Did OP ever even come back?

I haven't been cooking with butter much lately because I'm down to my last 5lbs and it's just too calorie dense to eat all the time, but I can't wait for maintenance because cooking eggs and veg in butter is divine.

Just trying to get in shape for when I find my drift-compatible.

Somewhere down the line, someone probably said something that made OP feel not "womanly" enough, and now she's directing her childish anger to a group of people that affect her life in no way whatsoever. It's okay, OP. You're real. We see you.
-
So if you're weighing and accurately counting your calories now, and aren't gaining or losing, you're eating at maintenance. When you gained that weight before, you were eating at a surplus. Period. If you intend to lose, you then know what to do, yes? Since you're accurately weighing and counting calories? We can drop the…

tl;dr: op has anger issues around overweight people

Welp. Good luck doing the same thing that got you to post this thread. I hope you find your special mystery medical condition.

I work 9-5:30 monday-friday and I make sure to work out at least half an hour a day most days. You can squeeze half an hour in, somewhere. Presumably you also will have scheduled work breaks. I use that time to take walks. On my days off I don't "work out", but I stay active doing things I enjoy. You can make the time.
-
I'm basically covered in a thin dew 24/7. When I work out, it becomes a safety hazard because I'm literally dripping all over the floor. If I get upset, my awesome evolutionary response is to get really hot and sweaty. Presumably to gross out any potential predators/threats. *fellas*

*sigh*

In other words: OP keep doing what you're doing. Stay within your calorie range and enjoy your cheat meal so long as it doesn't put you over your weekly caloric intake and you're golden. Just remember it's all CICO, no starvation mode, no resetting, no shocking the system or confusing your body.
-
This sounds like just another way to word "starvation mode". OP you didn't gain perhaps because despite your one cheat meal, if you've stayed within your deficit for the whole week, you might not have have eaten enough calories at your cheat meal to truly put you over. That's all. There's no tricks.

Fantastic work!!

Being poor can teach you some pretty wicked cooking skills! I remember having to figure out what to do with large batches of one kind of produce from the food bank. I can make a great zucchini soup now.

-eggs -salmon -ground beef -bell peppers -spinach -onions -tortillas -rice -queso fresco -yogurt

Whoever came up with that phrase never had duck fat potatoes.

Oh dear god.

I guess I have to achieve the NSV of having an SO in the first place. *twiddles thumbs*

When people ask these questions, I remember a really hilarious (now, not then) thing that happened to me shortly after high school, after some disordered eating caused me to lose 20lbs. I felt pretty good about it, you know? So when a guy who I'd been hanging out with, who I was attracted to and who seemed friendly and…

...are you trying to fight me?

I'm a karate green belt with a few tournaments under said belt, and I have a basic handle on guns and most recently, archery. I suppose I could hang at least a little while in the z-pocalypse.

Good if they help you maintain your caloric deficit, bad if you don't. There's really no "good/bad". Just make sure you get plenty of water, those microwave meals have a good deal of sodium. Otherwise, they're pretty convenient work lunches.

I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but most people hate the bitter "veins" that run down it and get caught in your teeth. The flavor is smoother if you remove them by gently running a veg peeler down them and getting rid of the threads. Try that, and then add them to whatever you want to try them in.

It's not stupid. It works. You want to lose weight, so do what works. What's stupid is continuing doing the same thing and making the same excuses for yourself, and expecting things to change. If that's what you want, go check out the "law of attraction" thread and start on your magical vision board. OR: Someone already…

And less dishes and cups and spoons to wash. Win-win.
-
Nothing wrong with being hippy. That being said, you aren't that hippy.
-
Then why join a calorie counting site that promotes CICO? Slave? It takes seconds to weigh food. I wish you the best in trying to find the magical reason why you're a special snowflake and "can't" lose weight. The forums will be here when you're ready to face reality.
-
You were doing well before this. No. All calories turn into fat if not used. Carbs may cause some water retention, but they don't magically turn into fat more specialer than any other calorie from another macronutrient.

I'm losing steadily at 1400, by the way. I expect the weight loss to stagnate when I don't log accurately, which is something that will occasionally happen and I have no one to hold responsible but myself. No excuses.
