Ooo be careful - I got told off on the previous page for being an ignorant foreigner when I made (joking!) comments like this earlier
-
I am simply being humourous - nothing malicious, just a bit of political satire. They aren't opinions, just jokes, Laces_Out seemed to be getting it  You don't see me calling him an ignorant foreigner for the "world war champs" shirt? It is offensive, but clearly a joke. No offence taken. Why am I ignorant but he…

So long as you aren't including Fox News in this - definitely not the place to be getting 'facts' from.

How do you know they weren't American?
-
Manufactured by small children in sweat shops for the smallest of wages and none of the rights and freedoms americans are so proud of? Ironic indeed.
-
Ahhhh I seeeee! Thank you for the description
-
Thanks - i'm still not totally sure what they 'do' as such, but thanks for the definition

Well, I think it's some sort of secret society, because nobody seems to want to explain what it actually means! So far, the horse picture is all I have to go on! Oh, and that it happens in groups of 3 or more...
-
Erm, sorry, I think I need a more in-depth explanation! In whose name?

What is a sorority girl?

Well, I'm in the UK so luckily it isn't quite 12 years! That is an amazing amount of time - full respect for you all who go in knowing it will take so long. For me it will be 7 years (maximum) - 3 yrs for the BSc, 4 yrs for the PhD. Though some friends still think I'm crazy...

WTF? Why would you need your weight on your driving licence?! :noway:
-
Don't they explode and squirt tiny acidic seeds of doom in your eye?! (Yes, I had a childhood trauma relating to this)
-
Why don't you try stopping with the soy milk and soy protein and seeing if they stop? Everybody is different, so this would be the best way of figuring out if it is true for you or not!

I have lived in both East Anglia and S. Yorkshire - 18 yrs in E.Anglia and 7 yrs in S.Yorks - neither of these places have I ever heard anyone say 'leery' to mean wary! If someone said it to me i'd assume they were describing someone who was leering! It's very strange too, as even at Uni when people congregated from all…

Ah, yes just seen that the 249cal is 40g of jordans oats WITH 220ml milk. The calories you are comparing aren't like for like. Yes, 30g of Weetos is 118cals, but is not including the calories from the milk you add (assuming you don't eat dry cereal!). Compare 100g of dry weight - like for like - Weetos is 392cals, Jordans…

Ah, that would be a pouffe! A poof is something else entirely
-
100g of porridge sounds like a lot! When you say 'Jordans porridge', it is just porridge oats or is a pre-mixed flavoured type thing? If just oats, I only use 40g of oats for a serving of porridge. I then add a banana, sultanas and cinnamon and it tastes really good! I find it quite filling.

Hehe. Oh noes! Not the dihydrogen monoxide! :noway: I think everybody needs to take a read of this site, before it's too late - http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html

"GMO is bad for you" I have asked people 'why' a few times, and nobody has ever replied... funny that!

A splash of wine? Yeh, that's pretty much my solution to everything.

Thanks for your reply! I have been trying to go deep - at least parallel - but I think perhaps part of my problem was that my feet weren't far enough apart? Either way, the pain is minimised when I keep my feet further apart, but realistically i'd rather it was gone completely before trying again! I actually asked one of…

Yes, I do agree that it is slang - but i'm saying that is how I would understand the word 'leery' in the UK. I have never in my life heard anyone use it to mean 'wary', except on this site! When I have heard it being used it over here it has always been in the context as I described above
-
I have honestly never heard anyone use the word 'leery' to mean wary - I generally hear it used to describe guys who are a bit boozed up and perving over a girl... i.e. to leer, they were leering over her, she was being leered over/at. Hmm.. lets see if a dictionary can give a better description... Leer (especially of men)…
-
I get the impression that 'leery' means something different in the US than it does in the UK? Either that or people don't understand they are using the wrong word... I have seen several people using the word 'leery' in the context that us Brits would use the word 'wary'. 'Leery' is something different altogether!

Someone sent me a friend a request but with no message - I was confused. Who is this? Why have they added me? Where did they find my username? So I am ignoring the request - it just seems very odd to add someone as a friend without saying why, especially when there hasn't been any previous interaction. I mean, they seem…

Haha yes! I went to the US when I was about 8 and I remember seeing a restaurant advertising 'Chicken and biscuits'. I was like WTF?! Why would you DO that?!
