  • Just take it one day at a time. It's a slow process, but the support you'll find on here is absolutely AMAZING! Not to mention that it makes me feel accountable and I even track when I know I'm over my calories for the day. Remember the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.... and... you've taken it.....…

  • I know 4 - my sister and a co-worker who don't really count b/c they don't log in often; a co-worker who won't friend me  dont know why other than he's a guy. LOL.... and a acquaintance that I met through work, who just joined and is worried about eating too many calories. :ohwell: and may not really do it. I'd love…
  • Glad you're here and you've already taken the first step on your journey. :-) Eating and exercise is a big part of the equation to your success and even though it's hard to motivate sometimes, whether eating or not eating or exercising or not, I find that being a part of this community helps me to be aware, which in turn…

  • I just purchased a Polar FT7 and absolutely love it! I shopped it around on the internet before making the investment. If you buy it retail, it's about $119, but I got mine for $84 at Heart Rate Monitors USA. http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/ft7-series.html The red one is a little more expensive than the others, but I'm…

  • It's hard to break that habit of weighing every day... I've been doing it for years. Many years ago it was suggested to weigh everyday just to keep yourself in check, but I guess times have changed and I, too, should probably hide the sacle! 4 pounds lost if awesome! Keep up the good work!
  • I just slice it and steam it with onions and a little butter, salt & pepper.
  • So glad you're here! Like everyone else says...you'll love this site!

  • I can so identify with just about EVERYTHING you wrote! but it didn't happen to me till I was around 53, give or take. Gave up a job where I was constantly on the go, moved to another state and find myself at my desk most days and have had a hard time getting back into exercising. Went from a size 4 to a size 8 and am…
  • Thanks everytone! I just bought a pair of Bloch at the dancewear store and think I'm going to love them! I tried on the capezio and did think they had the support I needed and the Nike's just didn't do anything for me! If I stick with Zumba (and I know I will) I'll check out the Puma's. I saw some yesterday, but didn't kow…
  • Hi there and welcome! You've come to the right place. The support here is great. I can identify with the hunger. Besides drinking lots of water, I was often taught to take your mind off of it by doing something active and for just five minutes, even if it's talking on the phone with a friend or coming here to MFP and…
  • Glad you're here! Let's make the circle larger by another friend!
  • A journey of a thousand miles, starts with the first step! You've taken it, so let the journey begin!!!!
  • Hi Mom of 4 - One thing that has worked for me in the past is to put my meals on a smaller plate. That way, if the plate is full, it still looks like I'm eating a lot. Slow down when I eat and drink plenty of water. You're on the right track.
  • Katy Perry's songs are always a good choice or Jennifer Lopez's - On the Floor.
