The chicory root is definitely a problem for me! I like the Luna fiber bars. De-lish!

I second Mrs. LL. :drinker: I would alternate strength training and cardio days. Skip the 3-lb weights and do bodyweight exercises (pushups, lunges, squats, burpees, etc.). And make the most of your time on the elliptical with intervals (such as 2 minutes moderate speed, 1 minute as fast as you can, repeat for 15-30…

Do what you enjoy! Walking is a great place to start. You will naturally want to challenge yourself more and more, and eventually, walking might become a supplement/gateway to other forms of exercise. I started by walking 2-3 miles a day, then I added in some classes at the gym (LOVE Zumba), then some Jillian Michaels, and…

Cooriander, is it too late to include me? If not, put me down for 90 miles for February. I should breach 100 in March. This winter training is tough, though! How do you all do it?

First full marathon this year on May 5 (Flying Pig in Cincinnati, OH). I'm kicking myself for signing up, because training this winter (so far) has sucked! I'm using the Hal Higdon Novice 1 plan. You can use the Hal Higdon plans with walking, too (http://halhigdon.com/training/50936/Walking-5K-Training). I used his…

This happy ending was planned in a month. We got married in an open-air shelter in a local park in the snow in front of our immediate families. The "reception" was dinner out with our families in our favorite restaurant. Cost @ $1000 for everything. I'm happier than I ever would have been dropping a fortune on a large…

RunnerD9000- do you make your own yogurt, too?
-
Wow, your fridge is so organized! Here's mine. It's very schizophrenic. Some wonderful homemade treats (chai tea, yogurt in jar, turkey rice soup, eggrolls, pesto cubes, etc.) as well as processed, packaged goodies. Those hot dogs and the sauerkraut are destined for my belly soon! * edited for size

For the moment, just guzzling water and Powerade Zero to rehydrate. :drinker:

My profile pic is 2 days old. Just got married on Saturday. Outside in the snow.

Last P90X Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps workout with Ab Ripper X. Next week is recovery week, and then I'll be a P90X graduate! :drinker: Also (finally) got the dog walked- 1 mile in the snow. Total calories burned during exercise today- 280

2 weeks from graduating from P90X Classic! I highly recommend it. I haven't lost weight, but I can definitely see changes in my body. Most certainly improvements in strength. You need dumbbells- adjustable might be the way to go. I use anywhere from 5 - 30 lbs dumbbells depending on the exercise. I personally wouldn't…

I just own up to it and move on. Today's a new day. I'll be joining you for P90X Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X tonight. I love the leg workout- it's my favorite. I'm usually sore for 2 days afterward!

I love to play hockey, but there aren't any leagues for women in my area. I currently play broomball.

I second the Air Force Half-Marathon! It was my first half, and I will do it over and over again! You get to run on areas of the Air Force base that civilians normally don't get to see. You run under the wings of a fighter right before the finish line. If you register on January 1st, 2013, there is a $10 discount. I'm…

I make a protein shake with pumpkin- delish! Blend together: 1/4 cup canned pumpkin 1 cup unsweetened almond/coconut milk 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 1/4 cup chai tea (optional) pumpkin pie spice to taste handful of ice Yum! Mine is under 200 calories and has 25 grams of protein.
-
I usually make my own with Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey protein powders, but in a pinch, I like the Core Power protein shakes. In particular, the light strawberry banana. 150 calories and 20 grams of protein. It doesn't taste artificial.

OMG, YES! I've been eying that piece of black raspberry pie from Thanksgiving. If the hubs doesn't eat it by tomorrow, that sucker is mine!
-
Don't even worry about logging- one day is not going to set you back. Try for reasonable portion sizes and get a workout in if you can. Enjoy the holiday and time with family!

My first full-marathon in May. Winter training. Blech.

I am reminded of this:
-
I just add it to the same meal, and then click on it and change it to the proper mealtime. Still saves time.

One more vote for Pimsleur!

My one-rep max is 95 hard-earned lbs. I can do 5 reps with 75-80 lbs.

Only 5 miles this week. P90X takes too much out of me to keep the miles up! Don't think I'm going to make it.
