Hey Geoff, glad you've joined us. I'm thousands of miles away (Coloorado) but wanted to say hi! You'll love the support here. Good luck on meeting your goals. Lisa

i am always up a couple of pounds after a long run (10+ miles). You probably have a good amount of water retention going on right now after that run. Are you eating your exercise calories back? Are you eating enough to fuel your workouts? ETA: also, 4 lbs in 11 weeks is fantastic--that's almost 3 lbs a week. even with no…

I weigh on Mondays and Fridays, but only count Friday's weigh-in. Mondays is more to see how i did over the weekend. You'll laugh at this though...my scale is in my kitchen. It keeps me from doing evil sometimes, just by seeing it there. My upstairs bathroom is too small to keep it out all the time, and I was forgetting to…

I have a sugar colum on my food log, but I changed my sugar goal to 75g to account for naturally occurring sugars in milk, yogurt and fruit. It is extremely rare that I exceed that, in fact most days I'm between 45-55g. (also, my cals are set to 1600 + exercise, and I avg about a 1# loss per week.)

On the very rare occassion I get a (nonfat/no whip) mocha, I also ask them to put half the amount of chocolate syrup in. It's not as sweet, saves some calories and tastes fantastic to me :drinker:

That's ALWAYS a great feeling! Great job and congrats on meeting your end of May goal. :flowerforyou:

Hey Vince sometimes a post just speaks to you, you know? It's late afternoon and I was just thinking, "man, am I struggling today." It's a bit frustrating because i've done well since i started logging a month ago, and i have the urge to eat everything right now. You've done amazingly well since starting and I know how it…

Everything counts! Getting in 3 20 minute sessions is MUCH better than getting nothing in at all. Go for it. :)

I am another person that has a freakishly high heart rate, especially when i'm running. I'm 41, and i've seen my hrm go up to 216. (yes, that is not a typo). I know when i'm running, if i see my rate between 180-185, i have to dial it back a bit, but i can run comfortable with my hr around 170. back in 2005, after i ran my…

For a 5K, 8K, 5 miler or 10K, I usually just eat mini bagel with peanut butter and some coffee @ 2 hrs before i race. If it's a half marathon, I'd have a regular size bagel (plus the pb). i don't worry about carb loading the night before shorter races. I usually eat pasta w/some chicken and veggies (but not in a heavy…

Funny, I was just talking about my food scale to some friends earlier today. Believe it or not, i'm pretty good at eyeballing an ounce of cheese. I've found that measuring cups (1/4c = 1 oz ) are pretty accurate, as long as you are not jamming the cheese in there. I found i was seriously underestimating my protein (mostly…

I went back only about a week on your food diary and you have been @700-2000 (!!!) calories under your goal every day not including the 500 calorie deficit MFP has already calculated into your base. You are literally starving yourself and not giving your body enough fuel to live on. That s why you feel faint. Either eat…

For me, after a long run (10+ miles), I always retain water for a day or so. It looks like you lost quite a bit of weight the first 4-6 weeks you were tracking. You can not expect to maintain those numbers week after week after week, unless you were extremely heavy and I'm assuming by the fact that since your ran 11 miles…

HUGE difference. Congratulations...you can totally see a difference :flowerforyou:

i actually do my chickpeas in the crockpot. I can pick up a bag of dried chickpeas for $1 and it's the equivalent of 6 cans. I use @2 cans worth for hummus and put 2 cans worth in a tupperware and freeze them. Much cheaper than using canned. i  hummus

i agree with lilchino. You definitely need to eat more. Yes, you've lost weight, but if you are consistently eating as your diary shows, your body is in starvation mode and trying to hold onto everything you put into it. Looking at your diary from yesterday, you need more fiber....and fruits and vegetables! if you are…

Welcome, glad you've joined us. i've been here on and off for a while, but @ 3 weeks ago, decided to really be consistent with logging my food.

Hey Jess! Just wanted to say hi to you here...and hi to all the other X'ers! I'm on Day 5 of my 3rd round. First round was in 2007, 2nd round last year which was modified (i substituted running for the cardio days). This time, I'm trying to get 3 runs in a week (5-6 miles ea). Lisa

I think you're fine. i'm 5'5", weigh @146, am (almost  ) 40, have been running for years and i burn on average, 130 cals a mile (which is a bit higher than most people, but my max hr (and thus my zones, for my age), are a bit higher than the "charts"). i ran @ 5.7mi on tuesday and burned 738 per my hrm. that included…

You programs your stats (age, height, sex, weight) into the F6 (i have one). i don't know about the F4. if you go to Polar's website, you can pull up a comparison chart of all their models. HTH Lisa

yes, the strap comes with Polar F4 & F6.
