It takes time to get the right combination of exercise, sleep, and nutrition, to balance out life.

Those rodent studies are a joke. You know that right? Like most rodent studies they don't apply to humans very well.

The average person can fluctuate up to 5lbs per day depending on hormones, activity, and nutrition. Maintaining weight is within 10lbs. Let me ask you this, if you trained hard one day and we're completely wiped, then drank a glass of OJ resulting in some glycogen overcompensation within the muscle resulting in a 3lb…

Okay I'll stop being snarky. 2 of my clients are former binge eaters. They claimed to have sugar addiction but in reality, they were cutting out foods that have no negative impact on their ultimate goals of having a healthy body. After educating them for more than a year, they are binge free, don't count calories, sleep,…

Along with the snarky comments I actually do care and work to help people avoid the things I've done in the past before realizing critical thinking is an important skill to grow. ;)
-
You can have fast carbs prior to a workout if you like. Let's try to not use absolutes.

Don't avoid anything. Wait! Avoid being that friend who avoids things. Go have fun and don't derp out at the dinner table. Eat to 80% full then stop. Enjoy it.

It's simply a model and should only be used as a tool if the task calls for it. In other words when I'm working with a mother who's up at 3am to get ready for the day and she complains of nighttime snacking issues, I'll pull up Ego Depletion and explain the concept. Now she understands that other people have been through…

Adjust logging? Okay two things to consider when experiencing a plateau. 1). Maintain food intake and increase exercise or increase movement. 2). Maintain current exercise and decrease food intake little by little till you start losing again. Logging has little to do with it.

We seek sugar because of the brain. It's #1 priority is maintaining energy. But when you look into the rodent models on sugar you'll see several key factors. 1). Extremely limited food choices. The rodents eat nutrient dense nuggets that taste like cardboard. 2). Dopamine increase only lasted a short while in rodents when…

You should see the new In Place of a Roadmap 2017 @psulemon .

I blame the internet. Too much information. Too many points of view. When I initially lost my weight, I learned quickly that extreme calorie cutting wasn't right. Then critical thinking kicked in.

This 100% I love oreos too

96% of people who go on energy reduced programs will gain 3% weight back within a year of stopping the program. That's why diets typically don't work.

Up to three weeks of non scale weight changes.

The windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror right? If counting calories doesn't stress you out, count calories. If you want to not have to count, use Precision Nutrition portions guide or read Georgie Fears book "Lean Habits" or hire a PN coach. Send an FR if you need any help.
-
Google Precision Nutrition portions and understand that you don't have to count calories if you don't want to.
-
Not many. Just eat whole foods with a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. Lean protein at every meal.

Shoot for the calorie goal that puts you at 1/4-1/2lb per week for fat loss. Also keep in mind that the last 10 tends to hid itself on daily water fluctuations as well as weight fluctuations from monthly cycle, stress, sleep quality etc...

Are you working with a therapist?

Stop eating when you're 80% full. Simple.
-
That's a paid feature I believe. What macros do you think you need and why?
-
In my opinion it has its uses and should be viewed as a tool. With that said, my clients don't count calories to get to their goals.

What's wrong with using butter? I like coconut oil or olive oil but when butter is useful I use it.

You've outlined everything that needs to change, and everything that's in place to help you. Maybe hire a coach! Investing in charge generally causes change.

It's stress. Rate the following from 1-10, 10 being amazing! Mood Stress Sleep (also how many hours/night) Daily Bowel movements Satiation per meal If you're on medication that could interfere with "weight" loss too.
