  • Maybe to appease the monster in your head you could tell yourself that if you do end up with lose skin after you lose the weight you will allow yourself to gain some of it back. I'm almost positive that once you start losing all of the pros will outweigh the one little con of having lose skin!

  • Hi, my highest weight was 210, I'm currently 191, my goal is in the 130 range also. You got this! The first few weeks of logging can be a bit tedious but it becomes second nature after about a month.

  • I haven't been able to do my usual 20-40,000 steps for the last two weeks due to a foot injury. I have still managed to lose 2 lbs a week just by eating at a deficit. I have two more weeks until I can be more active and I feel pretty confident that I can maintain my deficit through diet only. I'd say spend the money on a…
  • I think you're supposed to drink .5-1 oz per pound you weigh. I drink about 200 oz of water a day for several reasons. I'm thirsty, I drink if I feel a little hungry but not quite ready for a meal, I'm trying to quit soda, I'm trying to hydrate because I heard it helps your skin maintain elasticity as you lose weight.
  • Cashew milk is pretty creamy, I like it a lot.
  • After I had my daughter I had red stretch marks, I used bio oil and they turned white after a few weeks. Idk if the stuff actually worked or if they faded on their own. Bio oil did nothing to help the older stretch marks on my hips that I've had since I was a teenager. You look pretty muscular, my advice would be to keep…
  • Chocolate chip cookie dough lara bars are sweet and yummy! Also, you can make "snickers" by stuffing a date with some chunky peanut butter and drizzling or coating it with melted chocolate chips. If I don't have time to melt chocolate or I want a quick snack you can just stuff them with chocolate also, soooo good!
  • Congrats! My daughter has sensory processing disorder, as a toddler she HATED the texture of fruit. Her physical therapist suggested we cut the foods differently each time and just keep giving them to her. For example, she wouldn't eat baby carrots or diced carrots but loved matchstick carrots. She also disliked…
  • I'm with you! I hate breakfast and most breakfast foods. Plus, if I eat at 7 or 8 I'm hungry ALL day. I think intermittent fasting is pretty popular here and I love it. I have coffee in the morning and water throughout the day, i eat a 3-500 calorie lunch around 1 and a 3-500 calorie dinner at 6. In between I snack to eat…
  • My six year old hasn't asked if there is a baby in my tummy for several weeks! She had a really hard time figuring out how my tummy could be so big without a baby in there :D
  • Are you happy with the way you look? If you weigh more but your clothes still fit perhaps you gained a bit of muscle and you don't have much fat to loose at all. If you are happy with how you look I would suggest forgetting about that goal weight because you are already on the low end of the bmi charts. If you aren't happy…
  • This. I started meal planning three months ago. I use a spiral notebook and each page has my meal list/ingredients for every meal and shopping list at the bottom of the page. Now when I meal plan I'm not spending lots of time thinking about what to make, I just flip the pages to a few weeks ago, see what we haven't had in…
  • Have you heard of Vegan Egg? Lots of people love it and it cooks like a scrambled egg or or is great in an omelet. As far as chicken goes, can you get a toaster oven to cook chicken in? I could get rid of my oven and only cook in my toaster oven, I really like it! I have been an on and off vegetarian for years, it's really…
  • If you're low income you can apply for medicaid at any time of the year, not just during open enrollment (I'm almost positive it's true in all states, that's how it is in Washington) It's totally worth a try, you can apply online and find out if you will be covered immediately.
  • Thanks for posting this question! I've been feeling off this week and just super cranky. I don't know why I didn't put the two together earlier but I haven't walked at all this week or done anything outside because I hurt my foot and I'm trying to stay off it. I hope you find answers to your question, I sure did!
  • Have you tried taking pictures of yourself to compare the old you with the new you? A lot of people here talk about getting to their goal weight and are still not happy with what they see so what you're feeling is totally normal. I say, do your hair and makeup (or whatever you do to make yourself feel pretty) and take a…
  • I was about to recommend rice paper bacon, it looks so good! I've bought all the ingredients, I just can't find the rice paper, I'm going to check a Vietnamese grocery store tomorrow. If it tastes half as good as it looks I'll share the recipe :)
  • Burritos have been my favorite, I fill them with Spanish rice, corn, and black beans. Any kind of meat would work too. I roll them individually in parchment paper then freeze them in a big gallon size ziploc bag. I eat them with a big salad and salsa. A lot of people buy rotisserie chickens, I think they're 4.50 at Costco.…
  • Totally worth it! You can buy a second hand one if you are worried you will spend a bunch of money and never use it. That's what I did with my first one, I've upgraded twice since then and I have really enjoyed having it.
  • Fitbit Alta. I chose fitbit because that's what my friends and family use and it's fun to do challenges with them. It's also cute, i can change the band, I like that it has a clock and I can see my text messages on it. It's working really well! I eat back half of the calories that I burn and I'm steadily losing weight. The…
  • I've learned that motivation follows action, so you just need to start. Don't restrict any food, just eat at a deficit as others have said. After a few days of realizing that you will go over your goals if you eat calorie dense foods all day you may start to crave big salads for lunch that allow for a more indulgent foods…
  • I took Alli and lost 30 lbs after having my daughter. It was a few years ago, I don't remember how drastically I changed my diet. I never had any of the side effects. I gained it all back over the years and now I'm just counting calories, I haven't even bothered with macros yet and I've lost 15 lbs in 6 weeks. My opinion…
  • I was going to recommend rolling your foot over a tennis ball but a cold bottle of soda sounds better!
  • My only concern with drinking is that I would get too drunk and lose control and eat large amounts of food that I normally wouldn't. If you can have one or two and they fit in your calorie count you're totally fine.
  • I had an Asiago bacon spicy chicken sandwich, it was 600ish calories and very yummy!
  • You can make granola bars at home. Trader Joes has dark chocolate bars that have no milk. You could cut them into pieces and mix them in your granola/nut/honey mixture or melt it and drizzle on top.
  • Do you have Netflix? I love all the documentaries on there. My favorites are Sugar Coated, Food Matters, Forks Over Knives, Fed Up and Hungry for Change (it had a silly story line in between all the people they interview but other than that there is a lot of good info).
  • Energy and happiness - day one for sure! Changes in my body - two weeks! My faced thinned out a lot and my lower back/spare tire area shrunk so quickly! Strength and Stamina - I haven't noticed much yet. I'm 6 weeks into it though and I've just been walking. However, I've always had a mental block with running, my brother…
  • I have been loving Lara Bars, the Chocolate chip cookie dough is awesome! I also love dates stuffed with a little peanut butter and a chocolate drizzle, they're called vegan snickers and they're amazing!
  • 1200 is usually not enough. It's just A generic number mfp seems to give everyone that wants to lose 2 lbs a week. 1500 ish sounds better, but HampsterManV2 is right, we need to know your height, weight, age and activity level to correctly calculate your calories.
