Just to comment on the thread name, because I tend to agree with what you had to say, people will do and believe what it suits them to do and believe, regardless of other people's experiences and, often enough, common sense. So what you've said won't end anything, it will likely be as long a thread as any around here that…

Potato pizza makes me think perogie pizza. ~deep heartfelt sigh~ As interesting as this is, I'm not certain what would make this better than regular crust, except maybe that it's potato.

Oddly enough, I've had a friend, a guy, who ate tin cat food sandwiches and said it really wasn't much different than pâté, and he preferred the tinned cat food. His explanation, he'd grown up poor and it had been a cheap option that he'd gotten a taste for, and said that in the UK the food had to be up to human…

I don't know what makes you think breaking up by text is going to avoid drama.

I'm surprised this diet is still around. I can remember this one back to the 70s.

Where I am, I'm pretty certain that most of my loss is coming from fat. I have a heck of a lot of it. This does not mean that I am disregarding the health or fitness aspects. It just means at this point, they are not my primary concerns, however over time my plan is for them to gain importance.

Inuit or First Nations, and clearly you've not seen many.

As a person who pretty much takes cold showers all winter, this is one of the silliest things I've ever heard, because were it the case, I'd be a heck of a lot thinner by now.

Fun? I worked front desk for a small hotel, it was a serious dive, that had a tavern and a bar. They brought in bands, country for the tavern, rock for the bar, as well as strippers during week nights, male and female. This was in an oil town, during a boom.

This isn't unusual. Weight fluctuates from day to day due to a variety of reasons and is why some people prefer to weigh weekly or monthly.

I used to read futures for people.

I can relate.

I am not going to offer any advice because you're about to get plenty of it. But I am curious as to why you would choose to do such a very low calorie diet?

~musing~ I've gone for years without things I love and I still crave them, and still love them when I manage to have them again. Donairs. Scallops. Jos Louis. Butter Tarts. Meringues with real cream. Nanaimo Bars Date Squares and so on. So, six to nine months is pure nonsense, at least for people like me. And I'm pretty…

Not to make light of how you're feeling. But this. Now, that out of the way. I think you have a misconception about what an adult is, because there is no one way to be one. At 51, I still second guess a lot of my decisions and often feel completely inadequate. I'm well aware that I've pretty much floated through life…

In reading other people's response I find that I have some experiences that would fit... if I'd taken them badly, but for all my depression my responses were to be amused or annoyed. The young son of a client asked me when I was having my baby. His mother was horrified but I simply replied to him that I wasn't having a…

Hello and welcome to MFP. You're right, starting something this major is scary, but you said you used to be a daredevil and adrenalin junkie, right? Now's the time to channel that attitude. ~smiles~ You're more than welcome to friend me if you'd like. R

I'm glad you feel better without it. But 1. I'm happy being crazy, life is more fun. 2. I have yet to find a Pepsi that doesn't taste awful. 3. The last thing I want to do is have a drink, the taste of which I don't like, with full sugar which will kick in my cravings, when I can happily drink something I like the taste of…

Just because fat people drink diet soda does not mean that diet soda makes people fat. Hmmm... and didn't exist 500 years ago, or we wouldn't have had access to 500 years ago where we live now? Because I'll de darned if I'm giving up chocolate.

~laughs~ If I could have regulated how much I ate, I wouldn't have got to the size I did. Self control was never my strong suit. Now, that said, no, under no circumstances would I advocate for Government involvement in the matter. I was just saying that if they did, there are many, many areas in which to turn their…

~considers our little country~ Okay, so we have a KFC and a few generic 'fast' food places, but when it comes down to it, they're not getting enough business to be responsible for the level of obesity we have here. What people are cooking at home, now, that's another matter. Personally, if they want to regulate fast food,…

Personally I have doubts that your 'body' wants you to eat those things, it's probably your cravings that are dictating your choices from habit/comfort.

Love this reply.

~chuckling~ Love your post.

~responding simply because I see said a lot~ Not everyone drinks diet coke as a no-cal substitute for regular Coke. I've always found regular Coke sickly sweet, took to Diet Coke when it came out because I preferred the taste to all the other sodas out there.
-
No, there aren't. Not unless you happen to be sensitive to artificial sweeteners or Diet coke is a trigger to overeating for you. No. No. No.

I keep going back to basic maths. How the heck does someone take in that much added sugar. Not from fruit or veg, but ADDED sugar.

You can see souls?

Wow. You've done so well.

My husband. Though I suspect he wouldn't be amused to hear I referred to his as a gadget.
