Smoked ham omelette with avocado and tomato side. 60g of ham, 2 eggs, half an avocado, and a large tomato - about 350cals! Edit - apparently it won't let me post my photo :ohwell:

I found it difficult to understand how you could have looked, but still called them 'quacks', hence I assumed you didn't. If she were a quack, she'd definitely be out making more money by using her credentials to sell 'magic supplements', rather than being a research academic  That said, I do understand what you…
-
'Just as proof'? Proof of what? How current do you want her to be? She's published 10 peer-reviewed scientific articles in the last year alone. Maybe you have misunderstood, the diet devised for that individual was never designed to be permanent - the guy was grossly overweight with 42% body fat. I think we have all…

You didn't even look, did you?

I for one am definitely not going to argue with their credentials... http://www.ncl.ac.uk/ihs/people/profile/ashley.adamson http://www.ncl.ac.uk/biomedicine/research/brc/profile/Roy.Taylor Not sure how much more professional you could want  Though I should say, I wouldn't suggest using Si King's example as a…

Are you logging it and including it in your calories? If so, and it's firing into your calorie allowance, then no, no weight gain.
-
No no no no no no no no. And no again. Gradual weight loss and exercise are the recommendations for tackling a fatty liver. No magic pills or diets. Just a change in lifestyle.
-
I'm a scientist, does that count?
-
Why don't you both sit down and work out how to share the chores out, in a way where you both get nights off to do what you want - so on days where it's his turn to cook/clean the dishes, you'll gave some time to use the TV uninterrupted :drinker:
-
I know what you mean! I stick to 40g, but instead of adding milk, I add some nice thick plain yoghurt, then top with blueberries. Once you've got that extra protein from the yoghurt, it's much more filling! And not many more calories than milk!
-
I have recently taken to making a green protein smoothie after my workouts  It usually consists of protein powder, plain yogurt, half an avocado, a block of frozen spinach, then topped up with whatever fruit is to hand (usually banana!), plus a touch of vanilla extract and honey to sweeten. Helps get some veg in!
-
Surely this is not shocking?
-
Try perpetual spinach! It laughs in the face of snow.
-
Quoted for the pure AWESOMENESS. This is truly inspirational, self sufficiency has always been a dream of mine :drinker:
-
Yes please. It's really not difficult.
-
Yes, but only if both partners are comfortable with them!
-
You can still have your roasts - but they don't have to be 1000 calories! It's all about portion control, and that's where MFP really comes into it's own  If you weigh everything that you cook for your roast, and log it in MFP, you will be able to see exactly where the calories are coming from. Then you can start to…

Thanks for explaining - I see what you are trying to say now  I also agree with looking at what people do, not what they say. But I have been in a situation where I had the choice of dating a couple of different guys - one was ripped and super hot (and really nice), the other was not ripped in the slightest…
-
Why outlaw? Surely better to label, so people have the choice.
-
Um.... No.
-
EXACTLY. But some people on here seem to be struggling with the idea that they won't be attracting ALL the women
-
No - in science, a hypothesis is very different from a theory!
-
Oh yes, god forbid you ask women for an opinion! The horror! But it's OK, if the opinions aren't what you were hoping for, you can just ignore them right? Newsflash - women are not all the same. I'm sorry if that's a concept you're struggling with :flowerforyou:

Another vote here for plain porridge oats - the 'instant' stuff tastes horribly sweet to me now! Aldi does a kilo of porridge oats for 75p. As other have suggested, prepare the night before and keep in the fridge, then just microwave at work. My favourite is banana, cinnamon and raisin.

I would assume 1cup = 1 bag. In the UK when we say 'a cup of tea' it's a term for a serving, not a volume measurement. And who is 'they'? Can 'they' clarify if a cup is just a one bag serving, regardless of water volume?
-
I personally don't care about 'roid rage' or any of the side effects (or lack of?). As far as I'm concerned, if a guy is taking steroids for the purpose of growing muscular, I wouldn't find him attractive. Regardless of how nice he is - I just wouldn't want to date a guy with that kind of mindset. Which is what the thread…

It's the same thing as men wanting a woman DD boobs or bigger. Sure, it would be nice (for some, if that's your preference), and I guess there's no harm in asking for it, but hardly a deal breaker surely? Men like different sizes - so do women. If you go online dating and she turns you down because you're 5ft 8…
-
Deemed way too short by who? I know a guy who is 5ft 4 and he is HOT  he's not muscly either - to be honest, excess muscle would just make him look out of proportion. There is no blanket answer - It's just what looks good on each individual body.
-
Sorry, I prefer brains over brawn. And taking steroids, to me, is pretty brainless.

I love growing my own food! UK people, Aldi sells soft fruit bushes for £1.99 at this time of year - you can pick up raspberry canes, blackcurrants, gooseberry, blueberry - I don't really have a garden so I plant them in buckets! I get loads of lovely fruit from them
