  • Depends on the drugs. A shift in hormones could effect weight loss. Nutrient deficiency could effect weight loss. High stress can reduce RMR effecting weight loss. It's more complex than CICO. Click the link above and look through a few of the sections. Calories is a very small portion.
  • You're fine! We're mostly one big happy dysfunctional family here. :)
  • @RunRutheeRun Please look at this map and understand that while a large portion of members may be under reporting their intake, there are hundreds if not thousands of reasons why they aren't losing weight. http://www.shiftn.com/obesity/Full-Map.html
  • Between studying, running two businesses, working with clients.... Plenty of time! :)
  • You can lose weight on high fat or high carb or ZONE or weight watchers or paleo or vegetarian/vegan..... Protein is still in my opinion the best macro hands down. Just the slightest research into each macronutrient will teach you the benefits of consuming a variety of foods, colorful fruits and veggies, lean meat, plant…
  • Question about CICO and the 1000kcal deficit: My wrist watch is 37,000kcal in a bomb calorimeter. If I consume my entire watch will I gain over 10 pounds of fat in a day? You have a poor understanding of physiology please stop answering questions here. Thanks! What is OP was taking Prednisone? Or any other drug that…
  • What type of medication do you take compared to him?
  • Red flags everywhere
  • Have you spoken to your doctor? This is far outside the scope of this forum I'm sure...
  • I'm curious too. Looks like she hijacking the thread.
  • Been a member since 2011 I believe. Took a break for a while and now I'm back.
  • Two things you can do. 1). Eat less but don't overdo it with exercise. 2). Eat more but add in higher intensity exercises. When you look at your day I want you t to think about all of the activity you do. Are you mostly on your feet, or sitting? Are you playing with your kids or pets? Are you only doing cardio or a healthy…
  • Only in the elderly or those with renal issues. See Jose Antonios ISSN study on 3g/kg intake with no negative impact except some constipation.
  • Organic uses just as much pesticide as any GMO crop... Eat local livestock if you can or get it from reputable sources. It's understandable that you'd think this way but once you've worked in this business for a while, you'll learn to weed through the BS. Nothing inherently wrong with GMOs. I'd rather eat a chicken with…
  • This is normal. What low calorie, high satiating food can you replace the "junk" with? Almonds? Greek yogurt? Grapes? Apples? Celery with a little hummus?
  • Took the words right outta my mouth.
  • I understand what you're saying but my goodness this sounds boring. Why Not diet eating a wide variety of foods and enjoy the process? This sounds like prison.
  • You should be closer to maintenance. Diet on the highest amount of calories while working towards your goal. Also keep in mind you've lost quite a bit of weight. Maybe it's a good idea to take a little break, work up to maintenance continuing your training routine. Who knows? Maybe you no longer need to be in such a deep…

  • What makes it that way for you?
  • I love the "throw CICO at everything" mentality. OP question: are you on any medication that may slow your weight loss? Have you had your blood panel recently? How's your stress level? Do you sleep 7-9 hours a night? These things will interfere with CICO.
  • If it's in the house, you'll surely eat it at some time. How much are you trying to lose and do you usually find yourself craving at night? Or around 3 in the afternoon?
  • Without doing exercises is think prioritizing sleep and anxiety first. Arrest any nutritional deficiencies by taking a good multivitamin and omega 3 supplement second. YouTube beginner bodyweight or beginner animal flow videos. These videos will train you in proper movement and helps build flexibility. Since you'll getting…
  • Depends on a lot of factors. If you're obese II or higher, 3lbs is doable but I'd recommend having a coach who can remain objective in your goals and progress. The real issues come up when someone who shouldn't be losing more than a pound a week is trying for 3, then you start getting hormonal issues, moodiness, hunger…
  • Suppose carbs in the post workout timeframe is where you need them? What intensity are you using in the gym? Do you do any type of HIIT on off days?
  • Appx my thumb length is enough oil for me. Tbsp is the usual measurement I believe.
  • Ignore them or report them if they get stupid. Another good thing you could do is simply play mind games with them.
