And how old were you when you could finally spell it  Gotta love Cymraeg.

I find it so sad that she even had that worry in the first place :frown: Where do these kind of thoughts come from? So long as the fiance isn't making an issue with it... I'd certainly be warning my daughter off any man who considered it a problem
-
I managed 5x5 at 110lb, two sessions in a row, so thought it was about time to move up  Added the extra 5lb - no problem I thought, 5lb is barely anything. But my goodness, I am struggling! Two sessions now I've failed to complete my sets  Over 5 measly pounds. Grrrr, I will get you 115!

What is 'cleansing' in this context? What properties does the vinegar have that makes it a 'cleanser'?

Aldi do whole free range chickens for £4.99 - so you get two breasts, plus all the other delicious bits!

Well, for every single woman there's a single man :drinker:

A pub quiz date would be awesome! Though at a proper real ale pub, not a working men's club....
-
Exactly - and that's what dates are for! To get to know the other person better, find out what they're like - if they like having doors opened for them/meals paid for/car doors opened, then continue by all means! But if the lady says she's uncomfortable with it, then you know not to worry about it anymore  so long…

2kg of sodium in two burritos?

Egg yolk is my favourite part! And really, an egg yolk is, what, 50-60 calories? I can definitely incorporate that into my allowance

It's the same species of corn (Zea mays), just a different variant :drinker:

GMOs aren't labeled in the US?! Whaaaat? I'm assuming you're in the US? Ok, I can see why people get annoyed now, if you aren't given the choice. All foods containing GMOs are labeled in the EU, so I didn't realise they weren't labeled over there.

The study itself is: Radosavljevic V, Jankovic S, Marinkovic J, Dokic M. Non-occupational risk factors for bladder cancer: a case-control study. Tumori. 2004;90:175–180. You can find the abstract here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15237578 I can't access the paper itself, but I found the citation via this paper:…

But then there is also a study that linked it to a 4.4 fold increase in the risk of bladder cancer - so you know, swings and roundabouts.
-
The key part of this quote is 'supposed to'. In Europe, manufacturers can't make any health claims about apple cider vinegar because there is no solid evidence to back it up.
-
How many GMO induced illnesses do you deal with in the average week? Out of interest.

+1

You suggested that pesticides registered with the EPA are all formulated in the lab - I was offering an example of a pesticide that occurs naturally. That was the point I was trying to make.
-
Oops... I've obviously got to used to seeing too much crazy talk
-
Clearly, from your response, it has EVERYTHING to do with education.
-
I would be VERY surprised if pyrethrin wasn't registered.
-
Ditto. I even work in genetics *shock horror* :noway: It makes me laugh when people use the "BUT MONSANTO" argument. They don't control all GM research you know...

If you lift with proper form, and don't try and start with too much weight, you'll be fine! Maybe spend today planning a routine (I read the stronglifts site and took the 5x5 program for inspiration) then maybe check out some YouTube videos to see what correct form for each lift is. Also, as it's your 1st time, will you…

I'm in the UK and I buy Impact Whey Protein (unflavoured) - it's pretty good value for money  I make up a protein shake after I've been to the gym, otherwise I struggle to get enough protein in my diet. Recently, I have been blending it with half an avocado, a banana, and some vanilla essence. Tastes delicious!…

If I tip, 10% is the norm - I'm glad I read this thread, now I know what to do if I go to the states... Hopefully I can avoid mortally offending someone!

In the UK the minimum wage is equivalent to 10.41 US dollars per hour. But them I'm not sure what income taxes are like in the US - I suspect they are generally lower because, from an outsiders perspective, socialist policies appear to be treated quite aggressively - whereas over here they are the norm (NHS anyone?). But…

Well, when I'm at the gym I do standing overhead press with dumbbells (I feel I can put more into the lift while standing, rather than sitting, and for this lift I just prefer dumbbells to bar). Firstly - maybe use the 3 pound dumbbell as a door stop or something  When I first started weight lifting (I had never…

Depends where she's from - 18 is the legal drinking age in a lot of countries, 16 in some :drinker:
