Alaska.. Winter months are spent in a little town on the north Washington coast called Forks.... And for all you twenty-something gals, I have never seen a werewolf nor a vampire here πŸ§›β€β™‚οΈ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  • Hi Susan... Another WA member here (although I summer in Alaska). Been around here for a few years.... I enjoy watching / helping with other's journeys. I sent a FR, and happy to accept other active folks as well!!
  • You can add me as well!! About five years in on this whole change, ran my first Half marathon last weekend. Maybe a full some time :)
  • Nov 17 will mark my 30th year of retirement from drinking. I didn't partake for long .... I quit not long after it was even legal for me (but we all know how that works  ) but it was an awfully bad spell. I lost of the few gals I have ever truly loved because of it, and almost drank myself to death in the wake of…
  • For a fella that probably could not have run a mile most of his life!!! Dropped nearly 90 pounds a few years ago and started running a little .... Ben yo-yo with the final 30 since. Wish I had decided to do this earlier than just a few weeks ahead of time. I've been running some, but not nearly what I should have. Figured…
  • As a river fishing guide, I row a boat for a living ..... mine counts my oarstrokes, since many of these are in pretty heavy water with plenty of effort, I don't mind it, I know it's every bit the effort of a step in the living room .... but always get grief from friends in challenges that "I'm cheating" :)
  • Hi all, I'm Bob and am also excited to find this group. Was always heavy most of my life and never a runner .... avoided most everything I could that required it. I began running in early 2015 as an add-on to exercise that I began on a get-myself-out of a hole weight loss mission. Had a a pretty good ride for a bit ....…
  • New around these parts .... Grew up in Lake Oswego, OR. For the last 25 years, I split my year between the Kenai, Alaska area (May/June through latter September) and Forks, Washington the remainder of the year. So, if I see a temp over 90, I probably really will melt :)
  • Extreme short term, but a huge goal that I recently decided to tackle .... to survive a half marathon try on Sunday morning. By the end of next week, be back in Onederland .... mostly right there, but went off deficit this week and carb loading so sure gained some weight this week, but no big worries. And a little longer…

  • At my max loss, just shy of 90 pounds. Up almost 20 right now, but looking to get at least half thst off. Not positive where I really want my goal.
  • Happy birthday!!!! Enjoy it!! But I am learning more that there is some truth in only being as old you feel. And a lot of times that's a lot younger than my 51... But occasionally, father time reminds me that he's got a horse in this race too :) I think I am back around these parts for a bit after a little hiatus. Most…
  • I started with C25k back in early 2015. It did the trick and slowly saw my times improve and weight fly off if stuck with the program. I moved up to a couple of 10 and 12k races over the years.... And my normal every few day run was a 5k plus. I sadly got away from running regularly last winter, a combination of my bad…
  • Back after a layoff from the app, never had much of a support group here, and now see majority that I did are inactive. Had a super summer on my own.... Losing much of what I had put back on following the passing of father almost two years ago and some pretty dark times at home..... But I know how tough it is in the home…
  • You're all east siders for those of us who live in Forks :)
