  • Nope; not a detox. I eat oatmeal EVERY MORNING, too, and it doesn't do anything special for me, except maybe help keep my cholesterol down.
  • Good morning all! I'm trying to get back into the grove of things and am really struggling with accountability. Decided to try to get back to my LS walking at home and what better way than to get myself back active with a group and a new challenge. I think 60 miles for the month will be atainable.... now to just push…
  • I eat real food. Some days are better than others. I stay away from the packaged frozen meals, i.e., lean cuisine, etc. just because I wasn't raised eating those sorts of things. I do give into the desires of sugar, i.e., cookies, candy, etc., but try to do it in moderation. Friend me, if you'd like., my diary is open!
  • you're right; having a distraction always makes it easier! My husband actually mounted a TV on the wall above the treadmill for me.... talk about spoiled... now, if he'd just put a HD cable box with it, I'd be set!!!! LOL!
  • Thanks for the info. I'm not 100% sure whether mine has street views or just terrains and for some reason, I'm under the impressiomn that you map out your route, but it's not a real time thing. Maybe I'm wrong. Yes, I read on the ift website there have been a lot of changes going on recently. Let me know how it goes; it'll…
  • This is all good info for me. I'm thinking about getting an iFit for my treadmill and have heard mixed reviewes on it, so I'm anxious to get "real time" feedback, from real people that I can communicate with. Sounds like your treadmills are new; mine is a couple of years old and does not have the color display, so I wonder…
  • I've read conflicting reviews on the ifit. I've been thinking about making the investment, but am hesitant because I've read as you said its hard to get set up and is a bit more advanced and does not have a lot for lower levels. it's it worth the investment? o I have a proforma 505 C T. it's about two years old.
  • Heart Rate Monitors USA (HeartRateMonitorsUSA.com) is having a great sale on heart rate monitors. I bought a Polar FT7 last year for about $85 and they now have them on sale for $69. Just thought I'd share the news!
  • I am always on the treadmill and use a HRM. My treadmill shows a greater calorie burn than my heart rate monitor so I would be cheating myself if I went by the treadmill reading, although I like that number better!
  • Now that's one hellava burn!!!!
  • Wow! What a story! You are an amazing inspiration to show the strength of a human being in the face of any adversity and you are winning the fight! Congrats on your returning health and life! :flowerforyou:
  • Fortunately, they don't deliver to the U.S. or I'd be in big trouble!!! I'm such a sweets junkie, and well, what can I say... anything with chocolate in it and I'm all over it!
  • Stephanie... you ROCK!!!!!
  • Mine is November 24th...
  • I have the same HRM and have had absolutely no problems with it. However, I do not soak mine in the sink. After my workout and when I hop in the shower, I rinse it real well and actually hand wash it with neutrogena face soap. I figure that will do the trick. I let it rinse out really well under the shower to make sure…
  • I go the gym at lunch a lot and then back to work. Never had any problem or comments from my co-workers and I work in a small office. I do, however, change out of everything into my workout clothes, bras, panties, etc. so I can sweat; then when I'm done, I wipe down with wet wipes and/or wet towel and change back into my…
  • Yep, sounds like you are each others enablers or maybe one is sabotaging the other because of fear. I know that sounds crazy, but fear (even subconscienous fear) can cause us to do strange things. I feel as though my hubby likes to sabotage me cuz I'm trying to watch what I eat to lose some weight and get back in shape and…
  • Checking in from Dallas, Texas, USA! (But wishing I was checking in from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida or New Orleans, Louisiana where I previously lived!) Happy New Year everyone and welcome Newbies!!!!
  • I could absolutely LIVE on PB! If it didn't have so cotton pickin many calories, that is! Jiffy Creamy is the only way to go! So I have my PB sandwiches with apple butter so I don't feel quite as guilty! Yes, PB is one of my guilty pleasures!
  • Just like an attorney to write something like that!!! LOL!!!!! I'm still old fashioned and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!! Too bad if they don't like it!!! (Actually, here in Dallas, most people say the same thing!) Now... if I were living in south Florida, well... that'd be a different story. All kidding aside, I…
  • :flowerforyou: You're awesome, Kelly!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours, too!!!
  • Now that's one heck of a Christmas menu!!! Good for you!
  • For sure... having it with all of my very special friends on MFP. Hubby not on here and he would never join in the fun! His loss, but my gain, because I don't have to worry about him being in my space! Fortunately my only co-worker who was on here stopped and so.... I've got this luscious affair going on with all…
  • I must correct my menu.... It's prime rib for dinner, not just a rib roast! Hubby wants creme brulee, I'm thinking of homemade cheesecake... who knows, maybe both
  • Why would you want to sleep with a bra on, no matter what kind it is... the thought of it is so uncomfortable. I can't wait to get it off when I get home. I definitely do not want to feel bound up when I sleep....gotta have some freedom! :blushing:
  • I personally like your steak idea. Instead of bringing the meat, make a gift certificate to redeem for the steaks, but have the wine and seasoning and put it all in a gift bag. As far as I'm concerned, you can NEVER go wrong with a steak dinner. Definitely an OK idea!!
  • A heart rate monitor will become your best friend when exercising, especially with weight training. The HRM will also tell you if you are in fittness or fat burn. Worth the investment. I wear mine all the time!
  • current job: Manage homeowner's associations... six of 'em..... dream job: to hang out on the beach, go to the gym, enjoy life and have enough cash to life comfortably.
  • Fantastic progess and congrats on an NSV! Aren't they great. I know how you feel about people not noticing... a little discouraging... but I try to keep pluggin along. You're doing marvelous!!
  • i log in every day and don't mind the counter. I think it's actually nice... a reminder that I'm committed to something good and positive in my life.
