Lets not throw basic physiology out the window. A person with maintenance or TDEE of 1000 is sedentary and 2 foot tall and probably 117 years old. You meant to say "I gain water weight above 1k because of stupid dieting. If I eat at 1600-2200 daily ill fix my metabolism and be happier!"

In theory yes. Use the link I posted and figure out TDEE. Then look at your mfp settings WITH exercise added in. Compare the numbers then post here.
